00:00But let me put this out there to all the people that think that Kyler Murray may go in there
00:05and have great success.
00:06So Kyler Murray tweets out, hey, look, I'm going to be in a position where I'm going to be successful
00:14is because of my work ethic.
00:17Dude, no one believes that.
00:20Nobody in the NFL believes your work ethic.
00:23You're the only quarterback in NFL history that had a study hall put into his contract and a bylaw that
00:33they slid into that because they thought you didn't prepare and prepare yourself for upcoming games.
00:39His work ethic.
00:41Who believes that this guy has a work ethic?
00:45The Cardinals don't.
00:46Nobody in the NFL believes that he has a work ethic.
00:51You're trying to convince me that Kyler Murray and his work ethic is going to make him a great quarterback
00:58in Minnesota.
00:59Hey, look, it's one thing to say that you have great talent and I do think you have great talent
01:04and I do think you can help Minnesota.
01:07But one of the things that you've got to change, dude, is the perception that people think you don't take
01:12the game serious.
01:13I mean, get this, folks, the Arizona Cardinals, when they put in that contract extension that paid him 46 large,
01:21they put in there that he had to study his playbook a couple hours a week.
01:28I mean, do you understand when you've got to ask somebody to prepare yourself for the upcoming game or an
01:35upcoming season?
01:36They look at you as a player that doesn't take the game serious.
01:41The first guy in the last guy out kind of mentality.
01:46Hey, Tom Brady, he was not the most gifted.
01:49Look, when you go back in NFL history, Aaron Rodgers is 10 times the quarterback that Tom Brady was athletically.
01:57But Tom Brady was superior to him in the preparation of the game.
02:02Kyler Murray has to take that same mentality that made Tom Brady great, was studying, understanding the game, understanding your
02:11personnel that you have on your team, understanding what you're playing against.
02:15That's studying, dude.
02:18I have never in my entire life ever heard a player ever have to have this.
02:23Hey, I want to give you all this money, guy.
02:25But at the end of the day, we need more of a commitment from you.
02:28And we need more of a commitment from you watching game field, looking at the opposing team, preparing yourself better,
02:36understanding more when it comes to how you look at how you're going to approach a football game.
02:42The mental part of the game, are you saying that in Arizona that you didn't think that he was smart
02:49enough to sit there and study the game and be committed to the game?
02:53Hey, look, this ain't about kissing cheerleaders and cashing paychecks.
02:57You got to do all those intangibles when people aren't watching, when the lights aren't on, when you're back in
03:03your backyard and it's raining and nobody's there.
03:06You got to do all the dirty work to make yourself great.
03:09Brady said something great a couple years ago when he was talking about how he prepared.
03:14Bill Belichick made him the greatest player in the history of the National Football League at that position.
03:20You know how?
03:21His preparation.
03:22Hey, he would tell him, what are you going to do on third and seven here when they're in banjo
03:26coverage?
03:27What are you going to do here when they're coming and they're going to give you two-eye safety?
03:31What are you going to do here?
03:32Constantly playing these war games.
03:34Then he would send them over to the personnel department on the players that he was going to play against.
03:39Know every single guy that's on the opposing defense and their skill set and their techniques.
03:45And understand what they're trying to do to you when it comes to the coordinators.
03:50All those things take time.
03:52All those things take time when, guess what?
03:55Not punching a time clock.
03:57Hey, Kyler Murray, your work ethic is what's going to make you great.
04:01Nobody believes you, dude.
04:04Nobody believes you're that guy.
04:06I mean, the Arizona Cardinals slid that in there.
04:10And he said it.
04:12He was like, hey, look, at the end of the day, okay, I'm going to go to Minnesota and they're
04:17going to see a guy who works at the game and works the game hard and prepares himself for the
04:22upcoming season.
04:24And I'm like, when would do we ever see that in Arizona?
04:27Dude, you have great talent.
04:28I do think you're small.
04:30You're at five, nine.
04:31I think you're one of the undersized guys.
04:33But I do think that you're a sensational talent.
04:35I really do.
04:37But work ethic?
04:39Dude, that's one of the perceptions that you have to change.
04:42That people have had a perception of you that you don't work hard enough.
04:46That you don't prepare.
04:48That you don't want to put the extra time in.
04:51That's what makes great quarterbacks great quarterbacks.
