00:01hey guys okay we gotta pack i am heading off on my year-long travels in less than a week
00:13and i have to pack my entire life into a suitcase like literally i will be living out of that
00:22suitcase for the rest of the year i'm mary jane i'm on a mission to visit every single country in
00:30the
00:30world it's been eight years we have been traveling the world and i would love to finish this goal
00:40within a year so i will be packing up my whole life and living on the road for the rest
00:49of the
00:49year you guys so i leave next week and from then my whole year will be on the road from
00:58country to
00:59country to country to country i have to finish these countries i am solo traveling this has been
01:06my life's mission and i'm ready to finish this thing strong so i need to pack when i pack i'm
01:16not packing
01:17for a cute little vacation i'm packing up my life so i have to pack in a way where i
01:26have everything
01:27that i need but nothing more than what i need because the lighter i can travel the better so
01:35the only thing i have is one big suitcase and ideally that's it that's all i want my purse
01:42in my suitcase that's it i do not want to be the bad girl with tons of stuff i don't
01:50need a ton of
01:51stuff i have already traveled that way before i used to travel where i needed six pairs of shoes and
01:58i
01:59needed three or four purses and i can't do it anymore so i am miss minimalist but i definitely could
02:08be more of a minimalist and every day i try to become more of a minimalist i've learned that that
02:13is what suits me best and what makes everything better minimalism wins when you are a traveler
02:22all whatever i can do to take weight off of me i'm gonna do it so uh an organization too

02:30matters so much uh just makes my life easier i need to be able to wake up you know have

02:39i need and nothing more so anyways i'm going to show you guys how i'm packing i went to muji

02:59i'll show you guys what i got and i'll show you how i'm organized i also wanted to mention that

04:32you know youtube is my job so um man help would make the difference between making this impossible
04:40impossible um it would meet it would help so much there's so many flights and so many visas and so
04:47many houses i mean so many airbnbs and so everything it adds up so much and um video i'd love
04:54to raise
04:55the whole thing in 30 days so um if you could i have two different amounts that would be really
05:01helpful
05:02a 10 donation would go towards a visa i have over 25 visas i have to get this year a
05:1015 donation would
05:12go towards a visa or some food um obviously i have to eat in all of these countries um which
05:19means i'm
05:19probably going to be eating out every day for the rest of the year because i won't really be able

05:24cook for the rest of the year because i'll be traveling so it would go towards some food 15 dollars
05:30a 15 donation would go towards some food or a visa and a 50 donation if you could donate 50

05:37go towards a flight man the flight if anyone ever asked me what is the most like what is the

05:45expensive thing about traveling all over the place it's the flights flights baby oh they get up there
05:52especially recently man i have so many flights i have to get on this year and so
05:5850 donation would help me with a flight so i have those two different amounts to get to all these
06:04countries and show you guys the world and keep you guys inspired and entertained and i take all of this
06:10very seriously so anyways let's jump into this organization video of me trying to pack up my life
06:17for the rest of the year and see if we can do this in a way where i'm very organized
06:22but
06:22okay so we did a little damage at muji
06:31let me show you what i got
06:34okay so i found these little makeup they're makeup organization boxes
06:43and although i like literally don't even wear makeup anymore like i haven't worn makeup in
06:50a long time here's why i've basically stopped wearing makeup it's too hard it adds extra weight
06:58to my suitcase and it's just it just adds an extra layer to my life that i don't need you
07:04know how easy
07:05it is to wake up and put moisturizer on my face a little mascara and out the door anything i'm
07:12nitpicking
07:12everything because anything to make my life easier um not i'm not saying my life is super hard but when
07:19you're traveling in foreign countries all the time and um it's also my job you know to bring you guys
07:26videos and content like i feel like during the day my brain is like going in 600 different directions
07:32i don't want to worry about makeup so i've stopped wearing it basically i just make sure my skin
07:38skincare is on point skincare now that's where
07:42i do
07:45i i do take it seriously because it's important to me
07:48so i got these little makeup organization things there's a there's a cap
07:54and i thought they'd be perfect to store
07:58um different things so i have another bag
08:02okay so i'll show you there's some other stuff in here too so i'll show you guys that in a
08:08second so
08:10these little makeup organizers that are meant to store makeup i they're so perfect for my suitcase
08:17for me to put things in so i used one box already for all of my food stuff so i
08:27won't be able to cook
08:28basically for the rest of the year i'll be in hotels and airbnbs maybe sometimes i'll be able to cook
08:37but for the majority of the time no i'll be eating out so i always travel with my own salt
08:44this is a
08:45very high quality mineral salt that i got here in japan i've got chopsticks just in case you know
08:53for emergencies i got a knife in case i get some fruit and i want to cut it i've got
08:59some pepper
09:00because sometimes you have to do your own seasoning you know some tea this is like a little matcha thing
09:07so yeah this is just like food supplies oh and this is like a little whiskey thing
09:12to get my whisk on so i just thought it was perfect to put right in my suitcase it doesn't
09:18fall over the
09:19place and then i could stack them on top of each other and it doesn't really it doesn't really open
09:24you know what i'm saying so i've got another one here with my other hands they're just perfect i was
09:32thinking in this one i could store my face masks so i have a bunch of face masks these are
09:38very important
09:39because all the flights i'm going to be on this year my skin is going to suffer so i'm trying
09:47i got
09:48so many face masks because if you didn't know flying dries your skin out like nobody's business
09:59so okay i don't know if the face masks are the face masks gonna go in here maybe not
10:08we're still figuring this thing out okay i'm gonna find something okay you know
10:14the skincare that i haven't opened yet can go in here so i've got a bunch of skincare
10:19this is a toner that is so good from media cube it's the turmeric toner it's so good
10:27um here's another face mask like i don't play about my skincare you know what i'm saying
10:33that is one thing that here's another rice toner
10:36yeah we'll put the extra skincare that i'm not necessarily like using in real time
10:42that's what that's what we'll do we got some essential oils got perfume this is my perfume
10:51this is another toner yeah that's what we'll do that's what we'll do the excess skin care so
11:00this is i have two of them so i have another one it's sitting on my bed i would say
11:05that eight out of
11:07ten beds that i sleep in in hotels or airbnbs are uncomfortable it doesn't matter what hotel i'm
11:15staying at i'm usually not comfortable on the bed so i have bought this pillow it is the softest
11:25gushiest thing so i have another one oh my gosh it's just so cozy so i figure if i'm in
11:32a really
11:32uncomfortable bed it wouldn't matter as much because i got my cozy pillows it's just so cozy and it's so
11:40soft so i got this it's gonna travel with me i have two of them they pack i like it
11:45because it can
11:46squish down in my suitcase it doesn't take up too much space these are snacks
11:53so um so yeah i got a pillow okay so i'm gonna pack away this is some these are little
12:03lightning strips okay i'm gonna pack this is some excess skin care that hasn't been opened yet so
12:14i know i just really like these two little storage things they pack really well in my suitcase they
12:20don't take up space and they just keep everything from flying all over the place the worst thing
12:28you can do is just chuck stuff in your suitcase it'll fly everywhere everything will fly everywhere
12:34and then you'll open up your suitcase and your cleanser will be next to your bible and your bible
12:40will be next to your your tea or something i don't know okay hold on those two little things help
12:49everything okay so i'm gonna put my face masks in here i think yeah i'm gonna put my face masks
12:55in here
12:56and then i'm gonna put my extra passport so i have an old passport that i keep with me because
13:05it has
13:07my chinese visa in it so i can't well i i wouldn't throw it out anyways but
13:14um so i have this little organizer but i don't like it because like it opens and stuff can fly
13:22out
13:23see like this is my old passport i filled it up but this passport has my chinese visa in it
13:31so
13:33i have to keep it on me at all times if i ever go to china or anything like that
13:38so and this is some
13:39of my money collection you guys know if you've been watching me that i've been collecting money from
13:46every country this is not all of it it's just some of it i collect money because that is just
13:54so cool one
13:54day i'll have a dollar from every country in the world you know so i bought this little thing here's
14:00just some paperwork um i've got an extra copy of my current passport in here in case i lose it
14:08i've got a letter my grandma wrote me in here i'll show you my grandma wrote me this letter
14:16i keep it on me at all times look mary jane p.s you are beautiful and don't forget it
14:27i can't i'm gonna cry right now just thinking about it um but yeah my grandma wrote me this
14:32letter and i keep it with me all the time i'm gonna keep that with me for the rest of
14:37my life
14:39so anyways um yeah little important documents i'll put them in here because if something spills
14:46nothing can get on this you know that's very important you need to be able to put your important
14:52stuff in a place where something spills because something will spill it's not if something spills
14:58it's when something spills something always spills no matter what you think you think you have
15:04everything tightened you think you you tighten the cap on everything it doesn't matter something
15:08is going to explode on the plane or whatever so okay that is sealed up and tucked away okay so
15:17i have a ton of these i love these little ziploc things from muji i have pads in here
15:24i do not do tampons we won't go there right now um i have another one of these i get
15:30them from
15:30muji it's just the perfect little contain i mean it's a perfect little um pouch because you can see
15:38exactly what's inside so you don't have to guess like what's in here so here's some of my stationery
15:43i love to journal this is all of my journaling and writing supplies and then i just showed you one
15:52yeah okay here's my pens but this is ruined so i'm gonna switch this out
15:56so muji has the best pens i freaking okay so pens are very important to me i write a lot
16:09i am always writing my travel plans i'm always journaling i'm always writing one of my books
16:14you guys know i've been writing books for years and i've tried a lot of different pens
16:20i'm a bit of a pen snob i can't just write with any pen i need a smooth creamy perfect

16:29to paper ratio does that make sense i don't think that means anything but basically what i'm saying
16:34is i've tried a lot of pens in the world muji makes the best pens end of story so i
16:41stock up on them
16:42every time i'm in japan because in japan each one of these pens are only 50 cents
16:49and if you buy muji pens i don't know and any other place in the world they're like more expensive
16:56so i always buy a lot of pens from muji so that i never run out so i always get
17:030.5 i'm a bit of a 0.5 girly if you know you know i've got a ton of
17:09the black ones
17:11i always need a pen every day of my life i use a pen so i can never have enough
17:17so i've got a ton of
17:18the black ones and of course i have another one of these pouches for my pens so i usually do
17:25my travel
17:26plans like plans i'll write down my plans in the black and then i use and obviously i do my
17:36journaling
17:38and my writing in the black pens and then i'll do like video ideas youtube video ideas with the red
17:46pen
17:47i'll write down videos that i'm planning to make with the red and then i use the green plan for
17:53budgeting i'll write down the prices of flights and hotels and
18:01um visas and with the green pen and uh there's a ruler and there's some other colors so i don't
18:09really use them though so yeah these pens are everything they're very important and then
18:16an obscure marker i don't use markers that much but you never know okay that's my little pen bag
18:24i love these clear bags because it keeps my suitcase very organized i can i know exactly when i need
18:31something i can just go grab for it okay all of my current skincare is in here
18:38everything i'm currently using like every day so um i got this when i was in brazil is there a
18:45brazilian flat like somewhere yeah brazilian i got this it was like handmade in brazil how cute
18:52but anyways yeah just toothpaste toothbrush my oil cleanser um
19:01face wash everything is in here that i use every morning so that keeps everything handy
19:09that's like my only pop of color i don't want i want everything neutral
19:15it just makes my brain more relaxed in all the chaos oh i got some new highlighters i'm always
19:24highlighting because i love to highlight when i annotate books i love annotating books when i'm
19:29reading i'm always highlighting i'm highlighting highlighting highlighting so i got some new highlighters i think
19:36i'm just gonna chuck these in my stationery bag so let's see if they fit in here
19:45let's see of course i got these for muji muji has the best stuff you guys i mean in other
19:54countries
19:55muji is more expensive but here in japan muji is so affordable which is why i like getting a bunch

20:11okay i'm all about a highlighter okay i love a highlighter i think i'm just gonna take them out

20:45when things are organized when everything has its own little place in case my brain just is just like

21:18i've got so many books the books i just chuck in my suitcase it's like
21:24the books are very much a guilty pleasure because they make my suitcase so much heavier but i i refuse
21:31to part ways with my books so i have so many books over here um i just they make my
21:39suitcase like
21:4020 pounds heavier but i can't not have my books by the way this is a book i'm writing right

21:55chucked in my suitcase and then uh so i got a bunch of face masks like i told you guys
22:02face masks are
22:04very important because i fly a lot and flying will wreck your skin flying on an airplane dries your skin
22:16like nobody's business so i stocked up on these i love these biodance real deep masks you can wear them
22:25for like 10 hours they work and they're really cheap in japan these face masks in japan are two
22:35dollars i think if you buy them any else anywhere else in the world they're like
22:41they're like 15 a piece so anyways i've got a bunch of face masks i love how cheap face masks

22:52know why i can't say face mask these are lip masks we need everything to combat the dryness
22:59that happens during a flight oh these are little nose patches but i almost never use them i just don't
23:06feel like my nose gets white heads or black heads but i just have them just in case these are

23:12patches you know just anything for an emergency skin situation and then i'm gonna put this in the same
23:19white bag that basically fits
23:27yeah that basically fits you guys i'm obsessed with these little bags i mean they just make life so easy

24:11i've got all a bunch of
24:12matcha that i've bought here in japan and then a matcha a little matcha bowl i have a bigger one
24:19i've got this little cup in case i want to drink an iced matcha i usually make an iced matcha

24:26mason jar and then yeah i just got a bunch of matcha in here i actually have another matcha
24:32i need i just got this matcha today i heard very good things about this matcha
24:39so yeah put that in there this is my matcha bag
24:46i should have enough matcha to last me the rest of the year we'll see
24:51you see how everything's kind of monotoned either black or clear this has been something
24:58i've learned over the years let me put you on game let me let me put you on game your

25:05um our brains are literally limited we can only have so much stimulation and in in in a 24-hour
25:16period
25:16you know that's why we have to go to sleep every day our brains are not powerful enough they're
25:23powerful but they need they only can give off a certain amount of you know power every single
25:30day if you've got chaos going on around you your house is a mess your room is a mess your
25:37purse is a
25:37mess your suitcase is a mess your brain literally can't function right your brain is going to be going
25:44100 different directions you're going to feel clogged you're going to feel overwhelmed that's
25:49why having a clean organized space even if it's not your suitcase it could be your work desk it could
25:55be
25:55your room it could be your office it has to be organized or other your brain isn't working right
26:03that's why being organized is very very very important when i look at my suitcase and it's a mess
26:11i can't do anything like my brain freezes and seizes up and i get overwhelmed i can't do anything
26:18i shut down when my space and my suitcase is organized i'm like okay i can i can get my
26:23stuff
26:24done i can boom boom boom i have a plan my day everything goes smoother everything goes smoother so
26:32i've learned not to have all these different colors going on everything in my suitcase is black clean it
26:40keeps everything clean or clear it's super organized and my brain doesn't have to fire every time i i
26:48look at my suitcase i hope i'm making sense um and i prefer that i very much want to minimalize
26:56the craziness so that i can just be like a i can work more like a machine and less emotional

27:03overwhelmed all the time so um anyways so these little packages i love them so much we've got

27:25little iced matcha pen and then oh that needs to be cleaned but this is how i make mine i

27:34the plane with me so i can make a matcha on the plane because you always need a matcha on

27:41matcha is very good on an airplane i'll tell you why you're when you're sitting on an airplane in an
27:47enclosed space with artificial air your body uh basically is in a state of stress matcha calms you
27:55down matcha lowers cortisol matcha literally has core fill in it so it detoxes your body
28:03um it's very good to have on an airplane anyways this is my little to-go that i bring on
28:09the airplane
28:10and then i just have i literally have one pair of shoes and i have one purse and then i've
28:15got my
28:16clothes that's it i've got some extra my extra skin care is here my current skin care is here
28:24this is the only pop of color and then food supplies in case i need salt or pepper or a

28:49in my suitcase um which is pretty boring i just have you know some t-shirts and some jeans socks

30:03it's going to be hard i i also have a medicine bag because i got really sick last year i
30:09try to
30:10anticipate um food poisoning and all the crazy stuff that happens in the world but i am ready and i'm

30:20scared and yes i will be visiting every country in the world we are not going to stop until we
30:27finish
30:29um i don't have everything planned i don't have all the money raised that i need to actually do
30:36something like this i'm just going and figuring it out as i go along seriously every day i'm just
30:43figuring it out as i go along i don't have everything together i don't have every you know
30:50like i'm not just like let's go travel every country in the world because i can and it's easy
30:54heck no i just jump and then i just hope for a parachute you know what i'm saying like that's
31:01literally how i live my life i'm just kind of like i'm just gonna jump and think later

33:43be one of those people if you want to be but no i say this in the kindest way nobody

33:48you're wearing nobody cares if you don't feel like you have a bunch of cute outfits
33:55pack and if that's a reason it's keeping you from traveling because i do know some people think this
33:59way if you don't pack up some jeans and some running sneakers or some loafers or whatever you
34:06have in your room in your closet and a t-shirt and and get your butt on a plane if
34:11that is the
34:12reason i just know that for some people they feel like they don't have the right outfits to travel
34:17oh what is wrong with this i mean i used to be i used to be one of those people
34:21i would be so upset if i didn't have the right outfit for the right location
34:27we're experiencing things this was never about how we looked
34:33so i've totally changed i don't know if you guys can tell you probably can tell how much i've
34:37changed if you watch me over the years but i throw on a t-shirt and jeans because my goal
34:42is not
34:42for people to look at me and think about how cute i am or how cute my outfit is i
34:46want to go experience
34:47the world so if i'm wearing same five ten shirts on repeat don't judge me because i'm not traveling so
34:54i can look cute in pictures i'm really not not anymore i'm traveling to experience the world
