00:00You tell me as you get ready for college basketball tournaments, the tournaments for the conference versus NCAA tournament.
00:07Is there any difference in how you prepare for conference basketball versus the NCAA on how a coach preps his
00:16teams to get ready for the postseason?
00:18Yeah, it's actually pretty different than because of the fact of no going back to back in conference play.
00:27You see teams playing four games and four nights. You got to manage minutes.
00:31You know, you have to do a lot of different things. Whereas at the NCAA tournament, it's either a day
00:35between or three or so games between.
00:39That's why when you get to the tournament, you got to look at guys that are like really good tacticians
00:45in regards to short rest,
00:48meaning next day of a conference tournament or one day off in between, let's say, the round of 64 and
00:54around the 32.
00:55So, Tom Izzo, really good at coming up with different things that you are not ready if you have not
01:03seen.
01:04Dan Hurley doesn't get a lot of credit. What he should do is get a lot of credit for where
01:09they are defensively and his half court offense.
01:14So, I think that becomes a thing. Back in the day, Seals, you know this.
01:17You never wanted to play a man team and then go play Jimmy Boeheim in Syracuse, right?
01:23Because it's a completely different style.
01:26Pete Carrillo with the Princeton offense.
01:29When you see X and then you got to go around and see Y the next day or, you know,
01:3448 hours later, Big Seals,
01:36that becomes really hard and not a lot of prep time to get ready for that next matchup.
01:42So, what teams do you think are starting to separate themselves from the rest of the group?
01:48Or is it still, do you think right now, is it five teams and then the field?
01:52Or are you starting to see how big is that pool where you would go,
01:56these five or six or seven teams versus the field on winning the national championship?
02:01Tell me where that number is right now.
02:03Maybe some teams that are separating themselves.
02:06Well, Big Seals, you know, obviously Duke's win, and we talked before last week's game versus Michigan,
02:12just showed how great of a team they is.
02:13And we saw Michigan's guards struggle mightily defensively, offensively.
02:17We did see them come back, obviously, with a really good performance against Illinois last night and Brad Underwood's team.
02:22Obviously, Michigan is there. Duke is there.
02:25I think Arizona's there. Arizona's got a really big game with Kansas today.
02:28Let's see if they can get the win after losing at Fog Island earlier in the year.
02:32But then Big Seals, there's other teams that I think people need to start looking at.
02:37Did you guys see what St. – I went on Saturday night, Big Seals.
02:41You know what? I was there at Villanova, UConn, and saw what Dan Hurley did in the first half,
02:45only to beat St. John's by 30-some-odd points and hold a team without a field goal for the
02:52last 15 minutes.
02:53Who does that?
02:55So now UConn, Big Seals is playing at that level where like, uh-oh, here comes UConn,
03:01and then there's Florida.
03:02This time last year, right, Sills?
03:04This is where they turned the corner, Todd Golden's team.
03:08Completely different team now with the three big-headed monster of Thomas Howe, Alex Conlon, and Ruben Chinilou.
03:14They are playing as good as anybody in the country.
03:18I don't want anyone to get in Florida's way because I don't know.
03:22Like last year, we're going to lose another game.
03:24We're going to lose another game.
03:24We're going to lose another game.
03:24We're going to lose another game.
