00:00Keep an eye along the southeast coast of the United States early next week.
00:05We have the potential, a low one right now for tropical development.
00:10Here's how it comes together.
00:12The big dip in the jet stream that's bringing all the cool air into the eastern half of the United
00:17States late this week
00:19moves off the coast as we head towards Sunday.
00:22Now, you have two branches of the jet stream, the northern branch and the southern branch.
00:26That southern branch of the jet stream and northern branch splits.
00:30The northern branch of the jet stream moves well off to the north and east,
00:35but the southern branch of the jet stream sits off the Carolina coast.
00:40And as we get into early next week, you start to get an upper level low to form.
00:45There it is as we get in the Sunday morning and it's that upper low that slowly translates to the
00:52surface
00:52and we start getting a storm to form off the Carolina coast early next week.
00:58Keep in mind, water temperatures, plenty warm in the 80s.
01:02So we expect that storm to strengthen.
01:06Keep in mind, from the Carolinas all the way up into New England,
01:11that area is still trying to recover from the nor'easter that battered them late in September.
01:18As we head into early next week, there's that storm.
01:21It'll be off the Carolina coast.
01:22At the very least, there's going to be gusty winds and rough surf from the Carolinas all the way toward
01:28Florida.
01:29But late next week, that storm could move toward the mid-Atlantic
01:33and up in the New England, hitting an area that's still trying to recover.
