00:00Tonight, Joe, four games, four bangers, and take a look at the seven o'clock games.
00:05Number one is St. John's Duke. Let's cross that one off.
00:07Alabama and Michigan, you want speed? You got it.
00:11You want efficiency? You got it.
00:13You want a total at 173.5? You got it.
00:18And Michigan as a favorite at minus 8.5.
00:21Fireworks tonight, Joe, to say the least.
00:23What's your spread line here?
00:25Yeah, well, listen, Donnie, it was somewhat, I guess, chalky yesterday, except for Iowa, of course, there.
00:33But listen, Michigan has been the favorite to win the national championship for a while now.
00:39Them in Arizona. And now they got a tag on Alabama.
00:42I think this is the most dangerous dog, Donnie, Alabama, simply because the three ball is the ultimate equalizer.
00:51And nobody shoots it better than Alabama.
00:55They're coming off a game, Donnie, where it felt like everything they chucked up went in here.
00:59If they have that kind of game again, and listen, Michigan's going to dominate the paint, but Alabama wants nothing
01:05to do with the paint.
01:06So this is a very dangerous dog tonight for Michigan with Alabama.
01:12I think Michigan has enough, of course, to win.
01:15But are they going to be winning by double digits, which is what you better be thinking if you are
01:20laying these points with them tonight against Bama?
01:23Ah, fantastic stuff.
01:24Yeah, boy, it is going to be jumping in D.C. tonight.
01:27Game number one, Duke-St. John's.
01:28Game number two, Michigan State and Connecticut, Joe.
01:31Overnight lines, minus one and a half.
01:33You know where they sit today?
01:34Still at minus one and a half as a favorite for UConn here.
01:37And a total very low compared to the game we just talked about.
01:40One and a half, Sparty and Izzo taking on Hurley and the Huskies.
01:46What's that spread line tonight?
01:47Yeah, this feels like the ultimate rock fight.
01:51You got two coaches that are similar in how they like to win games.
01:55And it always starts with the physicality, the defense, getting it done on the boards here.
02:01And that's what these two teams do.
02:02This isn't the greatest Michigan State team.
02:05And by the way, this isn't the best UConn team that we have seen over the last, oh, I don't
02:09know, four or five seasons, right?
02:11But I think what we're going to get is both of these teams and both of these coaches, they're prepped,
02:16they're ready to go.
02:17This is a rock fight.
02:19My question, Donnie, is how many points do you think it's going to take to win this game?
02:23I think 70 wins it.
02:26And if 70 wins it, it's going to be real close with that total there.
02:31I tend to lean the under like we did with Illinois and Houston last night.
02:36But I do think that this is going to come down to final possession type of game between UConn and
02:42Michigan State.
02:43Absolutely fantastic night of college basketball.
02:46Four great games.
02:46And again, rolls over to the Sweet 16, from the Sweet 16 to the Elite Eight on Saturday and Sunday.
02:51A fantastic weekend here.
02:52Sweet 16, part two tonight.
02:54Four games.
02:55St. John's, Duke, Alabama, Michigan.
02:57You take on Michigan State, Connecticut.
02:58And then you follow it up with Tennessee and Iowa State.
03:01But it all starts in D.C.
03:03St. John's and Duke exactly the way we like it.
03:07Two fan bases that will be able to travel to D.C.
03:09And they should be able to get it on.
03:11A minus six and a half point favorite here for the Duke Blue Devils here.
03:14And the total, Joe, listed at 141.5.
03:17The atmosphere should be electric.
03:19We just hope the game actually lives up to it here.
03:22Yeah, it's, listen.
03:25I think this is a game, Donnie, that's going to be a bit of a slog, I think, at least
03:30to start.
03:31There is clearly one better offense than the other in this matchup here.
03:36I don't think Duke's defense has gotten enough credit throughout the season on what they've been able to do.
03:42But it's all about, and all I keep hearing is about the Johnny's defense, this, the Johnny's defense, that.
03:47Well, against top 30 defensive teams this year, I mean, Duke went 11-0 straight up and 8-2-1
03:54against the spread.
03:55So, yes, the Johnny's defense is good, but they're a horrific shooting team, Donnie.
04:00And at some point, you've got to make some buckets, right?
04:04And I just don't trust them to do that.
04:07So, to me, I think this is going to be Duke in the second half eventually pulling away.
04:13But, you know, unless they pull out some sort of, all of a sudden, they become one of the best
04:17shooting teams we've seen.
04:18The Johnny's could very well be in trouble in this game.
04:22Two losses on the season for Duke here.
04:23Texas Tech beat them 82-81 on the neutral court, and then they lost to Carolina 71-68 on some
04:28late theatrics there for North Carolina.
04:30But also, Foster, 6-5 guard, missed five straight games.
04:34Chance for a game-time decision tonight, which means he's not going to be completely healthy.
04:39But sometimes I think it's more gamesmanship than not.
04:42I wonder if he plays tonight, Joe, but that could be big news if he does.
04:45Yeah, but even if he does, Donnie, I don't know what that brings to this matchup here.
04:51Because, A, he just had foot surgery a month ago, right?
04:55I mean, I don't know.
04:57It could be a nice boost here, but I don't know that it's going to bring or make a big
05:04difference for this matchup in this game.
05:07It'd be great to get him out there if I'm Duke, but I just don't know that he's – they
05:11don't need him to beat the Johnny's.
05:13Let's put it that way.
05:15Let's hear from Rick Pitino here, see what he's got going on.
05:18Of Cinderella because of NIL and the portal, you know, maybe we're not going to see another George Mason or
05:24FAU get to the Final Four.
05:25Are you worried about that, and do you think teams need to have an $8, $10 million NIL budget to
05:31have a chance to go deep in the tournament now?
05:34I'm not concerned about it.
05:36I think you will see it again.
05:38I think you will see it again.
05:39But I do feel what's even better than that is the fact that the Blue Bloods no longer control basketball
05:48any longer.
05:49There's no difference between Kentucky, North Carolina, than Illinois or St. John's.
05:57There's no difference anymore.
05:59There's no difference between Michigan State, who's a blue blood, to any of the other teams from the conferences, from
06:08Mississippi when they get it going.
06:11It's all going to be the same.
06:12You're going to see 40 to 50 teams all the same.
06:16So there's no such a thing as a blue blood anymore.
06:19There's no difference between North Carolina State and somebody else.
06:24Everybody's the same.
06:26Everybody is the same in basketball, and that's what's going to make it a great product.
06:31But the question was asked to him, are there going to be any Cinderella's?
06:34He basically goes like, well, there's no more blue bloods because every Power Five school has money, which means the
06:39other schools don't have money, which means what we're seeing now is we're not getting those upsets advancing because once
06:45that team gets good, those teams, those teams players all transfer out the next year to go, Joe, to the
06:50blue bloods.
06:52Yeah, no, Cinderella's a dead.
06:53I mean, stop it.
06:55There is no mid-major.
06:57I mean, and just look at the amount of blowouts that we had this year.
07:01Look at the amount of blowouts we've had the last two years, Donnie, in the thing.
07:06Cinderella's exist in the round of 64 and maybe, very doubtfully, in the round of 32.
07:13So if you don't get any of those crazy upsets here within the first two days, you're not getting them
07:19at this point in the tournament.
07:21It's not going to happen.
07:22There is a clear, and I mean a clear, elite-level group of teams, blue bloods or not, and then
07:29there seems to be that second tier, and then there's everybody else.
07:34So, yeah, I know.
07:35The blowouts this tournament last year tell you everything you need to know about the chance of a Cinderella making
07:41it to the Sweet 16 or Elite Eight.
07:43Alabama going to take on Michigan tonight, getting eight and a half points, and here's one of my favorite talking
07:48points of the tournament here.
07:49Coaches that have been in their institution for a while just can't answer a simple question.
07:53Hey, are you looking to leave?
07:54No, I love it here.
07:56I'm never leaving.
07:56Here's Nate Oates.
07:57Let's hear what he has to say.
07:58With respect to what you said at the beginning about wanting to be at Alabama, you know, a couple years
08:03ago when you guys made that Final Four run, you and Alabama did a contract extension before the tournament.
08:09I was curious, why have you not done that this time, and where do those conversations stand?
08:15Well, one is the contract they gave me back when we did that one was pretty good.
08:23So, I'm getting a – listen.
08:27So, I'd say this a lot.
08:28I am a high school coach that caught a couple breaks in life, and there's probably high school coaches better
08:34than me out there that just didn't catch the breaks.
08:36As a matter of fact, I know there's high school coaches better than me.
08:38And so, when my salary goes up a half million dollars every year, you know how long it took me
08:45to make a half million dollars at Rymus?
08:47Like, it was – I got paid $4,700 a year to coach basketball for 11 years.
08:53So, I'm not going to them asking them to redo – like, we redid the contract, and I went to
09:00a Final Four, and we didn't redo it because they got good faith in me, and I got good faith
09:04in them.
09:05And we've had discussions – I'm open to redoing them, but I'm not really looking to leave.
09:11I'm pretty honest with them.
09:12So, if they come up with one that makes sense to do, it's good.
09:17And we'll – I'd love to stay there, but I'm not really looking, so –
09:21You don't have an offer at hand right now?
09:23No, I don't have an offer at hand, but we've had some discussions.
09:27Oh, his agent is burning up the telephone lines.
09:30Hey, North Carolina, if I say that we're in the mix here, you know what Alabama's going to do?
09:35Double my salary.
09:38Leverage.
09:38I mean, that's what it's all about.
09:41Absolute leverage here.
09:42Yeah, Nate Oates isn't going anywhere unless he wants to, Donnie.
09:45That's the other thing.
09:46Unless he wants to.
09:48Like, it's all – like, I always like, even if you lie.
09:51Nate Oates, are you looking – absolutely not.
09:54I told Alabama and their fans and my players, this is my final destination.
09:58Just do like Will Wade did.
10:00But here today, going tomorrow, go to another school.
10:02It just sounds better, but before a big game, I'm not looking to leave,
10:06but you might want to pay me here just the way it is in college athletics.
10:10Oh, it's time for some guests, people.
10:12Don't we have a good one right now?
10:14You are never going to guess who this is.
10:16Let me give you a hint here.
10:17Formerly of In Play Sports Tonight, formerly of Moneyline, and also the Early Line,
10:22and now Game Time Decisions.
10:25Donnie writes that.
10:26It's Joe Ranieri, and it's the Kevin Walsh.
10:29Hey, welcome in.
10:30That's a great sender in here for you, isn't it?
10:32It was perfect.
10:33Yeah, really nice.
10:36I loved In Play Sports Tonight, so I'm very proud to be formerly of In Play Sports Tonight.
10:41What a treat that was.
10:43Now, by the way, let me just introduce to the people out if they don't know.
10:46There was a bunch of show called Mike and Mike.
10:48It was Greeny and Golik, and there was one guy that was like,
10:50you know what, can't just do this job with the other guy.
10:52Moved on, took other jobs.
10:54That guy was Kevin Walsh here, but I'm still standing, though, Kevin.
10:57Can't get rid of me at this point.
10:58What a setup.
10:59What a setup.
11:00It was a nice intro and a half, and then here in February, my goodness, man.
11:08But, yeah, we're here.
11:09Listen, I'm basically hunting you down now.
11:12You are.
11:14Maybe there's something in the future there.
11:16You never know at this point, but let's get down to the business, Kevin,
11:18because I got to tell you, Sweet 16 and Elite 8, like I tell you all the time,
11:22like I don't really like when the Cinderella's get involved,
11:24and they're not really here at this point, tonight's card, Kevin, all four games,
11:28no excuses.
11:29Like, I don't have to wake up tomorrow early so I can watch all of these games play out.
11:34I had Arizona last night.
11:35Couldn't watch a lick of it.
11:36Woke up to see I covered easily.
11:37But talk to me about these games tonight, and maybe, Kevin,
11:40what's your favorite game of the night here?
11:43Man, it's a great question.
11:45I think it has to be St. John's-Duke.
11:47Like, I know that would be the popular answer, but rightfully so.
11:52And I think in the way the, you know, it landed for the committee,
11:57Duke-Kansas would have also been the answer if that was the game that we were getting.
12:02That was kind of the game that I was rooting for
12:04because we didn't get Boozer versus Peterson early in the season.
12:08But, yes, settling for St. John's and Rick Pitino I think is pretty good.
12:14I know a lot of people feel like St. John's are alive in this game.
12:17I don't disagree.
12:18I have been eyeing up this total a little bit, though, at 141.5 here.
12:23It feels a little high.
12:26We've seen St. John's against good defensive teams play some low-scoring basketball.
12:32Duke ranks as maybe the best team defensively in the country here.
12:38So, at 141.5, this – also, St. John's cannot shoot.
12:45Like, it's a tough thing.
12:47And Pitino's very open about it.
12:48And he's like, ah, we're going to have to try and make them pay.
12:51And they kind of made Kansas pay a little bit, specifically in the second half.
12:55I'm not sure they make Duke pay from beyond the arc.
12:58So, it feels like a grinder of a basketball game to start the night.
13:04It's crazy, Gabriel.
13:06You look at it, right?
13:07The Johnnies lost to Bama by seven, 11 to Auburn, one to Iowa State.
13:14And the thing that all three of those teams have in common is they're all top 30 rated offenses.
13:20Duke is the sixth best offense in the country here.
13:24It just feels like if the Johnnies are playing from behind, what happens then?
13:29Do we trust the offense enough to be able to overcome that kind of deficit?
13:34Not really, right?
13:36Like, they'd have to magically get hot.
13:39And you're right to bring up some of those games, though, Joe, where they weren't even losing those games because
13:45they couldn't score with them.
13:47They couldn't get stops, right?
13:48I think they might have given up 100 to Bama, roughly, give or take.
13:52I know that was early season.
13:53The one interesting thing is Patino and the press, right?
14:00And everybody's seen it.
14:02I remember I own a St. John's.
14:05I went to the game.
14:06I thought he was just pressing to be mean.
14:08I'm like, surely this isn't going to work like this against real basketball teams.
14:13And then on the broadcast, they're like, Bill Self has spent four straight days practicing inbounds, and it's not helped.
14:20Duke is the kind of team.
14:21Duke somewhat lost to Houston last year because they didn't know how to inbound the basketball.
14:27And secretly, John Shire made zero adjustments to that fact.
14:31Just saying.
14:32So, again, it just feels like an under to me here at 141.5.
14:38Now, you're talking about unders in that game for Duke and St. John's.
14:41We'll get to the other 7 o'clock time slot tonight, and that's Alabama and Michigan.
14:45One 73.5 at some outlets right now.
14:49You're looking at two teams that are ultra efficient, two teams that get up and down the court, and a
14:52lot of fun.
14:53But it is high stakes, neutral court, Kevin.
14:56How do we feel about Alabama and Michigan tonight?
14:59Feels like Groundhog Day.
15:01But just for me, this will make sense for no one else.
15:04When Michigan drew St. Louis in the round of 32, my first thought was Michigan should score at will in
15:11this game.
15:12A couple of notes later, you know what?
15:14I'll take St. Louis plus the points.
15:16This will be the right idea.
15:18I think Michigan's still scoring.
15:19So, then they draw Alabama.
15:21I'm like, well, come on.
15:22I mean, obviously, they're going to score at will against the Crimson Tide.
15:27I'm probably going to end up on Alabama.
15:30I'm still waiting for the bigger upset here in this round.
15:34We had two chances at it yesterday.
15:36One came close in Texas, and then whatever Arkansas did in that game.
15:42And we've kind of got two shots at it tonight, right?
15:44Either St. John's or Alabama pull off the upset here.
15:49Bama should win.
15:50Well, Bama has the chance to win the math battle, right?
15:55Michigan's going to look to score it inside.
15:57Bama's going to bombs away from three.
15:59And Michigan's willing to let them shoot threes.
16:01So, if they can stay hot.
16:03The thing that works nicely for Alabama is as hot as they were against Texas Tech,
16:09that was basically a week ago, right?
16:11When they play those, you know, two games in three days kind of thing,
16:14that's where all of a sudden it's like, oh, you know, now we're cold
16:19because we just wasted all the bullets, basically, we had in the chamber here.
16:23Bama feels live to me, guys.
16:28173 points.
16:29And I still can't sweat out an under in this, Kev.
16:32Like, there's no way I can take an under in this game.
16:35This game is especially, listen, we know Alabama's going to take what?
16:39They're averaging 54% right now in the tournament?
16:42Shots from three?
16:42That wouldn't shock me if that gets closer to 60% before the night's over.
16:48Yeah.
16:49I mean, that's even – and we saw it last night, right, with Arizona and Arkansas,
16:54where I'm sure – and I didn't bet this total either direction.
16:57But people were like, ah, that's probably a little high.
16:59165.5 tournament game.
17:01How much?
17:02200 points in the game.
17:03There was 200 points in that basketball game.
17:07What a Friday in store for the people.
17:08What a weekend in store for the people here, Joe.
17:12So we go over games where it's like, okay, NBA action is going to be on tonight.
17:15We've got 20-point spreads.
17:16You've got the Sweet 16, the two 7 o'clock start games.
17:19I cannot wait to watch those.
17:20Then you have the two later games that will be on.
17:22Major League Baseball starts at 4.35 p.m. Eastern and rolls right into the night, Joe.
17:27So good stuff is lined up.
17:29But at this point, Joe, we like to reach out to the people
17:32and see what they're digging on here in our Fade the Public Poll.
17:42My brackets, Joe, when I filled them out, had Arizona cutting down the nets.
17:47My boys are looking pretty good right now.
17:49Had me on a nice 7.5-point favorite yesterday.
17:51Covered easily, but the question we asked at SportsGrid on X in our Fade the Public Poll,
17:56which Sweet 16 winner from Thursday do you have going the furthest here?
18:01Arizona, Illinois, Purdue, Iowa here.
18:04Iowa getting absolutely – that's two straight days, Joe.
18:08We've actually had an opportunity for a vote.
18:11Get no votes out here.
18:12Nobody's believing in big corn country out there and the farmers.
18:16What's going on?
18:17Well, I'll tell you this.
18:19Ben McCollum is slowly becoming the signet of college basketball, Donnie,
18:24because this guy can flat-out coach,
18:26and this guy can flat-out get the best out of his players.
18:31And they're playing a brand of basketball, Donnie, that they can adapt,
18:34but they are dictating games, and they become extremely dangerous.
18:39So what they did to Florida wasn't exactly a fluke because they did it again last night to Nebraska.
18:45So they are a dangerous – and nine seed, is that considered Cinderella enough, Donnie?
18:52Don't be shocked if they can somehow manage to once again beat a team they have no chance again.
18:59Yeah, Arizona tipping the scales here at 70%.
19:02It's no surprise there because it's always like what you saw last,
19:04and Arizona was ultra-competitive and looked great yesterday.
19:08Already we know have a solid basketball team moving on into the Elite Eight,
19:11and maybe they are going to be the team that cuts down the nets.
19:14But a lot more big-time basketball action coming your way tonight in the Sweet 16,
19:18which means we've got to give the people some bets that they need to cash them tickets.
19:22Friday's payday.
19:23Here's bye-bye-bye.
19:24Bye-bye.
19:25Bye-bye.
19:31Let's go, Joe.
19:32Where are we heading tonight?
19:33Hardwood, NHL hockey, NDA action, baseball.
19:36Where are we going tonight?
19:37We're the best bet.
19:39Oh, let's go to the Sweet 16 here in the East region, right?
19:44Let's go.
19:44And we've got two of the best coaches of all time here, right?
19:49You've got Hurley, and you've got Coach Izzo, and you've got Michigan State,
19:53and you've got UConn.
19:54But not all trends are created the same, Donnie.
19:58And I don't know that I want to step in front of this one here, because Hurley, over the last
20:03four years in the NCAA tournament,
20:05you ready for this?
20:0715-1 against the number.
20:09They've got experience.
20:11They have been there.
20:13They have done this before.
20:14They got a championship pedigree.
20:16As much as I love Izzo, I think this is all UConn here tonight.
20:21I am not doubting Hurley.
20:23I'm not doubting the experience they have on it.
20:26I think UConn wins this game, advances, and represents the Big East in style coming up.
20:32How about that?
20:33You know what I'm going to do, Joe?
20:34I'm going to keep it in the East.
20:36And, matter of fact, we're going to be neighbors here.
20:37We're going to keep it in the same arena tonight.
20:39Game number one, 7-10 start, East Coast here, St. John's and Duke.
20:43Yesterday, I told you, there was two pretty good teams on the carpet yesterday,
20:46should I say, on the hardwood.
20:47And I was like, you know what?
20:48Nobody's betting Arizona.
20:49Why not?
20:50Arizona's a good basketball team.
20:51Hammer job.
20:52Easy victory over Arkansas.
20:54Tonight, I'm going to do the same.
20:55And I hope it's the same result with an easy blowout.
20:57You take a look at this number, Joe.
20:58St. John's and Duke opened up at 6.5.
21:01It still sits at 6.5 today.
21:03Did you know Duke's only getting about 35% of the tickets here in that game against St. John's?
21:07I like St. John's.
21:08Loved them as a five-seat, thought they could advance.
21:10But the advancement ends tonight with the Duke Blue Devils.
21:13I'm taking the Duke Blue Devils and laying the 6.5 points like I laid the 7.5 last night
21:18with Arizona.
21:19Duke, by a touchdown, gets us the victory here tonight, Joe.
21:23Keep it in the East, 2-0.
21:25That's what we're striving to do tonight.
21:28Yeah, I mean, look, that got as high as 7.5, Donnie.
21:31And it's just the public, you know, looks at this defensive team of the Johnnies and thinks,
21:37Yep, well, they're going to be the ones that dictate what happens in this game.
21:42A lot of teams have thought that this year, Donnie, against Duke.
21:46And guess what?
21:47Double-digit losses.
21:49And that could very well be what we're looking at tonight.
21:52How about this one, Joe?
21:53If I gave you a free wager tonight, Alabama and Michigan, 173.5.
21:5882% of the tickets are on the under, Joe.
22:02Can they get to the 180s in this game?
22:03What do you think?
22:04Well, both team totals over for me.
22:07How's that?
22:08That tells you where this game is going.
22:09Yep.
22:10Man, 90-90.
22:1291-90 final.
22:13Cash in those tickets.
22:14Have some fun and look forward to the weekend here.
22:17Awesome stuff.
22:18Prediction.
22:19Market's Edge is coming up next.
22:20More fun to be had at the Sports Grid Network.
22:22We keep you involved all the way through.
22:25It's Joe and Donnie.
22:26Don't you go anywhere.
22:31Prediction Market's Edge right here on the Early Line, a Friday edition, a new way to
22:35take a look at investor of money.
22:36Get in, get out, get paid.
22:38All in a day's work, Joe.
22:39We got some action tonight in the Sweet 16 and in the NBA and also a little Major League
22:45Baseball sprinkled in as well.
22:46Good time to be out there as a sports fanatic, Joe, no?
22:50Oh, Donnie, that's, I mean, the greatest time of year, is it not here?
22:54I mean, March Madness, right smack in the middle now.
22:57We've got a lead eight.
22:58We'll have Final Four.
23:00And we still got another college tournament coming up around the corner.
23:03I mean, there's a lot going on here.
23:05A little something for everybody in the predictive markets.
23:09Boy, a lot of value in some of these spots.
23:12A lot of value, which includes Alabama and Michigan tonight.
23:16We had a video earlier on the Early Line that was like,
23:18Hey, Nate O's, yeah, maybe I'll come back.
23:20Maybe I won't.
23:21Maybe I'll get more money.
23:22Well, maybe you'll be asking those questions if Michigan thumps them tonight.
23:25Why?
23:25Michigan currently trading at an 80% chance to win this basketball game.
23:30Alabama at only 20% here as the chance.
23:34You take a look on the points.
23:3610.5 on Cal sheet that we have Michigan favored by,
23:40which is currently trading at 45 cents.
23:43So $100 investment.
23:44If you think Michigan wins by 11 plus, that pays back 223, Joe.
23:48That's plus money.
23:49But how about this?
23:50Points are expected.
23:51One, 72 and a half, Joe.
23:55That's excitement.
23:56It is.
23:57But let me take it even a step further here, Donnie.
24:01Because if you do think there is a path for Alabama to win this game,
24:07forget this game.
24:08Head over to the national championship market,
24:11where right now Alabama is trading at one cent.
24:18One cent to win the national championship.
24:21And what do we say, Donnie?
24:22I don't need them to win the national championship.
24:25I need them to win tonight.
24:27Because if they win tonight, Donnie,
24:29you're going to get way more than what's on the money line for them.
24:33That you're talking about going from one cent, Donnie,
24:35to 20 cents possibly here.
24:38That market will go through the roof.
24:40That is where you can profit really well with the predictive market.
24:45So take the points,
24:47but take the national championship market,
24:50because that price is better than anything you're going to get
24:53in just the game markets here.
24:55No doubt about it.
24:57And tonight, if you want to rock fight,
24:58if you want to got two teams getting down and dirty,
25:00it's Michigan State and it's UConn tonight.
25:03UConn currently trading at a 53% chance to win this game on the
25:06calcium marketplace.
25:08Michigan State at 47%.
25:10And then if we're taking a look and we include the point spread,
25:12how about UConn to win this game by two plus points currently trading
25:15at 52 cents.
25:16Here's Dan Hurley talking about the situation setting up for tonight.
25:20What do you think it says about the culture that people see,
25:22you know, yelling or hard coaching and somehow think that's a problem?
25:26Yeah.
25:26I just think that's, you know, society, you know,
25:28we've got soft in a lot of ways.
25:31I think with, you know, we're trying to develop young people.
25:35I think young people,
25:36the teachers and coaches that impact their lives the most are not the
25:39teachers and coaches that like gave them a grade they didn't deserve.
25:43I mean,
25:43you remember the teachers and coaches that pushed you to,
25:47to your maximum, you know,
25:48that pushed you beyond your comfort level that got the most out of you,
25:51that English teacher that, you know,
25:54made you do the work and the tests were hard and you had to study hard.
25:58And I just think the same thing applies to, to coaching.
26:01You know, we feel like I got a responsibility.
26:05You know, I coach 18, 19, 20 year old men.
26:09There's a lot that I got to instill in them.
26:11There's a lot of discipline.
26:12There's a lot of accountability.
26:14There's a lot of commitment that I've got to instill in them to prepare them
26:18for the real world.
26:19The real world is tough.
26:20It's cruel.
26:22You got to be, you got to be equipped.
26:25So on the flip side of how I'm driving them and pushing them to be the best
26:28that they can be and prepare them for life.
26:30I'm also, I got a very close bond with my players.
26:33I love them.
26:33They know I love them.
26:35And a lot of our relationship that the media doesn't see or, or, or times that we spend,
26:40you know, together, laughing, joking, making fun of each other.
26:45You know, you don't see that part of me.
26:47You unfortunately just sometimes see the monster.
26:51Two old school style coaches tonight.
26:53Michigan State, UConn, Joe, what are we feeling?
26:56Yeah, I, and I mentioned this earlier, Donnie, I like 15 and one.
27:01If something's working for Hurley, whatever he's got rolling over there, it's working over
27:06the last four NCAA tournaments.
27:09You don't go 15 and one against the number unless you know how to coach and how to scheme
27:14against the game's best.
27:15It's going to be a heck of a chess match here tonight, but ultimately guys like Caravan who
27:21have been there and done this before, yeah, I like the experience and I like UConn to
27:26once again, get it done.
27:28Late night action tonight, Tennessee and Iowa State, Joe, on the Kelsey marketplace here,
27:32Iowa State currently trading at a 62% chance to win this game outright.
27:36Tennessee, the underdog at 38%.
27:38If you want an interest in the underdog, a hundred dollar investment would pay back $264.
27:43If you include the point spread, Iowa State favored by three and a half, currently trading
27:47at 52 cents, Joe, a hundred dollar investment on the favorite would pay back $264.
27:51Payback $193.
27:52Tennessee, Iowa State tonight.
27:56This game, I think, is going to be a sneaky over here.
28:00Now, we don't know if Jefferson is playing or not for Iowa State, but the reality is Iowa
28:05State remains the ninth best three-point shooting team in the country.
28:09They hit almost 39% of their threes here, and you've got a Tennessee team that's playing
28:14A, faster this year than they have in years past, but they're also extremely sloppy.
28:21With the ball, Donnie, they're one of the worst teams in turning it over offensively to the
28:26other team.
28:26You're going to give Iowa State, whether Jefferson's on the court or not, extra possessions and easy
28:32transition buckets.
28:33It's going to happen.
28:35Iowa State is going to score more than enough points to not only win and cover this game,
28:39but I think this game goes flying over the total.
