00:00Here's the thing, though. Most of you really need the rain. Now, we have a dividing line
00:05here, and that's where, to the right, we have severe drought ongoing. We have drought conditions
00:11further to the west, just not as bad as significant rainfall. So, any of you, though, could see some
00:17localized ponding, flash flooding, and then, of course, some of those storms on the strong-to-severe
00:21side. Here's how it all plays out on future radar. So, as we go into the rest of the evening,
00:26into
00:26the overnight, we're going to see the rainfall really explode as far as heavy rainfall. That's
00:31why I'm saying that starts to become a bigger threat as we move forward. However, even into
00:36Friday, Saturday, as things drop south into Florida, which I'll start to show you as things dip
00:43throughout the overnight Friday morning, and then throughout the day Friday, we can still see some
00:48strong-to-severe storms into Florida, so keep that in mind as well. Got to stay weather aware of multiple
00:53ways to receive watches and warnings. Push notifications from the AccuWeather app, one
00:57great way, but you don't want to rely on just one resource, of course. Now, we are going to have
01:02rain move into the Tampa area as well. Saturday, we start to see things become really spotty, but you
01:08know, because it's what we've seen this evening, these storms can still pack a punch. Everybody needs
01:13the rain, though, and then we start to turn our eyes further north where those systems Jeff was
01:17talking about bring some impacts for the northern portion of the southeastern region.
01:22All right, everybody in Florida, here's who gets the rain. Some of you do miss out a little bit. Not
01:27everybody gets as much as the impacts, but we need the rain not just because of drought, but because
01:32of wildfires that have been ongoing, and some of these, the national fire, for example, spreading
01:38very quickly. So the firefighters, they need this rain, but here's the thing. We take a look at the
01:43drought monitor. Latest update today, so you're seeing the latest version of the drought monitor.
01:48Extreme drought throughout much of Florida. One round rain, it's not going to fix that. So our
01:53long-range team has been talking about, as we head throughout spring, an elevated fire danger that
01:58will continue into Florida as well. So while this will help, it's just going to be a brief break, really.
