00:00It's also the same head on the bottom side because if you want to have full tone
00:05you need two heads that are swinging equally. They made me a true ball and I
00:11was smashing so many drum heads with this.
00:39Hi, this is Nick. I'm the drummer for Lord of the Lost and we are today here in Chicago.
00:44And I just want to give you a little glimpse all around my kid, what I'm playing and what it
00:50is
00:51and why I'm so proud of being able and allowed to play this stuff.
00:56So I'm a BDC, British Drum Co artist, for three years meanwhile.
01:02And I'm playing mainly the Legend Series, that's also what we have here.
01:07We have a Legend Series kit in Raven glass, this beautiful rainbow sparkling finish.
01:14And we have a kick drum, 22 by 18 or 16, I'm not sure.
01:19We have a 12 by 8, 14, 14, 16, 16 and 18 or 16 floor toms.
01:29I have the Aviator snare in 14 inch by 5 and a half. The heads are on top as well
01:39as on bottom.
01:40I'm Rimo Emperor Clear. I got this tip to use the same hats from Simon Phillips.
01:49Because I was on a clinic years ago and he just introduced his kit and he only told us the
01:57better hats he was using.
01:59It was Rimo Emperor Clear. And at some point in this clinic someone asked,
02:03Hey, you told us about the better hats, but not about the resonant hats, so what are you doing there?
02:08And he said, Oh, that's totally easy. It's also the same hat on the bottom side.
02:13Because if you want to have full tone, you need two hats that are swinging equally.
02:18And I'm a drummer for more than 30 years now and everybody in this room was just like,
02:24Of course, this dude is so right, but nobody thinks about that.
02:28So, yeah, on the snare drum I have the Rimo Power Stroke P77,
02:34which is the most stable and best sounding hat I've ever got.
02:39And so I'm using this on all my snare drums.
02:42So in cymbals, I'm using Zoltan Cymbals, which is a German brand by Toman,
02:51which is Europe's or even worldwide, I don't know, biggest music retailer.
02:55And I have the Rockbeat Hi-Hat over here in 14-inch.
02:59I have a 17-inch Heritage Crash here, an 18-inch Heritage Crash, a 22 Heritage Crash,
03:07which is super great to lay or put a real nice carpet under everything I play.
03:14We have a 19-inch Heritage Crash over here.
03:18I have a second Hi-Hat over here, X-Hat.
03:21It's the RAW Jazz Series in 15-inch.
03:24And we have a 20-inch Rockbeat China here and an 18-inch Rockbeat China.
03:30Holy!
03:33I'm using my Zoltan Nick Stick.
03:37It's a signature stick that they built exclusively for me.
03:41And I'm super happy with this.
03:44I always wanted to have a round tip.
03:48And so they made me, in the first prototype, they made me a true ball.
03:57And I was smashing so many drum heads with this.
04:00And so we changed it to a barrel tip, but barely.
04:05I mean, you can almost not see that it's a barrel tip.
04:11So that's mine.
04:13Hey, so soundtracks are going on upstairs.
04:16So we had to move down here to have a bit of quieter place.
04:20So you can understand what I'm talking to you guys.
04:23So what we didn't see so far are my pedals.
04:26I'm using the Dualist pedals for, meanwhile, I think, 13 years or something like that.
04:33The very special thing on these Dualist pedals is that they are mainly made from plastics.
04:41And you might think, oh, that's not very stable.
04:43But it is.
04:45It's totally crazy.
04:47They have different models.
04:49They have these, I call it the fake pedal, where you can just do one hit,
04:55but you have two strokes.
04:57But I'm not a fan of these.
04:59I'm just an old school double pedal player.
05:02So I have the Dualist D2.
05:04And meanwhile, I have four or five pairs of these.
05:07But that one that I'm using for fly-in shows, and this tour is a fly-in tour for us,
05:13is with me on the road for 13 years now.
05:16And I never had any problems.
05:19I never had to replace anything.
05:21It's totally crazy.
05:24The hardware you see here is DW hardware, which I'm normally absolutely not using.
05:31Because I'm using Gibraltar hardware, because when we're touring Europe with my kit at home,
05:38or my normal general touring kit, I have a massive rack.
05:42And unfortunately, I can't take it and play with me over here.
05:45We are not that big, yet.
05:49For any monitoring, I'm using a German brand, which is called Hearsafe.
05:55I have the, what is it called?
05:58I have the Hearsafe HS7 Pro Flax.
06:03They have, I think, it's five drivers in each ear.
06:06And they give me a full range sound.
06:09I could hear needles hitting the ground when falling.
06:13And that's awesome, really.
06:16And I'm also using these for many, many years already, more than 10 years, and never had any problems.
06:21I think I had to replace the cable for one time, and that's it.
06:25So, they are really stable.
06:27So, maybe you heard about it.
06:29Maybe not.
06:30We just released the first two parts of our recent record, which is Opus Noir.
06:36We have released Volume 1 and Volume 2.
06:38And Volume 3 is coming up in April this year.
06:42Check it out somewhere at the internet at lordofthelost.de.
06:47You find us on social media everywhere just for Lord of the Lost.
06:57And see you next time.
06:59And it should be nice.
