IAF Officer, Father Beaten by Wedding Mob in Bulandshahr After Honking for Way

A serving Indian Air Force (IAF) official and his father were allegedly brutally assaulted by a mob during a wedding procession in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, on February 19, 2026.

The incident occurred on Jahangirabad Road during a traditional ‘ghudchadhi’ ceremony. According to the complaint, Pratham and his father, Jitendra Singh, were travelling by car when they encountered a traffic jam caused by a wedding procession. Several participants were reportedly dancing in the middle of the road and holding liquor bottles.

The situation escalated after Jitendra Singh honked to request passage. An argument broke out, and when the father and son objected to alleged verbal abuse, members of the procession allegedly launched a coordinated attack.

Allegations in the Complaint:
Weapons Used: Sticks (dandas) and iron rods
Injuries: Both victims sustained serious injuries; Jitendra Singh reportedly fell unconscious
Theft Claim: A gold chain and wristwatch allegedly went missing during the assault

The injured were initially taken to a nearby hospital and later referred to the district hospital for further treatment.

A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread condemnation.

Police have registered an FIR against seven named individuals — Ashok Sharma, Akash Sharma, Dharmendra, Sachin, Saurabh, Vishal, and Vivek — along with several unidentified persons.

Station House Officer Sanjesh Kumar stated that both sides have submitted complaints. One accused has been taken into custody and booked for breach of peace, while further legal action will depend on the outcome of the investigation.
