QRope Endless Rope Trainer Machine Review: Workout From ANY Angle
Category

SportsTranscript
00:00Today I'm reviewing the Q-Rope Endless Rope Trainer. This is one of those pieces of equipment
00:03that allows you to get as creative as you want when it comes to your training. You can mount it
00:07up on the top of your pull-up bar, you can mount it in the middle of your rack, at
00:10the bottom of
00:11your rack, you can pull facing it, pull facing away from it. So there's lots of exercises you
00:16can do with this. So in today's video I'm going to show you what I like about it, what I
00:19don't
00:19like about it, who this is for and who this is not for. Now I'm going to start with the
00:23build
00:23quality. Now most of the unit is made out of metal, it's made out of stainless steel, aluminum,
00:27there are some hard plastic parts. This right here is hard plastic which is separating the front
00:32face from the back face. That same plastic is down here also right below and above the rope and then
00:38the pulleys on the inside are also hard plastic. I don't think you need aluminum pulleys for this
00:43because we're not trying to recreate something like what a cable machine does where you need smooth
00:47motion. This is more about creating friction on the inside to generate resistance. Now the hook here
00:52on the top is made out of metal and it does have a lining of plastic also so it's going
00:57to protect
00:57your pull-up bar and then the handle down here it has a plastic knob but the handle itself is
01:03made
01:03out of metal. Now the rope is 100% polyester so this has a high breaking strength and it's also
01:09going to be highly resistant against abrasion so if I rub it against the floor that it's not just going
01:13to automatically fray easily. So as far as quality goes I think they did a really good job here
01:19with quality parts and this also has a three-year warranty. Now when it comes to installation this is one
01:25of the easiest endless rope trainers there is to install because there really is no installation.
01:29It doesn't come with any hardware so I don't have to mount it to my rack. I don't have to
01:32mount it
01:32to my wall. It's as simple as throwing it over my pull-up bar using the hook that's attached to
01:38it
01:38and it's ready to go. So I throw it over, lock it in place and then I can start using
01:44the endless rope.
01:44So it literally takes no time to install. This also comes with a strap so let's say if I want
01:49to move it
01:50to different heights instead of just having it at the top I can move it down to the middle of
01:54the
01:54upright or to the bottom of the upright I can set this up. The strap here is five feet long
01:58so I can
01:59really strap it around anything. It has a loop that comes built in or inside and then it uses a
02:07cam buckle
02:08so I can tighten this as hard as I want as loose as I want and basically around anything that
02:13I want
02:13just because it's five feet long and now that gives me more versatility than just having it in a fixed
02:18position like a lot of endless rope trainers out there are and then having to figure out different
02:23angles just becomes a little bit more difficult. This just makes it more easy. I can move it up and
02:27down wherever I want to quickly without having to figure all that other stuff out and it's portable.
02:32I can take it with me anywhere. Now I like that the inside is lined with plastic because the inside
02:37of the hook here is lined with plastic just because that's going to protect my pull-up bar and the
02:43hook
02:43itself here from scratching or from making loud noises and then I'll also like that it swivels
02:48because I can pull from any direction without any restriction. Now one thing that's good about the
02:53swivel also is that let's say if I'm pulling off to the side the entire unit is going to be
02:59moving to
02:59the side so that's going to protect the rope from the sides of the housing. So for example if this
03:04was
03:04in a fixed position and I was pulling from the side now the rope would be hitting the side of
03:09the
03:09housing here but because it swivels the rope is always going in a straight motion not hitting the
03:15sides of the housing here so that's a good thing. Now I've also towed around with a trolley using it
03:21up and down on my rack and it actually works really good so I talked to the Qrope people about
03:26it and
03:27they did mention that they are working on a trolley system for racks and I think it's just a really
03:31good
03:31idea just because that's so much faster. I can just move a trolley up and down in a rack change
03:37heights in a matter of seconds compared to other endless rope trainers out there where you actually
03:41have to mount it on the rack and then mount it to the wall and then figure out different ways
03:46to
03:46angle the rope. This is definitely much much faster and you get more versatility out of it. Now this
03:53provides resistance in one direction which means if I pull on it nothing is pulling me back. It's just
03:57one-way resistance. Nothing pulling me back. So if your training style or if your focus is on
04:02hypertrophy this machine is not going to be ideal for that. You're better off using a cable machine
04:07for hypertrophy but with that being said that doesn't mean that you can't still get a great
04:11workout from this. You can pull on it and just do it repeatedly increase the resistance and you can
04:16still get a great workout for your muscles. It actually allows you to recover faster because
04:20the eccentric portion of a lift is what causes the most damage. Now I see this being very beneficial
04:26for sports because you can explode. You can do explosive movements with these that don't require any
04:32negative contraction. You just explode in one direction. I also see this being very useful for
04:36occupations that require training like firefighters where they need to be pulling heavy weight.
04:42Also for rehab because there's no eccentric forces here you can still work out injured areas
04:48and not create more muscle damage to those areas. And for me personally I use this as a finisher. Let's
04:54say if I'm doing something like a back day I come here and just rep it out. Just do a
04:59bunch of reps and
05:00you'd really feel a really good burn. So as far as a workout machine resistance training
05:05does provide resistance only in one direction. So if your focus is on hypertrophy this is not the
05:11best machine for it but you can still get a great workout regardless. I'm going to show you a few
05:15levels of resistance so you can see how much I struggle with each one. I'm going to go the
05:19beginning maybe about halfway and then fully at level 10. So level one very easy. I can see this being
05:27useful for more for beginners for kids the elderly population that just need a little bit of movement
05:31without a lot of resistance for rehab as well. I'm going to move it down to level six.
05:38Level six or seven is usually what I use at the end as a finisher for my workouts after a
05:44pool day.
05:45And this one there's definitely a lot more resistance to it.
05:52So I start struggling at about that level. Now I'm going to bring it down to level 10.
05:58And this is going to be the highest resistance this has what should be about 135 pounds. I weigh 170
06:05pounds.
06:05So this is definitely challenging. For this one I definitely have to put my body weight into it.
06:17So yeah I like that going from easy to middle to be to the hardest level. So you you can
06:25hit a lot of
06:25different populations there from beginners all the way to advanced lifters. So there's your resistance
06:31profile so you can see more or less what each resistance level or at least beginning middle
06:36and the hardest look like. So the rope is made of 100% polyester which means it has a high
06:40breaking
06:41strength and also very good abrasion resistance. So if I scrape it against the floor it's not just going
06:45to fray easily. Now this thing here is about an inch and a half in thickness so it's it's got
06:51a very
06:51wide diameter so I can grip it. It's definitely going to work out your grip with any exercise that
06:56you do here and it's 16 feet in length just a little bit over 16 feet. So when I hang
07:01it up on
07:02my pull-up bar it doesn't touch the floor. My pull-up bar is 88 inches high off the floor
07:06so that it gives me
07:08plenty of room to do anything from the from the top down without having to scrape it on the floor.
07:12Of course if I bring it down lower on the on the weight rack it's going to hit the floor
07:16eventually but
07:17it has that high abrasion resistance which is going to make it last. Now there is a weak point
07:23here in the middle where it's spliced. Now this here they it looks like they shrink wrapped it
07:27and that's where both ends of the rope come together and unite. Now Q-Rope has videos on their website
07:33where they show that they're testing it thousands of times with a machine and they're pulling a thousand
07:38pounds of weight or more. So they have tested this of course before putting out in the market and it
07:43looks like it's durable. They do offer a three-year warranty on this on everything not just the rope
07:49so that gives me good peace of mind. Now as far as this here you can see that the diameter
07:55is a
07:56little bit narrower than the whole entire rope so this can be used as a counter anytime this goes
08:01through the pulleys you'll hear make a different sound so I'll show you what that look sounds like.
08:06So when I pull on it you'll hear it makes like a clicking sound. Let me do it again.
08:14There it is. So that is the weakest point but it has been tested thousands of pounds repeated
08:20thousands of times. As far as the rope I think it's a very good quality rope and it feels very
08:24good on my hand. Definitely works the grip and I see it as being very durable. So the price of
08:29the
08:29Q-Rope is $630 which is expensive but if you're not familiar with endless rope trainers they can
08:34actually be higher than this. Torque Fitness for example sells the Relentless Rope XR for $800 and
08:40that's the home version. Their commercial version is $1000 so when you compare that to $630 this is
08:46actually a good price for an endless rope trainer. Now with that being said make sure if you're
08:51somebody that's interested in something like the Q-Rope make sure you go to their official website.
08:55I'm going to leave a link below this video so you can click on it it'll take you there directly.
08:59The reason I'm saying that is because I made an Instagram video that went viral got over 5 million views
09:04and I started seeing that video being used by other people in ads that were directing people
09:10to their scam websites and of course some people bought it they were selling this for 70 bucks when
09:14it's $630. People bought it never received it of course and I started getting messages from those
09:20people I asked them show me your receipts and of course it was from a different company nothing
09:24related to Q-Rope so needless to say they never got the Q-Rope. So make sure it says Q
09:29-Rope by Tal
09:30and Haddas that's how you know you're in the official website again I'll leave a link below
09:34this video and of course you're going to start seeing Chinese copies being made and the big
09:38difference is the quality this is made out of stainless steel aluminum the rope is 100 polyester
09:44so you're paying $630 because you're paying for quality so if you're seeing Chinese versions out
09:50there that are cheaper than that just know that you're not going to be getting the same type of
09:53quality. Now I'll give you my pros and cons I'll start with the cons so one con for me is
09:57that
09:57there's no way for me to know exactly how much weight I'm pulling so there's a numbering system
10:01on the side here that goes from 1 through 10 but that doesn't tell me how many pounds I'm pulling
10:06so what does number 2 equate to as far as pounds what does number 5 equal to as far as
10:11pounds they
10:12say it goes from 10 to 135 pounds but I don't know exactly what I'm pulling so I think an
10:17easy solution
10:17would be for them to include the pounds on this side over here you have the levels 1 through 10
10:22here
10:22what does each level equate to as far as pounds another con for me would be that the price is
10:27630
10:28I would love to see this in a lot of home gyms but I know a lot of people are
10:32not going to be able to
10:33afford it there's others out there that are more expensive than this one so this one is actually one
10:38of the most economical ones out there now as far as the pros go I love that this is portable
10:42it's not
10:43fixed I don't have to install anything there's no hardware included it comes ready to use right out of
10:47the box so I can throw it over my pull-up bar go from high to low do some exercises
10:52in that way I
10:54can move it through the middle of my rack using the strap and then pull in a horizontal direction
10:59or I can move it to the bottom and pull from the bottom to the top so it just gives
11:03me more versatility
11:04than a rope that's just fixed in one position I can also take it outside with me I take it
11:09to my
11:09backyard and usually work out there where I can take it to the park so there's more portability than
11:14just a fixed mounted endless rope trainer I also like that the build quality is really good made
11:20out of stainless steel aluminum the rope is 100 polyester so that's going to last a long time
11:26and I also like that it's applicable to various different types of training so number one I can use
11:31it here in my home gym this can also be used in occupations such as firefighters that require training
11:36under wearing a lot of weight and then pulling pulling constantly pulling this can also be used
11:42in sports for explosive training where you only need resistance in one direction and also I can
11:48see it very useful in a rehab setting because this only provides concentric forces that means there's
11:55going to be less muscle damage so in a rehab setting that's a good thing because you can still
11:59get resistance work out an area that's injured but at the same time not cause more pain to that area
12:04so I see a lot of good pros to this more pros than cons so if you're somebody that can
12:09afford this
12:10this is a good choice for a different type of training so that's my review on the q rope endless
12:14trainer if you want to learn more about it I'll leave a link below this video that link is shreddeddad
