00:05We had about 950 cattle in today for the time of the year and probably thinking it was going to

00:11one of our last. We got another store sale on the 13th of March. We probably thought
00:15this one had a lot of our good second drafts in vendor drafts that you know where we sold
00:20a top line out in say December. You know we had their second drafts coming through today.
00:24We had many many pens there that was sort of probably 18 to 22 in the line. Very even
00:29pens. So it was just a great opportunity if someone wanted to put together a hundred cattle
00:35or so they could do so with the drafts and that. We probably relied a lot on local support.
00:40All these lightweight carts just going back in the hills and Fleurieu and surrounds. Whereas
00:44today very much underpinned by outsider orders. You know pasture orders and people keen to
00:51secure light well-bred Angus cattle to go. So different buying gallery today.
00:59Yeah mainly outsiders than the local demand. So and certainly a big big rise in price.
01:06You know and the feedlot is a bit the same. You know we had you know many pens of those
01:10cattle 360 to 420 kilos and the feedloters were here today again wanting to secure cattle
01:19before they run out as well.
01:21That rising price as Brad said that perfect sort of storm. Definitely the quality of cattle does help when you
01:25when you look over the next sort of ten pens of cattle and they're all
01:28pretty similar within that sort of 50 kilo weight range or something that really gives an opportunity for those buyers
01:33to start together a good good line of cattle that they know exactly what how they're going to do and
01:38how they're going to perform.
01:39Yeah as Brad said those external buyers coming in from the north and pastoral country country areas putting their throwing
01:48their weight around amongst the local vendors too is definitely adds up and gives that bolster that bolsters the price
01:55a hell of a lot. But yeah just definitely the competition that was within the buying gallery. Yeah helped throughout
02:01the day immensely.
