00:00We're here at the Strathalbin cattle market today with Bradley Walker and
00:05Mitch McEnany from Strathalbin and Nutrien Kingston. What can you tell us
00:11about the market today? Today we've probably yarded approximately about 800
00:14cattle here today so quite a good number for this time of the year and considering
00:20we haven't had a sale since probably early June so I've had a little bit of a layoff
00:24and worked up here. It was probably the first time we actually had quite a few
00:27heavy feeder cattle here today we probably had in the first 16, 17, 18 cans
00:33you're still probably 350 kilos plus so quite good pens of full heavy sort of
00:39black steers so quite a good run there on those right down to right down to some
00:43lighter cattle in around that 185 to sort of 220 so a bit for everyone but certainly
00:49a better run of those heavier feeder cattle. We've seen probably still had three or
00:55four feedlotters operating today but just to just sort of reduce levels as what's
00:59happening across the the market trend at the moment so certainly yeah it's still
01:03enough active bidding and buying that they're just buying to a bit more of a
01:07level worse around the tram so you've probably seen a lot of those feeder steers
01:10you might have been 520 to 540 sort of true there. They were for sort of
01:15those 420 kilo plus cattle up the I think our heaviest pen was up about 470 kilos and
01:21once you got back into those 360, 380 kilos cattle you've seen a fair lift there
01:26because you had a lot of the grade you stepped in there because we're getting in
01:30the August time and you've only got a few months sort of feed and the unknown
01:34about the season so those sort of cattle you could have been anywhere from sort of
01:38five fifty to six dollars for those and then yeah once you got down into the
01:43300 so quite a quite a fair bit of interest right across the board there and
01:47I think one of those pins yeah we had some 210 kilo little line of black steers
01:51make 1500 which is about seven dollars fifty right down the bottom so yeah so
01:56a fair bit of urgency down there as well so once again the better the line the
02:00well-bred the more line you put together a more competition there but overall very
02:06very strong and then buyers from look from yeah right from the southeast upper
02:11southeast you know Malley Hill Florio mid-north so quite a good good run of
02:17buyers and that as well so overall quite pleasing and then the heifers Mitch how
02:23did they look yeah they presented quite well I would say your heavier heifers
02:28were probably it was a tad cheaper than the last store sale they had here your
02:34middle run of heifers I would say they're probably pretty firm and so they were
02:38than four and your lighter heifers but yeah a bit cheaper there too but overall
02:43still yeah quite a good sale yeah
