00:08you want to use for the players known as not having a collective bargaining agreement and
00:13then man that story hit a wildfire yesterday because the guy representing the players for
00:20the last about 13 years Tony Clark the head of the MOBPA got himself a little hot water yesterday
00:28not once but twice so follow the bouncing ball Tony Clark who's a hardline negotiator for the
00:34players who wants the players to want to sit out so that they never agree to a cap that's the
00:40big
00:40thing at stake after this baseball season is under investigation by the Eastern District of New York
00:46for allegedly misappropriating union funds they were negotiating with a private company for what
00:53amounts to an NIL deal for Major League Baseball players and there are some rumors and innuendo and
00:59allegations now that Tony Clark and some other members of the union's leadership were absconding
01:06with funds for themselves that belong to the players so that in and of itself is a problem
01:13and would warrant the head of a union to step down you can't represent me if you're stealing from me
01:20are we on the same page so far absolutely and and the thought was they have to have money set
01:24aside
01:25in case of the work stop is to pay for players that aren't rich yet yes now let me give
01:29you just a
01:30quick aside on that because it's a good point to make the owners have taken a bunch of money out
01:34of
01:35their current national tv deal and have set aside a doomsday bank account of 75 million dollars per team
01:43so that they don't have to fire like secretaries and scouts and a lot of other people and at least
01:48maintain
01:49a shell operation if uh there's a lockout a strike whatever you want to call it okay so the players
01:55in theory want to do the same thing because like Tyrone said the far majority of players while they are
02:01making over a million dollars a year are not financially solvent do not have 50 million bucks
02:06in the bank we are not talking about your top five percent of the players no the Juan Soto's you
02:12know
02:12the Freddie Freeman's of the world Bryce Harper Swarber they're fine those guys have more money than they'll ever
02:17spend in the lifetime but it's the majority of guys that don't it's the triple a players that are
02:23about to become pro that have not yet made any kind of legitimate money they're the guys that are
02:28affected by a work stoppage okay yes some of those guys are flat out poor some of the minor leaguers

02:33flat out poor so Tony Clark steps down yesterday and the first story is that these being investigated
02:41and they're they're expecting an indictment that he and some others might have been uh misappropriating
02:46funds that belong to the players you go to jail for that yes that's fraud and you go to jail

02:53that okay but then at about four o'clock yesterday afternoon the story took a twist that I hate to

03:01I get joy out of but it's a fun topic for me and that is that Tony Clark also stepped
03:07down and resigned
03:09to his post as the head of the Major League Baseball Players Association because he was having an illicit
03:14affair with not just anybody but his own sister-in-law and hired her to be a member of the
03:26players
03:26association yeah so he gave his mistress a job stories all this time obviously but the fact that
03:34the mistress was his sister-in-law is now a really big problem and Tony Clark is now dead when
03:41it comes
03:41to representing the union but I started thinking about it yesterday have you heard me on radio
03:46and I'll reiterate today with Tyrone because maybe it takes me on a different path there's two types of
03:52sisters-in-law yeah right yeah there's your brother's wife uh-huh okay then there's your wife's sister
04:01yeah now I think there's a major difference between having an affair with your wife's sister as opposed to
04:11your brother's wife I think the brother's wife is a lot worse because to your wife cheating on her is
04:19cheating on her it's bad you're done you're getting divorced you're on the couch all that stuff but if you
04:26cheat on with your brother's wife not only do you get divorced but now you also lose your brother
04:33so in my uh kind of ranking of which is better and which is worse he still gets divorced but
04:41his
04:41brother's like you can always stay in my place I got a couch in the basement for you we're good
04:46either
04:47way if I'm a player and I have the biggest negotiation we are ever going to have arguably the history

04:54baseball coming up in a few months and my leadership is banging their sister-in-law and
05:01stealing money from me I'm screwed I might as well just admit to a cap and agree to a cap

05:07and call it a day and not risk losing baseball for a very very long time now I think you're
05:14looking at
05:14that selfishly let me explain go ahead okay now in the scenario you laid out you just cheat you're out
05:21clearly you're going to be done so everybody agrees with that one now you said the brother's
05:28wife's worse it's worse for you in that scenario 100 right but if you're looking at it from the
05:35relationship side I'm not you go ahead but if you did yeah you just you double destroyed her life
05:40what I mean is your wife is building a life with you yes okay children involved as well all that
05:45stuff
05:46yeah you cheat where's her support system right her sister might be the first person she calls
05:52well now she can't yeah she can't call the sister because the you in this scenario are banging the
06:00sister yeah and then it gets worse go because now she wants to go to her mom because every woman
06:07in a
06:07situation like that would go to her mom yeah likely in tears right now you go to the mom I
06:12can't believe
06:13it and now the mom has to take sides yeah it's an easy side the mom's going to take the
06:18side of the
06:18jilted wife uh-huh not the whore uh younger daughter right but then okay maybe but what if she's not

06:26good a mom yeah I don't know number two the money might have been coming in from Tony yeah so
06:31she might
06:32side with the one who's paying for the Bermuda trip right you ruin her life more okay so in that
06:37way
06:38it's worse well it's certainly worse for the wife yes I'll give you that because she now loses the
06:43support system you wrote her life someone did call me on the radio yesterday and had a good point
06:47there's only one defense that saves Tony Clark for the non-baseball stuff okay and that is if his wife
06:55has a twin that's the only sense yeah I thought it was you I didn't realize at the office you

07:04you hired her you hired her in this scenario you thought it was her
07:07so I wanted her to do now yeah oh okay
