00:00Seems to be a contagious time in sports right now where people are delusional.
00:04We go from Lane Kiffin, now we go to James Harden.
00:07So James Harden, this past week, was asked questions about his Cleveland Cavalier team
00:13and their performance against the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals.
00:18James Harden had the absurd comment that he believed that the Cavaliers were a better team
00:25than the New York Knicks.
00:27You even had people in that organization saying, analytically, we were better than the New York Knicks,
00:32and you got blown out four games to love.
00:35Where in God's name would you ever think that a basketball team that in times that you watched them
00:41in that conference finals, you made the comments that, did they quit?
00:46I mean, those guys were already in Cancun.
00:50There were times in that series where they completely just put the white flag up and surrendered.
00:55And James Harden is coming out saying that they were a better team than the New York Knicks.
01:02Let's go down this lane here with James Harden.
01:06You know Superman, the character.
01:08You know how Superman plays like Clark Kent, and all of a sudden he turns into the superhero Superman, right?
01:16Well, during the regular season, James Harden is Superman.
01:20And when he gets into the postseason, he's Clark Kent.
01:24Have you ever seen a guy more different from the moon and the sun when it comes to his career
01:30than when he gets into the playoffs?
01:33James Harden shrinks.
01:35He's one of those players that when he's counted on to carry a basketball team,
01:40he will go down as one of the biggest playoff stiffs in all of NBA history.
01:45You know, this is a guy that totes around saying, we're one of the better teams in the NBA.
01:51And then when he gets into the NBA Finals or the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, this guy craps the bed.
01:58Dude, you guys quit.
02:00You guys lay down.
02:02It's actually been a storyline your entire career.
02:07Mr. No Show.
02:08You know how sometimes you have all these great nicknames for superstar players, the great one like Wayne Gretzky.
02:16You have a Mr. No Show.
02:18That's what James Harden is.
02:21Everywhere he's gone, he's been a no show when it matters the most.
02:26You know, when you're talking about making your legacy, you make your legacies in the postseason.
02:31You make your money during the regular season.
02:34And James Harden's got that down to a T.
02:37Between him and Daryl Morey, I don't know who are two bigger stiffs on people who have done nothing in
02:43their careers when it comes to delivering the Larry O'Brien trophy.
02:48He's done nothing to ever facilitate that and help his basketball team become a champion.
02:54And now he's telling you he's better than the Knicks.
02:57And his basketball team, with the analytics, were better than the Knicks.
03:04That's why Jalen Brunson is a superstar right now.
03:08Here's a guy that nobody wanted.
03:11Here was a guy that was a second-round draft choice.
03:13Hell, even Mark Cuban didn't want him.
03:16He took a pay cut to come to New York and carry his basketball team all the way to the
03:22NBA Finals.
03:24That's a guy that doesn't play with a chip on his shoulder.
03:27That's a guy that plays with a lumber yard on his shoulder.
03:32Jalen Brunson has a lumber yard on his shoulder for all the things that people said he couldn't do.
03:39You can't be this.
03:40You're not a first-rounder.
03:42Funny, all I remember is the guy was the player of the year in college basketball.
03:46He won two national championships with Jay Wright at Villanova.
03:49And now he's on the cusp of potentially being the greatest Knickerbocker of all time.
03:55If that guy delivers an NBA championship, like we said last week, you're going to see this guy going down
04:00to Canyon of Heroes.
04:01He'll go down as one of the greatest New York sports celebrities in the history of that city,
04:07who has been starving for a championship, I think, since the New York Giants won a Super Bowl.
04:14Jalen Brunson is the absolute opposite of James Harden.
04:20James Harden doesn't show up in the moment.
04:23Jalen Brunson shows up in every moment.
04:26And that's why the Knicks are in a position to win an NBA championship.
04:30What a storyline.
04:32You got a guy who's telling you that I'm better than who I'm not.
04:36And you got another guy telling you, hey, I'm the best 1-0 player of all time.
04:42I take that from Tom Brady.
04:44You never heard Brady talking about his accolades, or you never heard Brady talking about what he did in the
04:49past.
04:50You always talked about where Tom Brady's feet were today and what Tom Brady was going to do tomorrow.
04:55You hear guys like Bron talking about their legacies and all that.
04:59Brunson's talking about the future always with his team.
05:02And think about the Knick team that's going to play for the NBA championship compared to what the Cavalier team
05:07was.
05:08There's no Hall of Famers on that team.
05:10You go back into the Knicks history, when Walt Frazier played with Bill Bradley, played with the Buescher, Earl Monroe.
05:19All those guys were Hall of Fame players.
05:21You had a Hall of Fame coach and Red Holtzman.
05:25You got Mike Brown and Jalen Brunson going for a championship that potentially could bring New York their first title
05:33since 1973, which is insane.
05:36With a guy who nobody wanted.
05:40Incredible.
