00:00Major League Baseball Players Union, one of the strongest unions in professional sports,
00:04if not the strongest union here. It's 90 right side, Joe Ranieri. And we're hearing now
00:08that CBA is going to be tough to come by December 1st. And by the way, in the predictive markets
00:12here, you can wager on that. You can invest in it and say, I don't think there's going to be
00:16a CBA.
00:16There won't be a CBA by December 1st. That's almost a 100% guarantee. But in leading up to
00:22this, you want to put pressure on the other sides. And a lot of times we look at this politically,
00:26like, hey, my opponent's got $3 billion saves up for that ad campaign. We only have $200 million.
00:32Oh no, what are we going to do? But now Major League Baseball is saying they've increased
00:36their war chest to $415 million ahead of the collective bargaining. Understand this though,
00:41like the Major League Baseball war chest here, isn't just the players' money that they make
00:45where they can't just say, hey, you know what? Put some money aside for yourself here in case we have
00:50an actual lockout. Do they take money, Joe, out of the players' paycheck automatically
00:55to save up for this? It's probably written in, yeah, to the agreements there, Donnie,
01:01across the board. So it's probably something that, you know, was part of the last agreement,
01:06which allows them to do this. It's probably just protocol here. But yeah, not a bad rainy day fund,
01:13though, when it's all said and done. But hopefully, Donnie, it never gets to that point. Now, hopefully,
01:19cooler heads prevail and all will be worked out. But something tells me, yeah,
01:25that's not going to happen.
