00:05Clemson cornerback Avion Terrell you guys know the last name he's the younger brother of Falcon
00:10star corner AJ Terrell. Well he's projected as a top 25 pick in this year's draft and I don't
00:17think the Giants are going to take him with the fifth overall pick but he is definitely in play
00:23at 37th overall and he has the tape that'll justify Joe Shane and these guys trading back
00:28into the first round if they want to go and grab him he's coming off a rock star of a
00:342025 season
00:3548 tackles nine pass breakups and five force fumbles five force fumbles people at corner
00:42this kid is a ball hawk and I believe he can step in as a scheme fit for new defense
00:48coordinator
00:48Denard Wilson and be a day one starter so here's a couple of plays that we pulled that's going to
00:54show you guys why Terrell would be a strong fit for Wilson's defense and he'd make a much needed
01:00impact on the secondary on day one in today's blue rush draft profile
01:07whether the Giants trade back into the first round to grab this kid or he falls in their lap at
01:1337
01:14if you're a defense coordinator Denard Wilson you want this kid wearing blue however they can get him
01:20this would be a great addition to the Giants secondary uh next year instant instant production
01:27uh if you draft this kid right here you got to show in the NFL that you can blitz you
01:31want to be a
01:32a complete corner in the NFL got to show that you're able to blitz from not only death but from
01:38that
01:38from the line of scrimmage as well right here you can tell they scheme this up we'll watch the play
01:45coming off the edge gets the strip sack gets the tackle
01:51but let's let's talk let's talk about how they dial this up how they dial this up to get him
01:56the
01:57one-on-one get their playmaker one-on-one against a guy that's that shouldn't be as athletic and your
02:04playmaker wins so right here he kind of delays on the blitz they're going some sort of max protection
02:11run action over here and they're trying to push the football down the field they schemed it up so
02:16he's one-on-one with this backside tight end tight end should never be able to draft a violent corner
02:22or violent safety just a violent db in general should win that one-on-one at all times sticks his
02:30foot into the ground didn't even do anything just didn't even like do anything overly spectacular just
02:36beat him with athleticism sim stick his foot into the ground use his hands to create separation boom big
02:44play let's watch it here from the different angle you see him kind of delay on the blitz stick him
02:53try
02:53and go hard inside but then he got the tight end to over set and then he just used his
03:00athleticism and
03:01hands to just club white all right this one goes to show that he's ready he's ready to play press
03:10man
03:10if he needs to does a great job getting his eyes back and playing the football here this just shows
03:15that how active his hands are post catch watch that now let's go back and break this down
03:25because i like the way he uses his leverage here it's a very smart kid avion terrell very smart
03:33football player you see him playing hard to the outside looks like it's some sort of cover one
03:37here he's man man to man man to man man to man you got a safety in the middle of
03:42the field over the top
03:43your help is to the inside one of these backers one of these backers has this running back man to
03:49man
03:49the other one i believe is going to be is going to be playing some sort of hole technique playing
03:54towards the inside so there's his help towards the inside you see him being heavy on the outside
04:00shoulder of this receiver because he knows his safety is help and if this receiver runs it in a
04:07intermediate or shorter route to the inside he's got help with backers to the inside plays over the top
04:13for some reason goes gets back inside of the receiver
04:19but plays through the hands a lot of a lot of dbs they panic when the ball gets there
04:25and they either don't play the hands they just grab on to the body and that's how they get the
04:31defensive pass interference but they don't look back as well watch the way this is teach tape how he plays
04:37this so you can see here he's you could say the receiver has as a step on him or he's
04:45in phase it
04:46just depends on how you're looking at it as a receiver obviously i think i'm winning here but look at
04:52the way he not only not only closes the gap closes the space here but plays gets ready and when
05:01he sees
05:01this receiver getting ready to gather his steps to go up for the football immediately turns his
05:08head back to look for the football there's a reason why this kid as you can see 11 passes defended
05:13and
05:14didn't have that many uh defensive uh penalties called on him he's already playing like he's ready for
05:20the nfl gets his eyes back to play the football to find the football now he sees that the football
05:28has
05:28crossed his eyes and this receiver is making a play on it with his hands but he doesn't panic
05:35doesn't grab on to the receiver here what he does is he tries to play through the hands he tries
05:41to
05:41finish the play by playing through this receiver's hands violence on contact you see it here you see
05:48this left hand swat down at the football and then you see his left hand swat down again and get
05:54contact
05:55with his shoulder and it helped punch the football out now in this place just goes to show how smart
06:01this kid is how you can tell he watches a lot of tape you can tell that he studies concepts
06:08in terms of
06:09route concepts and reads and he does a great job of reading drop steps by quarterbacks because he's i mean
06:18just let's let's watch for i could i could talk about this kid all day let's let's just watch how
06:21he just
06:22sat there and robbed number two and cover two this is big time football right here now oh just imagine
06:29had he gotten his day his daggone hands on this one this could have been pick six he makes plays
06:34from this cover two from squatting and sitting in this cover two uh hole uh cover two flat right here
06:41that like he does so saw the play cheer playing cover two you can see down in distance
06:50you a lot of the times in cover two they play heavy to the outside to funnel this receiver inside
06:56he's
06:57playing to the to the inside probably because you're on the back hash here that's a long throw here for
07:05that quarterback to make so he feels as though that he can recover if that quarterback tries to throw it
07:10into that honey hole so that already that's pretty smart number two now he's reading he knows one's going
07:16vertical he's just going to pass that off to that safety that cover two safety that's over the top
07:22he's got his eyes reading number two i know he's wearing number seven but he's number two in terms of
07:29the slot receiver ready to sit this down and he's reading the quarterback's eyes as well he already
07:36starts to drive on to the football before the quarterback even throws the football he understands
07:42what could be happening here it could be some out breaking route to where they would just be doing
07:48his job for him throwing uh out out route into cover two but this receiver does a good job by
07:55sitting down
07:56finding space but this but but terrell does an even better job of reading through reading the route
08:04reading the concept and jumping it this kid's ready for the nfl you see it this kid's an absolute ball
08:14hawk and don't try and argue with me that he's not a first round corner because he didn't have an
08:19interception last season five forced fumbles he's mastered the peanut punch and if one of those get
08:25jumped on that's a turnover this kid is never out of the play and then denaro wilson's defense his
08:32philosophy is built off of you press everything period this kid can play that aggressive man-to-man
08:38coverage that wilson likes and he's great at challenging receivers at the line of scrimmage
08:44and squeezing them towards the sideline or his help we call that route disruption but he also has
08:51tremendous zone instincts as well denaro wilson's scheme is all about simulated pressure and cover four
08:57or quarters shelled on the back end that looked like some sort of man-to-man but it transitions
09:03into zone at the snap of the football no easy reads for receivers and quarterbacks you saw in some of
09:10the plays that we highlighted that terrell has that unique ability to read a quarterback's eyes read the
09:17routes and then break on the football that's a perfect fit for a defensive coordinator that likes to
09:23show and then drop now again i don't think the giants look at him as the best corner in this
09:29draft
09:30class or even one of the top five players in this class so they're more than likely going to pass
09:35at
09:35him at number five overall but if he's there at 37 or you need to trade up to get him
09:42in the late first
09:43round he has the tape and the skill set to add first round value to a giant secondary that needs
09:51to improve in
09:52in the late 2026
