00:05this giant six-round pick was drafted to do one job and one job only and if he can do
00:12it sexy
00:12enough he could anchor a giant run defense that gave up a league-worst 5.31 yards per carry last
00:19season that pick is bobby jameson travis the 6-3 328 pound defensive tackle out of auburn and i
00:27feel like this pick has new defensive coordinator denard wilson's fingerprints all over it now i
00:33talked to this kid moments after he was drafted to the franchise and he basically told me he knows
00:40why the giants drafted him and that was to come in and create complete chaos in the middle of the
00:47trenches so he is that classic 3-4 nose tackle that in denard wilson's scheme will be on the field
00:54for
00:55rundowns and his main job is going to be to take on the double team so linebackers like tremaine
01:01edmunds and arvel reese can roam free play fast and go make plays now if he splits the double team
01:08and
01:08makes the tackle that's a bonus but free up reese and edmunds is the main objective so here goes a
01:14couple plays that's going to show you guys why the giants drafted his skill set controlling the line
01:20scrimmage and stopping the run so put your pads on folks it's time to get nasty we're going into
01:26the trenches and this blue rush draft spotlight bobby jameson travis you see him here line up at
01:35defensive tackle had himself a pretty solid year in 2025 i mentioned the 36 tackles i believe he had
01:42two tackles for loss big dude man 6-3 around 320 ish 330 ish in between that range has long
01:49arms
01:50but i want you he's got power the dude's very strong tested well at the combine in terms of strength
01:57but he shows these flashes of athleticism as well same way as dexter lawrence i'm not trying to compare
02:04this dude to dexter lawrence that's unfair um he's going into his rookie year obviously dexter lawrence
02:10a three-time pro bowler but he shows flashes of what he could be in this denard wilson defense and
02:17as we go through the tape you're going to see what he could bring uh to that defense boom you
02:22see him
02:22there beat that beat that that center with ease same thing uh dexter lawrence used to do now you
02:31got to see how one thing i like about his game is how quick and athletic he is off the
02:37football that
02:37first step that first step into the neutral zone or into his gap that applies pressure on a guard or
02:45on a
02:45on a center or on a guard and i like the way he's able to counter that first step of
02:51of that fast first
02:52step with athleticism as well and he does that here you see it boom just beats him beats him with
02:58speed
02:59beats him with with hand uh center never had a chance there's one of those tackles for losses i
03:06was talking about you can see it here so he catches this guy a lot of one knock on him
03:11um and you can
03:12read that when he comes to his combine notes coming from i guess draft scouts or experts or whatever they
03:18say plays a little too high at times but again we couldn't see it because of the beginning of this
03:24video and sorry we had to rip this video off of youtube y'all uh couldn't get the all 22
03:29on him
03:30but you see how this left foot kind of set up this this center hard left foot with quickness and
03:38then
03:38he uses his athleticism to boom leave leave him right there in the dirt need that now this isn't like
03:46again he's his job is to take on and occupy this double team but and let this is arvel reese
03:53and this
03:53is tremaine edmonds let those two guys run as free as possible but anytime you can beat a guy
04:00like that with athleticism and meet that back and meet that running back in the hole in the backfield
04:07that's always a plus you'll take the tfl any day as long as he still uh he still did what
04:15he was
04:16supposed to do when it comes to his assignment and being where he's supposed to be so big play right
04:21there you'd love to see it in this giants defense but that play just goes to show that he's not
04:28just
04:28all strength the guy is able to move with some some some pretty uh elite athleticism at his size
04:37i mean this is more of a bad block by this guard but again you see the way he's he's
04:43ready to set
04:43him up with the athleticism and the explosion coming off of the football and that right foot
04:49goes into the ground he's ready to two gap this he's ready to he's ready for this collision he's
04:55ready to plug this hole of this this gap here get engaged and with his arm length and his strength
05:02he's usually able to disengage or hold up this blocker or disengage and play and two gap this
05:13but bad block i don't even know why i put this one on here again another tackle for loss and
05:21he's
05:21just showing that athleticism that he could bring here's what i mean by controlling a block controlling
05:28the line of scrimmage right here we get a chance to see this in the tight this now don't worry
05:33about
05:33seeing him i don't think we're going to see him too much on passing downs this dude is he is
05:38a first
05:39and second down um tight he has a first and second down type skill set come in stop the run
05:45but
05:45hey if he transitions into a four down uh four down d tackle that's always a plus i never want
05:51to limit
05:51anyone's game but this is something that expect to see from him but expect to see it with the double
05:56team him taking on two guys there's not much penetration um when it comes to driving this center
06:04into the lap of this quarterback but he's still able to control the line of scrimmage control the
06:11guy that's blocking him and not get washed so if you're a quarterback and you see this and you want
06:17to take off look how he's able to kind of get off that block and play into that that gap
06:22that voided gap
06:24and fall in and make a play or make a tackle that could have been that could have been a
06:30touchdown
06:30right there had he gets goes through there clean i don't know my man might have cleaned him up right
06:34there on the spot but it would have been a bigger gain than what it is i mean he has
06:39a lot he has
06:40bigger plays than this this is just what we could find uh online when we ripped it but so don't
06:46look
06:46at this as like oh i'm breaking down some sort of highlight tape just look at it like i'm breaking
06:51down skill set and how denard wilson could use his skill set on that giant's defensive line
07:00yeah control he's engaged comes off gets i don't know if he draws the hold or not but you see
07:08how
07:08he's not this guy this this center is not able to drive him back and and keep him engaged enough
07:16to
07:16where he can't make this tackle and make a play on the quarterback last but not least i believe this
07:23is against bama yep ty simpson now this is the power you want to see we should have
07:28probably let off with this play right here this is what you want to see from him driving a guy
07:33back
07:34into the lap of this running back now he's able to beat him the what like you see the rest
07:40of the
07:40line of scrimmage right here we like to call this elephants on parade all the linemen there's proctor
07:45right caden proctor all the linemen kind of moving as as one they're moving driving the the defensive line
07:54back you like to you love to see it them doing that as one but no here's the leak here
07:59the leak comes
08:02from him driving this guy back into the backfield and then he's able to close here fill that gap come
08:10off and make a tackle again you you love to see it this is what you want to see now
08:14ideally again
08:16we don't have the footage but i wanted to show how he will draw you want him to draw this
08:23double team
08:24so these linebackers can run free but hey if you get that one-on-one if you get a one
08:29-on-one you have
08:30to you got to have that mindset to where if they block me one-on-one that's disrespectful they didn't
08:36block dexter lawrence one-on-one that man had the highest uh double team rate what the last two three
08:43years so for bobby jameson for bobby jameson travis if they're trying to block you one-on-one in the
08:51in the nfl that means they don't they they're not respecting him you want to see him make these plays
08:57drive a guy back fall off and make a play in the backfield you you that's what you want to
09:02see him
09:02do and i feel like that's something that he could come in and and help as he gets adjusted to
09:08nfl game
09:08speed and strength look i'm gonna go ahead and say it and it's no disrespect there's absolutely
09:14no replacing three-time pro bowler dexter lawrence they're going to try and do that by committee i
09:20mean they did sign free agent defensive tackle shelby harris and they add it to that defensive
09:25line room but bobby is going to get his shot to come in and be the guy the anchor on
09:30that defensive
09:30line he started all 12 games at nose tackle for auburn in 2025 and he had production he led all
09:37interior linemen with a career high 36 tackles and when you talk to people around the league
09:43they think that joe shane essentially got a potential starter at a position of dire need
09:49for the price of a late day three pick now this isn't a glamour pick this isn't a highlight reel
09:55type
09:55guy but championship defenses especially when we're talking about the giants are built on guys exactly
10:02like bobby jameson travis tough physical and technically sound at the point of contact the
10:09giants are trying to change their defensive identity from the inside out and it all starts right here
10:15in the middle of that defensive line or the trenches
10:20you
