00:00A steady pace of vote counting today at the L.A. County Registrar's Office.
00:04About 2.1 million ballots have been counted so far.
00:09There are 5.9 million registered voters in L.A. County.
00:13Now, the California Post was here the week after the primary elections
00:17to see just how many people were counting.
00:20A lion's share of these chairs were empty.
00:23Today, we're here the day after the general elections
00:26to see how many chairs were empty and filled.
00:29As you can see, a large majority more have been filled,
00:32but there are still a number of empty chairs here today.
00:36We also talked to Nico Ruderman, who was here with us during the primaries,
00:40to ask him what his thoughts are.
00:41In June, when we were here, the seats were empty.
00:44There was maybe 10% of the seats filled.
00:46It was shocking how slow the count was going.
00:48Surprised to see there's a lot more people today.
00:51Not all the seats are filled, but it seems to be moving a lot faster.
00:54The count seems to be coming in faster.
00:55So it's nice to see they made some changes from June.
00:59November.
01:00And you just did a tour with folks inside
01:02and talked to them about this ballot count versus last one.
01:06Do you feel like they listen to us and there is a sense of urgency?
01:10When I brought it up, they didn't really want to discuss, you know,
01:14what they were surprised I was asking why it was so empty.
01:16They seemed to not remember that it was so empty.
01:20But I was asking them.
01:21But it was a great tour.
01:22So they avoided the push?
01:23Yes, they avoided the push.
01:24Very much so.
