00:05The more I watched Washington Huskies wide receiver Denzel
00:09Boston's game tape, the more I saw first round talent in
00:13production. The Giants could trade back from five or even
00:16trade back into the first round and do Jackson Dart in the past
00:20game a solid by drafting this dude. 6'4", 210, shout out to the
00:25big receivers out there, 62 catches with 11 touchdowns and a
00:29grown man catch radius. I think that he's the ideal target in
00:33this draft to pair up with Malik Nabors and a Wondell Robinson
00:37if you re-sign him. You have two guys on a rookie deal and then
00:40you got your slot guy coming off of his best season as an NFL
00:44receiver. That's one bright future for a young playmaking
00:48core. One thing I really like about him is that he's played in
00:52an NFL style system up in Washington so it shouldn't take
00:55him long for him to pick up Matt Nagy's system and to play
00:58fast. You're going to need that while Malik Nabors gets back
01:02up to speed. So let's put the tape on, let's break down how
01:05he's that prototypical X receiver Jackson Dart needs out on
01:09the perimeter to try and make this offense a top 10 passing
01:13offense in the league in this Blue Rush draft profile.
01:19All right, this first play against Rutgers down 11. Washington needs a big play. Denzel
01:25Boston here makes one with a with a catch and run on a busted coverage. Let's
01:30kind of watch the entire play then we'll go back and we'll break it down.
01:34A big knock on this kid and I'll start with the knock is he doesn't have blazing
01:38speed and he's not elusive. He doesn't get that much yak but you see him be able to
01:43kind of put his foot into the ground, break a tackle and then make Rutgers pay for the
01:48busted coverage. He is going to make a lot of money if he performs well and runs well
01:54at the combine. He could jump into that first that for sure first round category because of his size,
02:02his ability to play the football with the 50-50 ball. He can make himself a lot of money and
02:08solidify
02:09himself as top two to top three, four receiver in this draft class if he runs well. So you see
02:16him
02:16identify its zone. If it's man, we keep it moving. If it's zone, we sit it down. Sits down right
02:22over
02:23top of the center, becomes a big target for his quarterback. Catch and what I like here is he
02:31drops steps and gets vertical. A lot of times you'll see a lot of the speed guys, speed guys can
02:36kind of
02:36make that J like Cheetah, Jalen Waddell, Malik Nabors. They can kind of make that J and use their
02:43speed to get the separation and that burst to get themselves the yak but you see him immediately
02:48get vertical and what that allows him to do now is now with his size 6'4", 210 starting to
02:56gain a
02:56little bit of momentum, he can run through an arm tackle. Again, a big knock on him as he didn't
03:03get
03:03that much yak. He was kind of a catch and fall type guy or a contested catch type guy that,
03:10you know, that defender was there to make a tackle right when he caught the football. But again,
03:15if he could show that he can run well, get some sort of separation and some yak, I think that
03:20he's
03:20going to solidify himself as one of the top three to four receivers in this draft class.
03:28Let's watch it again. You see him go on the contact with the corner, just easy route,
03:34nothing special about this route. I just wanted to highlight does have a little bit of burner there,
03:39little bit of jets there. All right, let's go next play because this is where he is going to make
03:46his
03:47money, especially if he gets drafted to come to the New York football giants. Where did the giants
03:53have trouble with last season? Red zone efficiency, scoring, getting six instead of three in the red
04:02zone. And I know there's this whole anti campaign against big body six, four receivers, but look at
04:09this. So he had already scored the touchdown to bring them, you know, down. Well, I guess,
04:15I guess 11 right now. Now, after an 11 play, 64 yard drive, 11 plays, 64 yards, you know, you're
04:24not,
04:24there's no real explosive plays within this drive. You got to put one in the end zone and on first
04:31and
04:3110 in the fourth quarter, they go to their guy on a sluggo. Just didn't even have to give him
04:37much.
04:37It was, it was off man. Didn't have to give him much. He knows where he has to be. For
04:42some reason,
04:42this corner is in la la land, jumped the slant aspect of it, which means that the slant is a
04:48part of this game. But now watch here, playing above the rim, the contested catch factor is where
04:56this kid can be money. And when you look at Jackson Dart and how, when he threw the football down
05:02the
05:02field, he was, in my opinion, he looked better. It was more successful with little Jordan Humphrey than
05:09what he was with the speed receivers down the football field. And that's because if you can
05:14have a contest, if you're a guy that can track the ball, can grab it at its highest point, especially
05:20when you're six, four, you are not giving this corner or this DB much of a chance to make a
05:28play
05:28on this football. And you see that here. Not only that he high points it, when he catches it,
05:34he rips it away, turns away from the defender, and then little boys him. That right there at
05:42Giant Stadium would have MetLife Stadium would have the crowd absolutely turned up. It'd have
05:49the Giants offense, who maybe this was after some sort of sudden change. Maybe this was after
05:56a big kickoff return. You got to put it in the end zone. You got to get six there. And
06:01that's
06:01exactly what Washington does there by getting the ball to their playmaker.
06:08One more look at it. Again, he may, I mean, in the receiver room, they may say something about the
06:14sluggo wasn't the best route, but he didn't have to give him much. Would like to give a little head
06:21back to the quarterback, show a little bit more with the shoulders. All right, I'll take it there.
06:26It gave him a little, a little ketchup, a little mustard, a little honey Dijon sauce on it.
06:32Gets vertical. And now look, look at the direction of the football. This is what I talk about when it
06:38comes to his elite ball tracking. He is now, he sees the ball in the air, but now he sees
06:45it starting
06:45to die. And that's when he starts to gather himself. I wonder if he was a high jumper in high
06:51school.
06:52I high jumped. And this was the easiest thing for me to do. High jumping translated to the football
06:58field. When you can put your foot into the ground and he goes up for the football, go back and
07:05watch
07:05a lot of shorter receivers or guys who aren't used to playing above the rim. They fade when it comes
07:12to
07:12trying to go up for the football. He put that left foot into the ground. You see the ankle,
07:18what's it? Ankle flexibility. I was about to say ankle flexation. That would have been terrible.
07:24Puts that foot into the ground, goes up for the football. It's coming down. But just think,
07:30if that ball was thrown anywhere here around the goalpost, look how long his arms are. And now
07:35look at when the ball touches. This DB has no shot because he's high pointing the football. And again,
07:42he can go even higher. He can eat with the Eagles. That's what we say. Crows can't go to the
07:48altitude
07:48that the Eagles hunt and hang out at. And then you see strong hands, strong hands, big boy. That's
08:00why he brought down 11 touchdowns as a junior right here. All right, got another one. Again, fringe red
08:08zone or green zone, as we call it, because we're going in. We're trying to score Washington with
08:13the fresher, all black unis. You see him here inside, inside the numbers. So at the bottom of
08:21the numbers, we call this is the split. You know, it's go look at all the space we have out
08:27there.
08:27You know, we're running some sort of goal. It's got the man, man coverage. You can tell you see the
08:32safeties in the box. They're playing some sort of robber coverage. I don't know that this is the
08:37RPO. Watch the play. We'll let it play. But maybe off the RPO, everybody knows where this ball is
08:43going. Quick flash fake goes up for the football again, comes down with it. Yeah. I look, I could
08:51show you more route, more of him running actual routes, curls, digs, kiddies, comebacks, all of
08:58that. But I mean, if he's going to come to the New York football giants, he is going to be
09:04a red zone
09:04threat. He's going to be the guy, the finisher, the red cherry on top. I would like to see him
09:10not get so wide on the press man to man. And that is a knock on him that press release
09:17against press
09:18is something that he struggles with. And it's something that a lot of bigger receivers struggle
09:24with because we're so used to just trying to be dominant and trying to use our physicality at the
09:29line of scrimmage that a lot of the time we don't bring the foot fire. We don't bring the foot
09:34action to get a DB to move or open the gate for us. So that's something that he's going to
09:40have to
09:40work on once he gets to the NFL. But at the end of the day, again, like I said, like
09:46making this move
09:47here, you're giving, that's still too much space for this corner to close off and to close you off
09:56towards the sideline. But again, that's something that's going to be worked on right here. We'd like
10:01to see him get a little bit more vertical. Now use that big body frame, that 6'4", 210. Dive
10:07that
10:07right shoulder into this DB. He's a little guy. And at that, at 6'4", you don't have to win
10:12over the
10:13top. Rarely are we expecting quarterback, especially with his speed or at this point, lack of until we
10:20see him run. Rarely do we see it, this ball thrown to where we're going to lead him. Maybe Calvin
10:26Johnson, we know that ball is coming up and we're going to have to play above the rim. So we
10:33want to
10:33save as much real estate as possible. But watch that. Again, that is what you can't teach. This is
10:42why this kid wins on the, that's why his contested catch rate and his 50-50 ball rate is in
10:48like the
10:48high 60s, low 70s when it comes to coming down and winning with these football. Jackson Dart is going to
10:55love throwing this type of football to this type of receiver.
11:01Good. One more look. I can't see who this team is. They're loading the box, loading the box. Not
11:08even the flash fake off the RPO, but this could be off the RPO. Matt Nagy coming from Kansas City
11:13is
11:13going to run a lot of these. And anytime you see defenders stacked into that box, you're going to go
11:20to your one-on-one with your big body receiver. Imani Toomer did this.
11:30You're going to go one-on-one to your big body receiver. In 2007, Eli Manning had the luxury of
11:38throwing it up to Plaxico Burris and Imani Toomer. And while Eli Manning has made some of the most
11:45precise throws in NFL history and Super Bowl history, he knew he didn't have to be as accurate
11:51with a Plax and Imani Toomer because all he had to do was just put it up there, put it
11:57above the
11:57rim for his big boys to go play above the rim. And that's exactly what Jackson Dart would love to
12:02do
12:02with Denzel Boston. Last but not least, we threw a little bit, a little wrinkle in there when we're
12:09doing these draft profiles. Shout out to our associate producer, Brendan Kramer, who pulls
12:15the videos. Threw this in there because he wanted me to show that this kid's got a little OBJ in
12:21him
12:22and not from being able to catch a slant at seven and taking it for 70, but he's got that
12:29playmaker
12:30factor in terms of throwing the football. You see Odell did this, I believe in, was it 2019 against the
12:38Carolina Panthers? Threw a dime to Saquon Barkley and Saquon ran in for the touchdown, but just
12:44another wrinkle you can throw in with this kid. And when you have a guy like this that's a red
12:49zone
12:50threat, there's going to be a lot of eyes on him. So yeah, he didn't run the fade like, you
12:55know,
12:55which is his bread and butter, but just the fact that, watch the defense when he throws it out there.
13:02Everybody crashed. Everybody crashed. Why? Because they know this guy, the ball is going to Denzel
13:10Boston and then bam, just nice, easy flick, easy throw. Tyrone Tracy Jr. or Cam Scott Abu would love
13:18to catch a pass like that. Or you can do a giant special, elite Jackson dart out in the flats
13:24or
13:24something and throw a touchdown to him. But yeah, Denzel Boston definitely is going to have the
13:29ability to climb the ranks if he runs well at his pro day or even at the combine. But I
13:37think that
13:37this guy would be a great target for Jackson dart and great fit to a Matt Nagy offense.
13:45See a little Odell, a little OBJ in there with the reverse pass. But when I look at this tape,
13:51and I hope you guys saw this as well, I think about the endless opportunities for this kid
13:56in the red zone. I said it earlier, 11 touchdowns in his junior season. I need you to think jump
14:03balls and back shoulder fades. If this kid's on the field, the Giants red zone efficiency should be a
14:09lot better. And also to use as a comparison, I think he's this draft class is Drake London.
14:15Matt Nagy could use him in the RPO game and he can throw the football down the field to
14:21him. He's got elite ball tracking and he can win the 50 50 balls down the field. You don't have
14:27to
14:27be a speed demon to be a vertical threat. But I think his biggest impact for the Giants passing
14:33offense is going to be on third down. He absolutely feasts and eats in that 15 to 25 yard range.
14:41So there's no need for Joe Shane and John Harbaugh to try and grab him with the fifth overall pick.
14:46I think that'll be a little bit of reach because he's going to be there later in the first round.
14:50There's no need to gamble and hope that he falls to 37 because this kid has the skill sets that
14:57make it worth trading back into the first round to grab another weapon. You saw the tape.
