00:27Luigi, thanks for being with us.
00:29A bit of a special Viva Tech for you as well.
00:31This is Italy's fifth time at Viva Tech.
00:34First of all, welcome to the Italian Pavilion at this 2023 edition of Viva Tech.
00:40We are very proud of celebrating this year our fifth participation
00:45and to better celebrate, we have upgraded our presence this year
00:52with more start-ups coming from Italy, with more space here
00:57and with a space specifically dedicated to conference and pitching sessions
01:02for our 53 start-ups exhibiting here in Paris, in Fort de Versailles.
01:10Well, we'll talk about some of those start-ups in a moment,
01:12but just looking more broadly, how does Italy support its tech sector?
01:18Well, Italy, through its government, is supporting the Italian environment
01:24of innovation and start-ups by financing, for example, pavilions like that.
01:30We are doing Italian pavilions in France at Viva Tech,
01:34but we have similar activities in the United States, in the northern Europe and in Asia.
01:40So this is a way to make our start-ups grow internationally.
01:45This is our task and our mission.
01:47Well, let's talk about a couple of the start-ups.
01:50There's a couple that caught my eye. There's one called Gymnasio.
01:53This is a start-up that works with a camera.
01:56It helps adjust position of sports people while they're doing their sports sessions,
02:01help them optimize their performance.
02:02There's also one, for example, Light Science.
02:05This is a start-up that provides portable devices to make remote blood testing easier, faster and cheaper.
02:14In fact, that's in the health tech sector, which is one of the big start-up areas for Italy, isn't
02:18it?
02:18Light Science is among the sectors where our start-ups are more active and innovative.
02:24We have others. We have food tech, of course. We have fintech.
02:26And what I would like also to point out is that we have, this year, a special representation of start
02:35-ups
02:35coming from the Marke region, a small region in the center part of Italy.
02:42But very innovative and very active, thanks to different universities working close with the manufacturers and the industry sectors.
02:51And 10 of the 53 start-ups here come from that region.
02:57Just very briefly before we go, you've got some pitching sessions every single day at Vivitech,
03:02including in just a couple of minutes' time, starting at 3 o'clock today.
03:05Starting today at 3 o'clock and then our pitching session here at Italian Pavilion will continue tomorrow and then
03:12still again on Friday.
03:14Fantastic. So any of our Vivitech news viewers who want to come down, check out the Italian start-ups.
03:19You know where to find the Verona understand C11.
03:23We definitely will, Catherine. Thank you so, so much for this update again on Italian innovation.
