00:00:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back again, if you've just joined us and you're walking past, not quite sure what's happening
00:00:06here, again, this is the Pitch Studio, all about a resource, all about ideas, fresh ideas, big ideas, pitching here
00:00:15on stage to you, our audience members right here at the heart of ViverTech 2022 in Paris, and naturally those
00:00:24of you who are joining us online, welcome wherever you are at work.
00:00:30At home, home office, whatever it is, at the beach, in a bar, wherever you are joining us, a little
00:00:36piece of Paris coming to you by the power of Zoom.
00:00:40Right, here we go, ladies and gentlemen, just let me quickly introduce myself, my name is Peter Hopwood, and what
00:00:48I do, I help people to tell better stories, so as a storytelling and pitch coach, I work with companies,
00:00:54I work with individuals, I work with a lot of startups, really to help them share their stories in the
00:01:00right way and connect with their audience as well.
00:01:04And let me tell you, already yesterday and throughout today as well, we've been listening to many, many stories indeed.
00:01:12First, we started off with our demo day, 32 startups from some of the best global accelerators around the world,
00:01:20reverse pitching from investors, really sharing with our audience here why startups should actually join them.
00:01:27We then went over to Portugal, sorry, we then went over to, yeah we did, we went over to Portugal,
00:01:34listening to some great innovation from Portugal, also Canada.
00:01:38And right now, guess where we're going, Canada back over, over the ocean, and we find ourselves in the beautiful
00:01:46country of Italy.
00:01:48So this right now is all about Italian innovation, we're about to listen to eight great startups, eight big ideas,
00:01:56sharing their concepts, really showing what, showing off almost, showcasing what Italian innovation really is all about.
00:02:05So let me just tell you how this will run through, very simply, three minutes, a startup will stand here,
00:02:12share their big idea to you, the audience, you online, but maybe more importantly to our jury members here on
00:02:20my left.
00:02:20After that three minutes, we then go into some questions from our jury members to find out a little bit
00:02:27more how these startups tick, how they see things, and help the jury members make up their mind who will
00:02:36walk away a winner of this competition.
00:02:39Let me introduce to you now our jury members who will decide the fate, well not the fate of the
00:02:45startups, who will decide together who that lucky and well-deserved startup will be.
00:02:50So first of all, we have trade analyst Sonia Bourguin, welcome, we also have from the Italian trade agency, Paulina
00:02:58Lopresti, we also have CEO of Le Village by CA Milano, Gabriella Scalpeccio, we also have from Weira X, Luisa
00:03:09Rubio, and from School Labs, Startups, Anne Mordom.
00:03:15There we are, so these are our great, beautiful jury who will decide the winner of this competition.
00:03:22You will have your favorites, I'm sure, Anne at home, wherever you are, at work, wherever you are joining us
00:03:27online, you'll have your favorites as well.
00:03:29Remember, everybody you hear and see right on this stage right now, if you go over to the Viva Tech
00:03:36web app, you can find all the startups, everything about them.
00:03:40So, you're curious, you'd like to know more, reach out over LinkedIn and have a chat and see where these
00:03:46conversations can actually move forward.
00:03:49Are we ready for the first startup?
00:03:51Yes, we are.
00:03:52Right, ladies and gentlemen, please, welcome to the stage, first startup of this Italian innovation extravaganza, very simply known as
00:04:01Data Prodigy.
00:04:09Sorry, we have this one, how is it, sorry, green, green, look.
00:04:18Okay, hello, everybody, my name is Sano, I'm the founder of Data Prodigy.
00:04:23So, okay, so we are talking about big data, we are talking about using of our data, and today it's
00:04:32always needed a tech skill to use our data, even if you are working with Excel files.
00:04:37How many of you have some problems using Excel files and managing and organizing their own data without knowledge of
00:04:45Excel files?
00:04:46When we come to corporate and big companies, this problem became bigger and very expensive, because we are talking about
00:04:53business intelligence platforms and reporting systems that today have some limitations regarding how to organize better the data and how
00:05:03to access in an easy way this data.
00:05:05So, we create our platform, that is, reduce this cost and these problems, because it has a big impact of
00:05:18companies' value, calculated by 3.8 billion just in the United States, because bad managing of data.
00:05:28So, we create our platform that is very smart, very easy to be used, because all you need is just
00:05:33your voice, okay?
00:05:35You just need to talk to the platform, say, hey, give me my expense of this year, compare me the
00:05:41growth of my sales, give me the impact of my department cost in my production, and every kind of question,
00:05:50you just need to use your voice.
00:05:52You don't need to have any technical skill, you don't need to ask your IT department to develop anything, it's
00:05:59not needed, nothing.
00:06:00There is a magic made by Data Prodigy with a machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data engine that can connect
00:06:07to any kind of source.
00:06:09And today, we have already developed all these platforms, Oracle, that are very famous business intelligence platforms.
00:06:17So, we stay on top of them, we make them faster, we make them easier to be used, and we
00:06:23reduce the cost of developing new reporting system.
00:06:27So, the reporting for NBI data.
00:06:31We created Data Prodigy to be very personalized and extended, easily extended, because every company has its own logic.
00:06:40So, we have developed the first system that map how to create a report that today is not managed by
00:06:49any BI systems, not present in any way.
00:06:52When today it comes to create like a new report, it's always made by email.
00:06:57So, the manager of business area communicates with IT department to say, hey, I need this new report made by
00:07:04this data and make it for us.
00:07:07Nobody maps this information in any platform.
00:07:10So, we digitalize this process, and we create it very easy to be managed by the manager automatically, without the
00:07:18interaction, offline interaction.
00:07:24Okay, I leave this one.
00:07:26There we are.
00:07:26We'll never know.
00:07:27We'll never, we might know.
00:07:28But that, that sound tells us we're out of time, unfortunately, just to be fair and square.
00:07:32Right, let's hear, let's hear from our jury members about what they've just heard.
00:07:39Can you hear me?
00:07:40Yeah.
00:07:40Yes.
00:07:41Thank you a lot.
00:07:42Yeah, one question, because you said you have to customize for every customer you have, in order to be able
00:07:48to create customized reports.
00:07:49How long does it take for you to customize for everyone?
00:07:54There is the setup period that is about three months, and with the setup period, we are managing to make
00:08:01all the platform ready to be used in the net.
00:08:04So, there is not a lot of time consuming or cost in personalizing it.
00:08:09Everything is made automatically by the platform, and we can teach the platform like, keywords like comparison, maximum, minimum, every
00:08:19keywords that the company are using in their environment, with that in the three months of setup.
00:08:26Thank you.
00:08:29Do you have any competitors with a similar solution as you?
00:08:34Yes, we have in Italy, and also around the world, competitors that have developed this kind of solution.
00:08:41The biggest advantage of Data Prodigy is that we are not replacing actual system.
00:08:48Many of our competitors, they replace the actual system present in the company.
00:08:53So, if you want it, you need to, for example, if you want the solution, you need to remove Power
00:08:59BI, Oracle BI, or any business intelligence platform that is already installed.
00:09:04With Data Prodigy, we just enhance the usage, so it stays on top of it.
00:09:08We are not using the, recreating the wheel, we are just making everything better and easier to be used.
00:09:17Hi, you said on your pitch that your product could be used by anyone within an organization, but I would
00:09:23love to know more about who is your main customer within a big multinational,
00:09:28and what's the benefit that they could get by using a product like yours?
00:09:32Okay, in this moment, our main customers are banking, okay, and the department, our operation department, that get use of
00:09:42Data Prodigy to enhance and merge more offline data with business intelligence data that are already made, that are already
00:09:53standard.
00:09:53So, today, they have this type of activity that costs them one week or ten days of work to extract
00:10:01information and merge them with offline data.
00:10:04With Data Prodigy, they do it just in a couple of minutes.
00:10:10A beautiful sound once again, ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together for Data Prodigy, well done.
00:10:18There we are, setting the tone of this competition, all about, again, all about Italian, the best of Italian innovation
00:10:25right here, right now, here at Vivitech 2022.
00:10:30Right, what we're going to do now, we're going to kind of leave Paris a little bit and go over
00:10:34to, once again, Zoom World, we should have EZ Lab ready and waiting, coming through right now.
00:10:40I can feel EZ Lab coming through, here they come, there we are, hello.
00:10:45Hello? Hello, everyone.
00:10:47Wonderful.
00:10:47I'm from EZ Lab, from Padova.
00:10:49You're in Padova right now?
00:10:52Exactly, in Padova, close to Venice.
00:10:54Wonderful, right, listen, I'm going to give you now three minutes, three minutes is yours, be back a little bit
00:10:59later, take it away.
00:11:02Okay, let me, okay, now I can control my presentation, I think.
00:11:09So, we are EZ Lab, we are an Italian company, and we are specialized in blockchain solution.
00:11:17Our vision is to provide data for the digital economy, and why this is really important?
00:11:22Because nowadays, data embraces every single aspect of a life of a company, especially embraces every single aspect of the
00:11:31supply chain, and the chain of value of a company is made of specific data.
00:11:36So, why we are using blockchain?
00:11:39We are using blockchain because blockchain is the best technology for releasing the power of data.
00:11:45And releasing the power of data means, it means making the data trustable, reliable, in a way that no other
00:11:54technology can do.
00:11:55For example, we have a supply chain, sorry, I received something, okay.
00:12:04We have a supply chain that is a complex flux of information.
00:12:09We have multiple information, we have multiple data inside the supply chain, and it is not easy to manage.
00:12:15But for the company, it is a necessity, and sometimes this is a problem.
00:12:20But this complexity, that is perceived as a cost, can be turned in a value.
00:12:26How this can be turned in a value?
00:12:27By using the blockchain.
00:12:29Because in this case, you can manage the data, you can expose the data in a transparent and in a
00:12:35true way to the market, and giving value to your product.
00:12:39Because this is the secret sauce, this is the secret ingredient.
00:12:42The secret ingredient is that data are an added value, created over and above the traditional value of the product.
00:12:50The blockchain helps you in this way.
00:12:53It can provide the data, it can provide trusted data, it can turn internal data in trusted data that can
00:13:00be exposed to the market and giving more value to your product.
00:13:03And this is why we are using the trustability as the main exit for our solution.
00:13:10Because the trustability is fundamental for enhancing, it's fundamental for every single company.
00:13:17You have the trustability, you can enhance the trustability, and you can have a lot of data, you can have
00:13:22all the values of the company.
00:13:23Of course, you have also some time, industrial secrets that you need to hide, you need to keep inside.
00:13:29But you need to expose to the market what makes the difference about your company and about your product.
00:13:35You can turn the data into trusted data, and this is with the use of the blockchain.
00:13:41So, the interesting thing is that this is exactly what markets want.
00:13:47What is it that market wants?
00:13:48First of all, the market wants a direct relationship with the brands and the companies.
00:13:53The market wants trusted and reliable data.
00:13:56The consumer wants data more and more nowadays.
00:14:00And the real value of the data is about the capacity of guaranteeing the integrity and the trustability of this
00:14:10kind of data.
00:14:11So, true, and I don't know why the slide changed, sorry.
00:14:18And this is why we are using the blockchain to ensure the best transmission of data.
00:14:23But this is not enough.
00:14:25If we want to talk with the market...
00:14:29Sorry, your face when you heard that.
00:14:32There we are, unfortunately, only because of time.
00:14:34Yeah, I had some technical problem.
00:14:35No, but it's okay.
00:14:35We gave you a little bit more.
00:14:36We actually stopped the clock and gave you a little bit more time just to make it equal fair and
00:14:41square for everybody.
00:14:42That is that.
00:14:43Ladies and gentlemen, hands together for Easy Lab.
00:14:45Hopefully, you can hear them clap.
00:14:47Can you hear that?
00:14:49No?
00:14:50Yes, a little bit.
00:14:51A little bit.
00:14:51Well, they're going crazy for you.
00:14:53Crazy.
00:14:54Right.
00:14:55Let's hear...
00:14:56Aren't you?
00:14:57Yes.
00:14:58Let's hear from our jury members about what they've just heard.
00:15:01Two minutes.
00:15:04Yeah.
00:15:04Thank you.
00:15:06I feel this solution is super interesting.
00:15:08I just have a question about the data collection.
00:15:10How do you automate it and how do you incentive productors to collect the data?
00:15:17Yes.
00:15:18Generally, we use the API protocol to ensure the integrity of the data.
00:15:23The main issue is that we never want to touch the data.
00:15:26The data must come directly from the ERP of the company because it's the company that needs to take the
00:15:32responsibility for the data.
00:15:34We are not an entity deputy to control the data.
00:15:38We need to register to the blockchain and give it to the market.
00:15:42So, what we are doing is taking the data directly to the font, the ERP solution, and putting it in
00:15:51the blockchain, and then put it in the digital labeling with the API and with the JSON file to give
00:15:58the integrity and the continuation to the custody of the data.
00:16:05Hi.
00:16:06You have focused your pitch on the data collection process, but as I understood, part of your value proposition is
00:16:14to present the data to the end customer to generate trust on the brand.
00:16:20So, I don't know if you can explain more the B2C side of your product.
00:16:25Yes, the solution is divided in two different steps.
00:16:29The first step is about the data management, the internal data management.
00:16:33But then there is the second part.
00:16:35You need to expose the data to the market because data are what is giving value to your company and
00:16:40to your product.
00:16:41And this is why we created digital labeling is a landing page that is set specific with the information of
00:16:48the product.
00:16:49And it is specifically set to be customer centric.
00:16:52So, you have a solution that is creating around the consumer with the data coming from the inside of the
00:16:58company.
00:16:59This is the perfect match because you can expose your value using a medium like the digital labeling that is
00:17:06modern and entertaining.
00:17:09There we are.
00:17:10Oh, unfortunately, once again, we have to stop you only because of time.
00:17:13Ladies and gentlemen, once again, hands together for EasyLab.
00:17:15Thank you so much.
00:17:17We say farewell to Padova and we come back to Paris right now.
00:17:21There we have it.
00:17:22So, that's our second startup, our second big idea from Italy, Italian Innovation.
00:17:28This is what this is all about.
00:17:29Again, if you're just joining us, this is all about Italian Innovation.
00:17:32Six, six, eight, eight startups, eight big ideas, really showcasing what Italian Innovation is certainly all about.
00:17:41Let's move on now to our next startup right now.
00:17:44Please welcome to the stage, Fifth Ingenium.
00:17:52Hi.
00:17:53Hi, everybody.
00:17:55So, it's a pleasure to come back in presence, events of all these times.
00:18:00I'm Matteo Valoriani.
00:18:01I'm the founder of Fifth Ingenium.
00:18:03My company specializes on mixing reality.
00:18:06In general, we invest in emerging technology.
00:18:08Seven years ago, we decided to invest in augmented reality.
00:18:11And today, Metaverse is part of one of the big requests coming from all the customers.
00:18:18Well, we have a lot of experience with a lot of POC.
00:18:21And three years ago, we decided to create our own platform to simplify the creation of a mixed reality application.
00:18:30Because our world, the physical world, is blending with the digital world.
00:18:34And we are receiving more and more requests for applications that try to merge data coming from the digital world
00:18:41in the physical one.
00:18:42So, this is the reason why we created our own platform that tries to combine the best technology on the
00:18:47market and simplify the creation of applications.
00:18:51We also created four different vertical applications to simplify for our customers the delivery of their own content, specifically for
00:19:03each of the market.
00:19:04We cover the healthcare, the industry, and education and tourism.
00:19:09Why choose our platform?
00:19:11Well, our platform is totally hardware agnostic.
00:19:14So, we run on tablet, on smartphone, but also new generation of glasses, like HoloLens 2 or Unreal.
00:19:21At the same time, we can install our solution on cloud.
00:19:25So, you can easily deploy in a few moments.
00:19:28Or you can decide to install your own factory, your own data center.
00:19:34So, we can scale from a full cloud to total edge installation, going through also 5G network.
00:19:41So, we already have approved and certified the solution for 5G.
00:19:46So, all these are allowed to have a very simple solution to customize with no need of code skills.
00:19:53So, it's totally visual editor to compose the application and deliver the content.
00:19:58Just to give you an idea, this is the editor.
00:20:00You can go online, upload your contents, and in a few seconds, you are contents of your application.
00:20:06You define the storyboard, the contents, and then that's it.
00:20:10So, we can use this for, for example, to create a remote experience, a remote support experience.
00:20:18In this case, we have the remote expert working on a digital twin of the machinery.
00:20:23And the people on the field receive information and on the position on the remote expert.
00:20:29At the same time, receive also instruction and more and more data, especially if the machine is connected.
00:20:35Or, again, another example is for education.
00:20:38This is an example of a classroom on architecture, where you have a shared experience with other people in the
00:20:45same room,
00:20:46but with a focus on the content that is the 3D model.
00:20:50And you can manipulate, you can draw, you can create new contents itself inside the application.
00:20:55And finally, in the medical sector, here are I...
00:20:57Finally, finally, we will never know.
00:20:59We will never know the answer to what he's about to say.
00:21:01We might know, don't know.
00:21:02But what's going to happen right now, we'll listen to our jury members about what you've been sharing.
00:21:14Hi.
00:21:15Hi.
00:21:17What are the next steps for your project in the future?
00:21:22Well, now we work on 26 countries in the world, especially in Europe and Middle East, North Africa.
00:21:30We expand our structure.
00:21:33We are going to open an office in Munich this year and continue to grow.
00:21:38So, from one side, we create a network of distributors and partners in all the world to support our customers
00:21:45in different countries.
00:21:48You talked about your... the application on education and industry.
00:21:54What about healthcare? How do you...
00:21:56Yeah. For the healthcare, we have a specific application that supports medical doctors in communication with patients.
00:22:03So, in many countries, it's an obligation by law to explain the treatment before a surgery or before a complex
00:22:12plan.
00:22:13And this is one use case. The other one is, of course, prepare the planning of the treatment itself, especially
00:22:21when you talk about complex surgery or second opinion.
00:22:25You need to work with the expert on the other side of the world or otherwise, if you need to
00:22:30work with a medical lab that produces prosthetics or implants for you.
00:22:35So, you need to collaborate, also, in this case.
00:22:40Did you do already some fundraising?
00:22:44Yeah, we...
00:22:45And how much are your revenues at the moment?
00:22:49We have our revenues over 1 million and this year will be around 1 million and a half.
00:22:54And we raised money two years ago and we are going to raise another round.
00:22:58The last year, last time, it was a bit less of 1 million.
00:23:02And now, we prepare a round of over...
00:23:06Around 2 million.
00:23:09Ladies and gentlemen, hands together for our startup, Italian startup, 5th in Guinea, and well done.
00:23:14Thank you.
00:23:17Beautiful, wonderful. There we are.
00:23:19So, we move forward again.
00:23:21All of these great startups are from Italian, showcasing Italian innovation.
00:23:27Again, on the Viva Tech web app, you can find everybody, all the startups that are sharing their ideas right
00:23:33on there.
00:23:34And, again, reach out to them.
00:23:35You're curious, you'd like to know more.
00:23:37Reach out to them, start a conversation with them, which is exactly why they're here and what they want to
00:23:42do as well.
00:23:43Let's move on now to the next startup.
00:23:46Now, this startup is very simply called IsCleanAir.
00:23:57Hello, everybody.
00:23:58I'm Chiara from IsCleanAir.
00:24:01IsCleanAir aims to clean the air we all breathe.
00:24:04So, do you know that air pollution, indoor and outdoor air pollution, causes every year around the world more than
00:24:119 million of premature deaths?
00:24:13And, from an economic point of view, causes quite $3 trillion of economic costs?
00:24:19For this reason, IsCleanAir developed an innovative solution, which is called EPA, Air Pollution Abatement System, which is certified from
00:24:29the European Commission as a best available technology, and from Solar Impulse Foundation as one of the most sustainable technologies.
00:24:38Why? Because we don't use filters, only water, just water and mechanical process to clean the air we breathe.
00:24:46And, it is also certified as a medical device, because it's able to abate also ultra-fine nanoparticles, which are
00:24:54several times smaller than viruses and bacteria, which makes EPA effective, also reducing the presence and spread of SARS-CoV
00:25:02-2.
00:25:02So, the technology could be applied in indoor and outdoor environment, is very versatile, and goes beyond air pollution.
00:25:12Why? Because it is very effective in cleaning the ambience from the air pollution, detect and reduce the risk of
00:25:20viruses spread and contamination,
00:25:22and, when integrated with the air treatment units in buildings, can also save and guarantee a low energy consumption, up
00:25:33to 25% in comparison with other solutions in the market.
00:25:37In this case, we can also guarantee an abatement of CO2 coming from the energy usage and also directly from
00:25:45the abatement of air pollution in the air.
00:25:47In fact, we did a comparative index, and we are certified as one of the best technologies in the world
00:25:54in terms of air pollution, in terms of performance, target pollutants, and unique selling preposition.
00:26:00We are not new in the market, because we already did 200 installations around the world.
00:26:05We did an important project in Ciampino Airport, both in indoor and outdoor environment, in the train station of Tel
00:26:12Aviv, and in a pollution-free school room.
00:26:14In fact, our business model is find partnerships.
00:26:22In fact, we are working with 10 large clients, and we do a 21 air pollution expert, and we have
00:26:29in pipeline 75 more projects.
00:26:34Our business model is very strategic, because we want to make available and at service of everyone our technology, at
00:26:41service of people, health, and environment.
00:26:44In fact, we work with the intellectual property transfer agreement, and our revenue are based on fees, royalties, and some
00:26:52sales of some components.
00:26:55We are working with the air purification market, traditionally, but we are working also in the indoor market.
00:27:01Thank you very much.
00:27:02Ladies and gentlemen, hands together for IsCleanAir.
00:27:05There we have it.
00:27:06Right.
00:27:07We'll now listen.
00:27:08We're going to listen to our jury members.
00:27:10Thank you for your pitch, and first of all, congratulations for the results achieved so far.
00:27:16I don't know if you are planning, maybe not today, but in the near future, also to expand into the
00:27:23consumer segment, because I perfectly see your solution, for example, at home, right?
00:27:29If I live, I don't know, maybe in a city with a lot of pollution.
00:27:32An upcoming project is to have, with each, the Made in Italy showcase on Amazon, in order to target the
00:27:41B2C market, and give to the people the possibility to have our flower pot, an interior design solution, in home,
00:27:48smart buildings, and also project directly to people, and more directly to B2C market.
00:27:59Thank you.
00:28:00Thank you.
00:28:01I have one question.
00:28:02I don't realize how many stations do you need to clean an entire train station, or an entire city.
00:28:08How many devices, you mean?
00:28:10Yeah.
00:28:11So, it depends from the environment.
00:28:13The more bigger is the environment, the more devices we need.
00:28:17But the important thing is that they communicate each other.
00:28:21So, if you surround the area with different devices, they create like a balloon of safe area.
00:28:29So, if you put some devices surrounding an area, you can have up to 99% of safe area.
00:28:37Okay, and just an additional question.
00:28:40So, who is your customer?
00:28:41Is it the government, the cities, or the corporates?
00:28:44Large corporates, but also big industrial players who have this kind of big emissions, but also municipalities and governmental entities.
00:28:53But we are also opening to partnership, also with the small enterprises and company, in order to create a co
00:29:02-creation project.
00:29:04Thank you.
00:29:05Your device can be used also in private buildings.
00:29:10is not only private, but also public, because we can also benefit from the investment of some grants.
00:29:20There we have it.
00:29:21Again, ladies and gentlemen, hands together for Ease Clean Air.
00:29:23Wonderful.
00:29:23Fantastic.
00:29:25There we have it.
00:29:26We move forward.
00:29:27We're going through, again, we are going through so many of these great ideas from Italy.
00:29:32Innovation from Italy.
00:29:33Beautiful to hear.
00:29:35Beautiful to see.
00:29:36And guess what?
00:29:37We've got more coming right now.
00:29:38But, ladies and gentlemen, welcome the next startup to the stage, very simply called LifeData.
00:29:51Hi, everyone.
00:29:53Omar Fognaadini from LifeData.
00:29:55We are proud part of Le Village of Milan.
00:29:58We transform real-time interaction into sales or customer lifetime value.
00:30:03So, have a look here.
00:30:05Every company today is claiming to be omnichannel just because they are having their commerce and a store.
00:30:11But, in reality, we as a customer, we are very diverse.
00:30:15We are not anymore interacting only in this way.
00:30:18There are a lot of channels, a lot of touch points.
00:30:21So, what is happening, especially for a B2B company, when I mean B2B, I say when there is a sales
00:30:27force, a trade, is that we are having this kind of a mess.
00:30:32We are having a lot of relationship, a lot of data that companies are not able to use because today
00:30:38companies are limited by the system that they are having.
00:30:41So, the customer is always, or let's say, the companies are out of sync, always.
00:30:48And we are faster.
00:30:49So, what is the company dream?
00:30:51Everyone.
00:30:52So, what about if dealing with most part of the companies here was like dealing with the Apple Store, where
00:31:00you can chat, where you can have real-time support, where you can have a friendly person waiting, knowing exactly
00:31:06what you need.
00:31:07So, that's what we do.
00:31:08We are having a software.
00:31:10We built a software that is working on real-time interaction because today we are very volatile.
00:31:16We change our mind in one second net.
00:31:20So, real-time is what is really making a company today customer-centric.
00:31:25And it's not anymore being omnichannel.
00:31:28It's omnichannel because we are moving across channels in our experience.
00:31:34Now, I will be showing you some real-life examples based on a simple point.
00:31:40Companies are having already data.
00:31:42In the CRM, you can target the accounts.
00:31:45But the problem is that this data is not becoming an action.
00:31:48We make this data an action in real-time, automated or through their sales force, guiding their sales force to
00:31:56the specific action to the right account in this moment.
00:31:59Now, this is a classical omnichannel example where if you are a brand, you need to launch a specific digital
00:32:07resource and then maybe you need to do clienteling one-to-one with the store manager.
00:32:12It looks simple.
00:32:14How many companies are able to blend the physical and the digital like this?
00:32:18Other examples are based on a simple point.
00:32:21Anytime you really go omnichannel, you are short-cutting.
00:32:25Everything is becoming faster because today we are in the millisecond economy.
00:32:30So, maybe instead of using emails, you move your newsletter and promos directly on WhatsApp.
00:32:36This is giving six times more results today.
00:32:39Or you leverage for a specific target automated communication in Instagram.
00:32:45Those are all touch points that today are used separated, split.
00:32:49We are a technology unifying the data and the management of those according to specific business processes.
00:32:59I was not at the end, but I got the end.
00:33:02It's okay.
00:33:03I'm sure.
00:33:03How long more did you have?
00:33:04I'm sure you're fine.
00:33:05We'll find out.
00:33:06We may never know.
00:33:07We may know now.
00:33:08Let's hear from our jury members.
00:33:13I go.
00:33:15Amazing solution.
00:33:16I really enjoyed it.
00:33:18One question, because we are talking about data.
00:33:21What are the KPI you are following and you are tracking for your customers?
00:33:25We got a North Star, customer lifetime value.
00:33:30Because today is not about acquiring a customer or keeping a customer or the ticket value.
00:33:36Very often, most part of the companies here are having an acquisition cost that is a lot higher than what
00:33:41they will make in the first time.
00:33:42So, we really work on the customer lifetime value that is a complex KPI where you need to blend a
00:33:47lot of them.
00:33:48This is why, you know, when you go omnichannel, the real point is this one.
00:33:53The customer lifetime value of an omnichannel customer is six times an e-commerce or digital-first customer.
00:34:04Can you tell us about your integration process and if it requires some type of training of the sales force
00:34:12to start using your product?
00:34:14No, we choose to use something that is already in people's habits.
00:34:18So, why you have seen a lot of WhatsApp or similar interfaces?
00:34:21Just because people, they are already using that.
00:34:24So, you are not changing their habits.
00:34:26You just make the business processes in the interface or let's say in the touchpoint that they are using.
00:34:32So, in terms of integration with the business, it really depends on the digital maturity of the company and on
00:34:37the use case.
00:34:38So, we manage from airports to large marketplaces like the Yellow Pages or large brands like Louis Vuitton, similar.
00:34:46They use some of our technologies.
00:34:48So, the point is that as you go deeper with the company, you need more integration.
00:34:53You need more data science.
00:34:54It really depends on the use case.
00:34:57There are a lot of companies that are starting with a simple POC that takes two days and then you
00:35:01go live.
00:35:02And we get our data our side.
00:35:06Ladies and gentlemen, hands together for Life Data.
00:35:09Thank you so much.
00:35:10Thank you.
00:35:10Wonderful.
00:35:11There we have it.
00:35:12So, we're listening to these big ideas and I'm sure as audience members, you're listening in.
00:35:18And in your mind, you're probably deciding perhaps who you feel would be your favorite to walk away a winner
00:35:24of this competition.
00:35:26Again, those of you at home, you'll probably do the same thing as well.
00:35:29But more importantly, it's what our jury feel.
00:35:32Now, I look at the jury now.
00:35:34I see smiles.
00:35:35I see four smiles.
00:35:38And now I see a fifth smile, finally.
00:35:44And I'm trying to figure out what's going on in your mind.
00:35:46We'll never know.
00:35:47Well, we will know at the end how you feel about everything because you're going to come together and you're
00:35:53going to decide who that lucky winner, well, lucky, well-deserved winner is of this Italian innovation competition actually is.
00:36:01So, let's move on now to our next startup right now.
00:36:04Now, please welcome to the stage, Mark One.
00:36:16Nice to meet you.
00:36:17I'm Mark Ozzani.
00:36:18I'm founder and CEO of Mark One.
00:36:20I founded Mark One in 2016 and now we are 16 people around the young talents and senior from multinational
00:36:30team.
00:36:35The problem in the last 10 years is the supply chain of the manufacturing industries and we see changing drastically
00:36:44and the COVID accelerates this process.
00:36:47The people and companies and manufacturing industries need to create customizable parts, small bench and short times.
00:36:56And thinking what can change when you're thinking a project or a product and in other parts of the world
00:37:03you can produce in real time directly without waste, without just in time reducing time.
00:37:11And you don't need a warehouse, so we can change drastically the supply chain of the world.
00:37:21The additive manufacturing is a grow fast market and growing 20% per year and yeah, the best sector are
00:37:31the manufacturing industries.
00:37:33Our vision is to integrate our solution to changing and revolutionize the supply chain of the industries and we provide
00:37:41not also a 3D printer but also the knowledge to integrate in the right process all of the different stuff
00:37:51of the 3D printer and the knowledge.
00:37:54We have developed different products from small production to industrial production depends material and the needs of the company and
00:38:03we create our proprietary main board to control the entire process to create better parts and more stronger.
00:38:10We work in different application sectors like airspace automotive and industrial automation and also in the medical and mechanical parts
00:38:18and we have around 150 clients around the world and in 10 different sectors.
00:38:25So our business model is a start when we sell it to be printed but also we have our attention
00:38:32of the client with training assistance consumable and we make a journey with our client also with our main board
00:38:42and the software around it.
00:38:45The next step is to develop the business international like USA, Germany, France and South Arabia
00:38:55because it's the best place where our manufacturing industries
00:38:59become a leader in additive manufacturing in Italy
00:39:03but also a leader in different niches of market like packaging or automotive
00:39:10For now we raise 3 million and we're looking to a partner and a city in the next round. Thank
00:39:17you
00:39:20Keep hold of that, don't take that and keep hold of that because you're going to need it right now
00:39:26because I think Anne is going to ask you a question. Is that right?
00:39:31Thank you a lot. You didn't talk about your competitors like what the main difference between what you're doing and
00:39:37what they are doing
00:39:38So yeah, we have different competitors around the world. The structure of competitors is different
00:39:45because we're thinking additive manufacturing like a new technology but it's not a new technology
00:39:52So there are biggest competitors around the world and everywhere
00:39:57and the small competitors locally in different areas
00:40:02About that we haven't the small competitors have our vision like industries
00:40:10and but we compare with the biggest because the biggest have for sure more money to develop and create the
00:40:20industry
00:40:20but it's a slow process
00:40:22So yeah, it depends where we need to go and the approach
00:40:28because when talking about 3D printing there are different technologies, different applications, different sectors
00:40:35so it's very, very useful
00:40:37In this competitive market why a company has to choose you instead of another competitor, big or small?
00:40:46Which is your unicity in the solution?
00:40:49Our unicity is because more times when you're thinking 3D printing you're thinking a machine
00:40:56but when we sell a machine what we sell is end user components
00:41:01and the quality of the end user components
00:41:03and to make it we need to combine a diversity of 3D printer material process
00:41:10and we're developing our main board to control better this process and make more stronger parts
00:41:19Having a startup with a hardware component is not easy
00:41:23so how are you doing to deal with all the challenges related to shipping, manufacturing the printer and all of
00:41:31that?
00:41:33We'll never know
00:41:34What a lovely, beautiful question
00:41:36but we'll never know that
00:41:38You can say the answer a little bit afterwards
00:41:40whether you know you're a winner or not, I don't know
00:41:43Anyway, ladies and gentlemen hands together
00:41:45Thank you
00:41:45Four mark one, well done
00:41:49Three minutes, two minutes, that's two minutes
00:41:51So two minutes can go so quickly, can't it?
00:41:53Even three minutes
00:41:55Three minutes for some lifetime for others very, very quick indeed
00:42:01We move on to our next startup
00:42:04This is a startup very simply known as Pigro
00:42:16Hi everybody, I'm Nick, CEO of Pigro
00:42:19At Pigro we are shaping a world without folders
00:42:22where people can just find information easily
00:42:26You have to know that 41% of managers rank as top one problem to solve
00:42:31the content findability
00:42:32That's because inside an enterprise there are several sources of information
00:42:37Each one has its own search feature
00:42:39So that the users jump from repository to repository to find what they are looking for
00:42:44and struggle with poor search experiences
00:42:47So poor that the 13% of their time is wasted in creating content that already exists
00:42:53because they are not able to find it
00:42:57Introducing Pigro
00:42:58An AI powered search engine
00:43:01retrieving any information inside any kind of file
00:43:04from any repository of your organization in just a few seconds
00:43:10Our customers just have to connect their repository
00:43:13We import and then update any kind of digital content
00:43:18Once the documents are imported
00:43:20users can ask complex questions using natural language
00:43:23and they will get clear-cut answers
00:43:26The exact portion of text that answer to their question
00:43:30Nothing more
00:43:31No need to read the whole document
00:43:34And as the knowledge gets created inside the company
00:43:37Pigro updates itself in the background
00:43:39without any human intervention
00:43:42So that people that are creating content inside the company
00:43:45can keep work as they always did
00:43:48Our revenue model is simple
00:43:50We have a flat monthly fee plus a price per user per month
00:43:54We have closed deals with outstanding names
00:43:57And we have seven active customers
00:44:00And three ongoing proof of concept that you can see here
00:44:04We have closed 2021 with 300,000 euros in revenue
00:44:08which 40% was recurring
00:44:10And we want to reach by 2025 8.5 million in revenues
00:44:14To get there we will invest 90,000 euros each month in digital marketing
00:44:20To generate leads that will allow us to close four deals each month
00:44:25Thanks to our established meeting to customer conversion rate of 10%
00:44:30Our return on investment is 20 times the acquisition cost
00:44:34And we have 90% gross margin on annual fee
00:44:39We are 100% bootstrapped
00:44:42We are raising at the moment 2 million pounds to standardize our product
00:44:47To get important certification
00:44:48And to acquire 50 new customers between EU and UK
00:44:54Finally, our team
00:44:55I co-founded Pigro with Nicola four years ago
00:44:59I have 10 years experience as a developer
00:45:01Nicola has worked for more than 20 years in multinational companies
00:45:05In operations, sales and marketing positions
00:45:08Gabriele has helped a dozen of big businesses
00:45:11Succeeding in digital, inbound and outbound marketing strategies
00:45:15So what's next?
00:45:17Come with us and join the enterprise search revolution
00:45:23Exactly on time
00:45:25You were to the second on time
00:45:27Feels good, right?
00:45:29Yeah
00:45:29But how?
00:45:30Even if I'm Pigro, that means lazy in Italian
00:45:32Really?
00:45:33Yeah
00:45:34So your startup name means lazy?
00:45:37Yeah
00:45:38Because we want our customers to be a little bit lazier
00:45:42Okay
00:45:42Having a name called lazy
00:45:45I'm not sure whether that's actually a good thing or bad thing
00:45:48But hey, let's find out from our jury members
00:45:54Congratulations
00:45:56I guess you are dealing with a lot of internal documents from the companies
00:46:00From your customers
00:46:01How do you deal with the safety and the confidentiality of this document?
00:46:06Yeah, of course, this is an important point because we work with big enterprises
00:46:10So we do penetration tests every year
00:46:13We, of course, sign regulatory contracts about cybersecurity
00:46:18So part of the investment will go in getting SOC 1, SOC 2 compliance
00:46:23And the ICO is ICO 27001 that will cover this
00:46:30But in the extreme cases we can be installed on premises
00:46:34So means that data doesn't access the company
00:46:38It's a plug-in solution or you have to make a lot of implementation on the IT system of the
00:46:46company?
00:46:46No, it's more or less completely automated
00:46:48We are able to set up the service in three weeks
00:46:53The only customized part is about the connectors
00:46:57Because some company doesn't have standard connectors
00:47:00Or we have to map rights for accessing content
00:47:03So that's the part that at the moment we are customizing
00:47:06But a company can start in three weeks with us
00:47:10What can you tell us about your sales strategy?
00:47:13Something that you are doing just by yourself with your team or with third-party channels?
00:47:18At the moment it's us doing that
00:47:21But with the investment we will change the way how we address the market
00:47:27So we will generate leads with digital marketing
00:47:30Then salespeople will manage these leads to have a call with the most promising leads
00:47:38And then close contracts
00:47:42So the point is that a product like the one we have
00:47:45Needs people that explain you the benefits and so on
00:47:50In order to close deals
00:47:52And there we have it ladies and gentlemen hands together for Pigro
00:47:56There we are Italy's laziest start-up
00:48:02Which they feel maybe is to their advantage
00:48:05We'll find out a little bit later on
00:48:08Right, we move on, shall we move on?
00:48:10Yeah, that's right
00:48:11We'll move on to our next start-up
00:48:15And this one is called Scaling Parrots
00:48:25Hello
00:48:28Hi everyone, my name is Davide Ferrari
00:48:31And I'm a blockchain consultant for Scaling Parrots
00:48:36Scaling Parrots was born in 2018 in Brescia
00:48:40And we are specialized in consulting and development of blockchain application and integration
00:48:47We have a solid team of 18 people
00:48:50Four of them are blockchain consultants
00:48:52And the 14 are blockchain developers
00:48:58And we work on all Ethereum virtual machine and blockchain
00:49:03So Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon
00:49:07And we made also some integration on Algorand, Liquid and Rust
00:49:19Our customers come from across various sectors
00:49:23For example, IoT
00:49:24Or IT
00:49:26But also fashion industry
00:49:27Real estate
00:49:28And gaming
00:49:30Gaming companies
00:49:32But also start-ups
00:49:33And professional
00:49:34And we made also some work with institutional
00:49:38For local projects
00:49:42And also we provide a consultancy part for the tokenomics
00:49:47And we go to our approach
00:49:51That we say is really direct and pragmatic
00:49:54Because it's mainly divided in two parts
00:49:56The first part is the consultancy part
00:49:58Where we make a document
00:50:02And we study which blockchain to use
00:50:07Why
00:50:08The use cases of the project
00:50:10And the reach of the platform
00:50:12And the second part of course
00:50:14Is the development of the review
00:50:16Of what we said
00:50:17And if it is in line with the needing
00:50:19The index of the customer
00:50:21And then there is the quotation
00:50:23And finally the development of what we have consult
00:50:30And talking about gaming
00:50:33I'd like to introduce our DeFi games
00:50:39Which is Planet Wars
00:50:40And it's a really innovative game
00:50:44Because it makes the DeFi protocols
00:50:48So all the decentralized finance
00:50:52With gamification
00:50:54Inside
00:50:55All in one platform
00:50:57At the moment
00:50:58There is an app online
00:51:01And we are going to launch this game
00:51:03In October
00:51:05And thank you
00:51:07There we are
00:51:08Scaling parrots
00:51:09Absolutely fantastic
00:51:11Right
00:51:11Let's hear from our jury members
00:51:13About what they've just heard
00:51:14Hi
00:51:15How are you planning to truly scale your company?
00:51:19Because from what I understood
00:51:20Your main focus is consultancy services
00:51:24And this is something you know
00:51:26Very one-on-one with each customer
00:51:30Yes, it's not purely consultancy
00:51:32But it's consultancy and development
00:51:34And our customer
00:51:36I mean our projects are really
00:51:38Teil-made projects
00:51:39So we start from the company
00:51:42Or the entrepreneur ideas
00:51:44And then we start to develop their ideas
00:51:48For example
00:51:49There is also sometimes
00:51:50That an entrepreneur has an idea
00:51:53And we say
00:51:54Why do you need blockchain for that?
00:51:57Because if you don't need
00:51:59We don't advise to go on with your project
00:52:02So that's why I said
00:52:04It's a really pragmatic approach
00:52:06Talking about scaling
00:52:08We never had a fundraising
00:52:11But we are planning to do that
00:52:13Both for the company
00:52:15And also for the game
00:52:17Because it will be
00:52:18A separate company
00:52:19Focused on the developer
00:52:21Of DeFi games
00:52:23Only DeFi games
00:52:26And you said you were targeting
00:52:27Various different customers
00:52:29You talked about real estate
00:52:31Gaming
00:52:31And much more IoT
00:52:33How do you organize your acquisition?
00:52:36The acquisition of the customers
00:52:38Usually
00:52:39Is not done directly by us
00:52:43The marketing part
00:52:44Is done by a marketing agency
00:52:47But it's mainly through
00:52:48Ads
00:52:49LinkedIn
00:52:50And Google Ads
00:52:52Or Facebook
00:52:53And then we reach them directly
00:52:56With a message
00:52:57And we have
00:52:59We just schedule a call
00:53:01With 20 minutes of a call
00:53:04And we see if
00:53:05We can start to collaborate
00:53:07So it's external actor
00:53:09Who is targeting
00:53:10And reaching the customers
00:53:12And bringing them to you?
00:53:13Yes
00:53:14Yes
00:53:15Yes
00:53:15It's target
00:53:17Advertisement
00:53:18Yes
00:53:25There we are
00:53:26I was waiting for it
00:53:28Because it went down
00:53:28Right
00:53:29There we have it
00:53:29Ladies and gentlemen
00:53:30Hands together for Scaling Parrots
00:53:34Wonderful Scaling Parrots
00:53:37Scaling Parrots
00:53:38Right
00:53:39There we have it
00:53:40Right

00:53:54To think to yourself

00:53:56Is
00:53:56The winner

00:54:06Is
00:54:07Our jury members here
00:54:08On my left hand side
00:54:09Will walk off the stage

01:00:08They went off, they decided, I could hear them, I don't know if it was a tough decision, but I
01:00:14could hear there was arguments, there was chatter, there was everything, but finally I believe we actually have a winner
01:00:22right now, so on my left hand side, obviously all our jury members, ladies and gentlemen, hands together for our
01:00:28jury members.
01:00:29They gave up their time, they gave up their expertise, so thank you so much. Clapping for yourself, that's fantastic,
01:00:35yes, Anze, that's right, I give up my time for you.
01:00:37Right, shall we find out who the actual winner is? Yes, let's do that.
01:00:42But before we do, Paulino, tell us, was it a tough decision? How did you come up with the jury,
01:00:49with the winner?
01:00:50It was not an easy decision, there were many of the nice ideas out there, very original, but I think
01:00:59we were unanimous in finding a winner. Should I announce it myself?
01:01:04Would you like to? No, no, you go ahead.
01:01:08Okay, ladies and gentlemen, the winner of the Italian innovation, drum roll, this should be one, the winner of the
