00:00Hello and a very good afternoon to you. Plenty of sunshine around for much of the UK today,
00:06but it will still be feeling quite cool, particularly on north eastern coast. So let's
00:10take a look at the satellite image from earlier. You can see for parts of north eastern Scotland
00:14and the north east coast of England, there were some showers around through this morning, but
00:18those will tend to thin as we head through this afternoon. But for the bulk of the country, a
00:22largely dry day, plenty of sunshine around, but as you can see that rain, that cloud already
00:26thickening from the south west, so it will be a touch hazier across parts of northern
00:30island Wales and the south west. Looking through the rest of Tuesday then, so the best of that
00:35sunshine will be across the northern half of Scotland and perhaps parts of north east England
00:40away from any of those showers. The wind will be particularly brisk down that north east coast and
00:45will be feeling quite cool, but those winds will ease as we head through the later part of the
00:49afternoon. So for many places, seeing a fine and dry afternoon, those winds easing down the central
00:55part of the UK, but we will see those clouds turning a little bit milkier. Northern Ireland,
01:00Wales in particular, starting to see a bit more of that hazy sunshine. By the end of the afternoon
01:06as well, we do have that rain band already arriving into Devon and Cornwall, and we start to see that
01:10wind picking up through Tuesday afternoon, evening as well. Temperature-wise, so the mildest temperatures
01:16will be across that far south west into the double figures here. Elsewhere under that cool northerly flow,
01:22it will be four or five degrees, and again, yeah, feeling quite cool with the breeze as well.
01:28Moving through Tuesday afternoon, evening then, so we've got some showers continuing. This could be
01:33sleet and snow mix across parts of Shetland and Orkney. Elsewhere, a largely dry night, but we do
01:38start to see some cloud moving in as well. Elsewhere, this rain band start to move across Northern Ireland,
01:44Wales, and particularly south western parts of England, and we do see those winds picking up as well.
01:50So that's south-eastly direction again, and particularly gusty over high ground and along
01:54some exposed coasts across the south coast of the UK. There will be a touch of sleet and snow,
02:01perhaps for Northern Ireland and perhaps over the high ground of Wales, but on the bulk,
02:05it will be largely falling as rain on Wednesday morning. Temperature-wise, again, fairly mild across
02:12the far south west, but a cold start for most places. Temperatures around zero or just below in some
02:18spots, and if you've got some cooler areas, particularly over the high ground where you've
02:22got lying snow in parts of Scotland as well. So moving through Wednesday, we've got this cool
02:29northerly flow across most of the UK, but with this frontal system pushing up with mild air and
02:34some precipitation, there is a risk of snow on its northern flank. And there we do have a little bit
02:40of
02:40uncertainty, but on the whole, there is a risk of seeing some snow on that as we move through
02:45Wednesday night and through Thursday. So let's look at how things progress through Wednesday.
02:50So we've got a yellow rain warning for the very southern half of England,
02:54and that's for some heavy rain, and we see widely 10 to 20 mils in that area, but we could
02:59see up to
02:59maybe 50 mils of parts of Dartmoor. Then as this moves into that cold air, we start to see some
03:04snow
03:05falling, particularly around the south-eastern half of Wales, perhaps Shropshire as well, and we start to
03:12see that turning to snow on its northern flank. And again, with those winds picking up, it'll be
03:17feeling a lot cooler and chillier for many places on Wednesday. There is a yellow snow warning likely
03:23to be enforced from Wednesday afternoon. So again, it's going to be across this section here through
03:31Wales and into parts of Shropshire, and it's going to be mostly over high ground. So places above 150 to
03:37200 metres, we'll be seeing around two to five centimetres, about three or 400 foot, 300 feet
03:43metres that we could be seeing up to 10 to 15 centimetres. So depending on how high you are
03:48will really depend on how much snow that you will see on this feature as it comes through Wednesday
03:52night and through to Thursday. Temperature-wise, though, in the afternoon, so again, still fairly mild
03:58across the very far south-west and still holding on to those single figures. And with that breeze,
04:03again, it'll be another cool and chilly feeling day, particularly across the northern eastern half
04:08of the UK too. Moving through Wednesday night then, so we continue to have that rain band with that mix
04:14of snow in the mix across particularly this parts of Wales and Middle England as well. And it'll be
04:23another blustery evening too. If you want to check out any more on that snow or see how the weather
04:30develops where you are, please do keep an eye on our YouTube channel and stay up to date with the
