The Johor Immigration Department has intensified enforcement through an Ops Sapu operation in Skudai, Johor Baru, resulting in the detention of 41 illegal immigrants.

Johor Immigration director Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus said the surprise operation on Monday (Feb 16) night was carried out following intelligence gathering and continuous monitoring in the area.

00:00The Johor Immigration Department detained 41 illegal immigrants
00:03during an Opsapu enforcement operation in Skudai on Monday night.
00:07The raid targeted business premises, foreign worker hotspots and high-risk locations.

00:18Officers had inspected a two-story business premises
00:20and found some illegal immigrants staying in living quarters on the upper floor.
00:25Some tried to flee and hide in rooms but were successfully apprehended.
00:28Those arrested included 7 adult Indonesian men, 19 adult Myanmar men, 11 adult Myanmar women
00:35and 4 adult Indonesian women aged 16 to 49.
00:40Initial checks found they lacked valid travel documents and had overstayed.
00:44All individuals are suspected of offenses under the Immigration Act 1959-63
00:50and have been sent to the Setia Tropica Immigration Depot for further investigation.
