00:00The immigration department detained 35 foreigners, aged between 18 and 55, for working without
00:08valid permits at local shops in Johor Bahru on Tuesday.
00:13Its state immigration director, Datuk Mohamad Rusti Mohamad Darus, said the operation was
00:18carried out following public tip-offs.
00:21Those arrested included individuals from Indonesia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand, India
00:28and Afghanistan.
00:30Among them were six Indonesian women.
00:33Mohamad Rusti said five Malaysians were also issued notices to assist in the investigation.
00:39The foreign suspects were taken to the Setia Tropika immigration depot for offences including
00:44entering Malaysia without valid passes, overstaying and abusing social visit passes.
