00:00Eli Tomac was the fast qualifier one last week in Seattle and Nichols wins the LCQ.
00:08Back to the same story every week. These players are all still here and all believe tonight could
00:12be the night. Well, I mean, if he gets a good start, he's been super consistent and if he can
00:19execute, he can able, if he can get a good gap early on, maybe get someone like Zavace behind
00:27or Justin Cooper and with a little luck, Kenny and Eli and Cooper, a few markers back, that could
00:35be a perfect scenario. However, he could just straight up get it done even when those guys
00:39are behind him, but this is why they line up. It's going to be a lot of fun to watch.
00:43This is a
00:44very, very difficult track here tonight. And it's been hot and cold for Tomac. Looked to be struggling
00:50in qualifying, then uncorked one lap that put him on top. The heat race was so-so. See how it
00:55turns
00:55out for the three. He told us JT was, JT, he told JT he was feeling good, ready to go.
01:02Still,
01:02though, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he's not 100%, but at the
01:06end of the day, I think he'll make the best of it. You know, this guy will make the best
01:10of it. Oh, 100%. And he was right there in that heat race as well. And it all comes down
01:16to these starts and track position early on, making it through the first laps. And putting
01:22in solid, consistent laps, getting in here to the midway point of this season, Reggie.
01:29Yeah. Shout out to Savace there. What could he do? It's been an unbelievable start to this
01:33season. And it's about to add another chapter. Arlington, revs her up. Gates down.
01:45Rockson on the inside. Webb with him. Side by side for the lead. Webb takes it. Oh, Webb was going
01:51to try to close
01:51out the 94 of Ken, but Ken says, no way. And gives it back to him. But Cooper is on
01:57the inside. He'll have
01:58the advantage right here, making the move. Two hole shots, two weeks in a row. For Webb with a triple
02:04into the whoops for Roxanne. Got him back. Yeah. Blitzing just a little quicker right there early on
02:12in this race. Coop looking back and the race is on. Remember I talked about, man, Kenny needs to
02:22rebound from last week. He lost a lot of points and this is perfect. Not only for Ken to make
02:28up
02:28points, but also for Cooper Webb. The last four rounds, he has made up close to 11 points on the
02:35lead.
02:36Hear the crowd reaction back there. Vince Friese had a good start. Looks like he got shuffled back.
02:41Hunter Lawrence up to third. It was Anderson in fourth who went down.
02:46Hunter Lawrence right there in tow. But man, these guys starting to build a little gap early on.
02:56And Tomac fourth bounce. Yeah, he's going to bounce through these whoops right here. And
03:01this is a dangerous position for these guys when Ken Robson's up front like this. But uh-oh.
03:09Cooper, or Eli Tomac. Yeah, that's why I wanted to mention him real quick. That the start wasn't
03:15great. And I don't even know how he did back. Me either. JT, I think you've got something on Tomac.
03:20I do. I can't believe he's already fourth. He had an atrocious jump out of the gate. He hugged
03:27the very inside and just tiptoed his way all the way around the inside of that long right-hand
03:33180 and somehow has found himself in this race. And from what the start looked like,
03:38I would have counted him out. But he's right back in this thing.
03:40100%. I'm with you, JT. I watched it. I mean, he almost looks like he got tangled up or Sexton

03:46tangled up with him. And they were buried in the pack. Then all of a sudden, he was ninth the
03:50first
03:50lap. And boom, here he is.
03:53Going to this corner here. Remember back to that 250 race. We now hear the AMA is reviewing.
03:59The red light was always soft for Shimoda. He rolled the jumps. They're reviewing to see if the light was
04:04on for Pierce Brown. Did he jump when the light was on? And the rule is whether there's a downed
04:09rider
04:09or not. If the light's on, you cannot jump. So try to get you more if that changes for Brown.
04:15Yeah, that's going to get interesting.
04:18Battle here between Sexton and Malcolm Stewart, but this is for 10th place.
04:23Sexton made the move.
04:24Oh, Sexton rolling right there. That was a great pass.
04:27Looking good on the bike. He had some really good laps early today.
04:31And he got tangled up on the start with Eli.
04:37Miranda's trying to make the move on Freezy. You had the great start.
04:40Yeah.
04:41And Sexton gets Freezy as well.
04:44And they're working on Blesinger.
04:47And Malcolm's right back on it.
04:50And Webb is right back on.
04:52Rocks into the bottom box for the lead.
04:54That right-hander, very difficult corner.
04:57It's dry, slick, and a right-hander normally.
05:03Right-handers are harder to turn on because you want to use that rear brake as a clutch sometimes
05:10and help you get around those corners.
05:12So you really have to lean on the mechanics of the bike and corners like that.
05:21Sexton working his way now into the top 10, challenging Miranda's will.
05:25Jason, he did get a good start, but he's doing a good job working through the pack now.
05:28And I just want to give you guys an update on where they're at.
05:31It's been well-documented his journey so far with Monster Energy, Kawasaki, and their struggles with the bike.
05:36Well, I was told Malcolm fights back for that position.
05:40I was told today that they were in Florida testing this week.
05:44And they feel that they've identified this one component in the bike.
05:48Peeling back the layers is how it was described to me as far as the testing goes.
05:52Revealing this component that they said has really been kind of holding Chase back from the comfort
05:56that he's been looking for all season.
05:59They said they've identified it.
06:01That is very different from instantly fixing it.
06:03They said they will continue to work on that and kind of like 50% there, they said, they told
06:08me.
06:08And they are going back testing again.
06:12Theo Lockwood, who works over there as the crew chief, he has stayed out here.
06:17He's going to go back to Florida.
06:19He won't get to go home this week.
06:21The message, guys, they are working incredibly hard.
06:23And we might have to see them now closer to the end result than we have ever seen them before.

06:32Yes, Sexton, he's showing some fight here.
06:35That was a big changeup, but Savace crashing.
06:37And there's the move from Sexton on Ferrandez.
06:40So he just picked up two spots.
06:41Ferrandez racing him really hard right now.
06:44And that really slowed down the progress of the four.
06:47Look at Ferrandez trying to make another move.
06:51Trying to contend that position.
06:53But I think if you have to look at that, the four is starting to pull away here.
06:59At the bottom of your screen, Coop doing a great job keeping Kenny honest right here.
07:04And then Hunter Lawrence, the red plate holder, is there.

07:10Man, and what a way it would be to win your first premier class win in Supercross and pass these
07:17two guys.
07:18Yeah, last year's champion and the master of the race.
07:21Oh, mistake by Webb.
07:22And there goes Hunter right by him for a second.
07:26So what happened there is Cooper went to exit that corner in the inside of the rut.
07:33But he got cross-rutted, wasn't able to jump onto that tabletop.
07:37Boom, Hunter makes the move.
07:39And it is on.
07:42You're not kidding.
07:43I mean, you've got, between Lawrence and Webb, two of the toughest guys late in the race.
07:48But they've got to deal with Roxton.
07:50He's persevering right now.
07:52And Tomek's close, too.
07:53Hunter lost forward drive going through the whoops right there.
07:56And the front started to pitch forward.
07:59He was able to save it.

09:24And you get the feeling it's really just getting started with all four of these riders in the fight.
09:30Kenny going back and forth on the whoops as far as jumping and blitzing.

09:43He revs his bike to try to scare Hunter to maybe make a mistake.

09:51Sometimes all you need to do is just show your wheel.

09:56Man, I'm going to tell you right now, if Hunter could get by Ken, he would be gone.
10:01And this is really hurting his chances right now.

10:06He adapted to the line of those tables that Hunter had last time.
10:09You've always mentioned the counter-attack skills of Roxton has paid off a few times.

10:18The longer that Kenny holds Hunter back, all it does is help Cooper Webb and Eli Tomac's chances.

12:07Hunter right back up to Roxen now.
12:10Now, here's what's interesting.
12:11These four, 112 career main event wins between three of them.
12:16Hunter still looking for his first.
12:19Some of the best to ever do at Roxen Webb and Tomac.
12:22But Hunter has proven himself.
12:24Often it has felt like a matter of when, not if, he's going to get that win.
12:28It could be tonight.
12:29Easier said than done for Hunter.
12:32But he has got to get out of his comfort zone and get by Kenny.
12:36If he can do that just for one split second, he'll win this race.
12:42But if he's going to do it, it's got to happen sooner than later.
12:45And, again, he's going to have to get uncomfortable if he wants to make the move anytime soon.

12:54And as Hunter continues to try to figure out how to get the lead, you start thinking about that Arlington
13:01magic for the number one, Cooper Webb, who has been in his position so many times and pulled this one
13:07out.

13:09Hey, Ricky, I was just thinking about what you just said about Hunter needing to get out of his comfort
13:13zone.
13:13A conversation with him earlier, talking about what happened with Ken Rockson and taking them both down there when he
13:19was attempting that pass on him.
13:21He said it's a balance out there when he's racing.
13:24You know, he's asked to have more intensity.
13:26I need to have more intensity in my run.
13:28He's like, and then you do it.
13:29And, obviously, then sometimes these racing incidents happen.
13:31So how tough a balance is that?
13:33The patience, the intensity, knowing when to do it as he attempts it again.
13:37Yeah, I mean, yeah, that's the hardest thing is the balance of knowing when to push him, what you're comfortable
13:43with.
13:44And only he can make that decision.
13:46Again, it's easy for us to say what he needs to do.
13:49It's a lot different when you're that rider on that motorcycle in charge of the throttle.
13:53And I appreciate him.
13:55Listen, he doesn't rarely ride out of his zone.
13:59Got a shot at it here.
14:02Rockson on the outside, over the top of the tables, still holds on.
14:06Not going to be enough.
14:08And, man, this can be so frustrating when you're in this position, Jason.
14:13I'm going to go ahead and tell you right now when you know if you could just get by and

14:19But a guy like Kenny is so good at defending the position and blocking and how fast he is.

16:39It was a struggle in qualifying.
16:41And he comes back and wins the heat.
16:43And he has had to hold off and pass some tough customers.
16:47And he's getting away now.
16:48I mean, here's Webb and Tomac.
16:49They have not been able to do anything with him.
16:51And now they're battling each other.
16:53And Roxen as Hunter pulls away.
16:56Remember, I told you.
16:57It's like, man, if he could get by Kenny, he would be gone.
17:01And look at the gap that he's established in just one lap.

17:15Webb up the inside on Roxen.
17:18I don't think that Cooper is going to wait quite as long to get by Kenny as maybe the 94

17:45And then he takes it Kenny wide.
17:47And that allows Eli to get by him as well.

17:51Eli gets aggressive RC.
17:52And he punts.
17:53Webb off the track.
17:55And Roxen goes by Webb as well.
17:57Yeah, I don't even think that he made contact right there.
18:00And, man, Eli has got the eye of the tiger right now.
18:04And this race is not over.
18:06This is like one of those old races we used to see from Eli Tomac five, six years ago.
18:12And he could make up so much ground.
18:15Three minutes, 30 seconds, plus one lap.
18:18There's the Webb pass.
18:19There's the pass by Cooper Webb by the 94.
18:23And then watch Eli Tomac.
18:24He goes up, crosses the ruts.
18:27Oh, maybe they touch boots.
18:29Puts Cooper Webb off the track into the second position.
18:35That's about as clean as it could be for as aggressive as it was for Tomac.
18:39But it is really her Webb who's been shuffled back to fourth.
18:42And I also want to note, I think the red cross flag was just being pulled in as those three
18:47came over the finish line jump the previous lap.
18:51We're about to look at that one or not as Hunter Lawrence has put two seconds in.
18:57Is there a beast mode charge in route from Tomac?
19:00Or is it tonight the night for the 96th as Webb and Roxson, who battled so many times in this
19:06building, are doing it again?
19:07And Webb invents a new line through the middle to get him.
19:11Yeah, Webb's had enough.
19:13Now look at the ground.
19:14He's got to try to make up on Eli.
19:19I'm going to tell you what, Eli is chewing into that lead that Hunter Lawrence has right now.
19:25Man, he is making up a lot of time.
19:27His last lap, he was a 49.9 to Hunter Lawrence's 51.6.
19:33So Hunter's really going to have to dig deep.
19:36There he is in the rear view.
19:41Two minutes and a lap to go.
19:43Beast mode engaged for Tomac.
19:46Engaged it is.
19:47And this is where you, at this level, these guys are so good at just maintaining the lead.
19:52So I can't say if Hunter's just maintaining this gap right here or if he's giving it his all.

19:59Malcolm Stewart had a great battle going with Sexton the whole race.
20:03He has gone down.
20:04He's still circulating.
20:06Whoa.
20:06Oh, the 96 of Hunter Lawrence getting crossed up on that off-ramp.
20:13Cutting back across the first corner.

20:17A lot of ruts there.
20:18A lot of guys have been getting sideways.
20:20Hey, he stretched it back out on Tomac.
20:22He did.
20:23Only by two-tenths.
20:24But, man, they're going to have about three more laps to go.
20:28If he can keep this gap, Eli makes a little mistake there.
20:31If he can keep this gap at bay for another lap and a half, I think he's got it.
20:37And doing it the hard way, as Hunter Lawrence has always done.
20:42Didn't hold shot to check out.
20:44Had to fend off Webb and Tomac while trying to take the lead from Roxson.
20:53Well, you think about all these second places and just how cool that Honda HRC and the Lawrence camp.
21:01And we talked to Johnny O'Mara.
21:03They knew that eventually a win would come.
21:06Listen, he's got two more laps to go yet.
21:08But eventually, you keep knocking out those seconds.
21:11This day would come and he is in a prime spot.
21:14Again, if he can just hold on, the patience will certainly prevail.
21:21And it's about even on lap times the last two times a round.
21:25Tomac, in fact, lost round in that last sector.
21:28Yeah, well, he lost another three tenths.
21:34So, as long as no lappers play a part here late in this race, it's going to be Hunter's race.
21:44Man, look at those.
21:45See, this is where he made the mistake earlier.
21:47You can see how ruddy it was coming off of that tabletop.
21:50There's the blue flags waving.
21:52And maybe there's a race for the lead, and you are not in it.
21:55It will be white flag next time around.
21:59Hunter Lawrence, points leader already.
22:02So many questions about when will that first win come, although I honestly feel like that was outside noise.
22:07I don't think he was worried.
22:09You ride like this, it's going to happen.
22:11And now he's one lap away.

22:19He got his first win here several years ago.
22:23In the 250s.

22:25And it could be, again, a first for Hunter.
22:28There were a lot of doubts about his Supercross skills when he came over from Australia and then through Europe.
22:34And, man, has this guy worked and worked and worked at it to beat the best in the premier class
22:41of Supercross.
22:42And he's a third of a lap away.
22:45A straight-up win.
22:47There was no gimmies here whatsoever.
22:49He earned this win right here.
22:51One more clean pass through the whoops, and he's got it.
22:55And the crowd salutes it.
22:58Hunter Lawrence's long journey in Supercross now has a win.

23:26You think about this guy contemplating quitting.

23:31Yeah.

23:32You want to talk about resilience, sticking with it, sticking to your roots, what you do, the game plan.
