00:14And you were doing a show here and at the electric factory was known as North 7th at the time. Yeah, yeah
00:20Cheryl brought me backstage and I walked into your dressing room and I kicked over one of your guitars
00:26We had a few words. I handed you some MMR t-shirts. You're like, hey, man
00:31Do you want to get a picture? I'm like sure and then as I went over to grab a picture with you
00:34I kicked over your guitar again, and I kind of fell on you. Do you remember that at all?
00:39No, I don't

00:42It couldn't have been it couldn't have been too damaging because if it had been I would remember but no
00:47I think you're probably exaggerating a little a little bit
00:51But you you couldn't have been cooler about it. But to this day, I'm still mortified over it
00:56So I beat up my guitars way worse than anything you're gonna do just walking into the room

01:05So let's talk guns and roses of course that we've been playing here at MMR the hell out of your recently released single nothing
01:11A song that was conceived during the Chinese democracy era
01:14But reimagined once you and Duff rejoin the band and your solo on nothing
01:20Just brilliantly done that seems like a one-and-done take where there different versions or different lengths of that
01:25I think you know, I mean
01:27I think that was really sort of the spontaneous take
01:31but I did I probably did maybe
01:35At least one or two others, you know when we first started doing it and and
01:41That's the version whatever, you know the third take I'm sure they're all a little bit different
01:46But the you know
01:48The the idea is something that's off the cuff. It's just what the song means to you
01:52Melodically and it just happens. So I'm sure they were all roughly around the same kind of idea
01:58Gotcha along with the release of nothing was the song atlas also a Chinese democracy era tune
02:03Were axles parts that we hear on those finished tracks recorded during the Chinese democracy era as well?
02:10Um, you know, I yeah, I would imagine so but I think he might have redone some stuff
02:16I'm, not really sure because I wasn't there for the session for what is part of the session, but uh
02:22I would imagine the bulk of it was done before
02:25Cool. Is it true that the early version of atlas also featured some guitar work from queen's brian may?
02:31Is that the song I I heard rumors about that, but I didn't um, I didn't know
02:39Which song it was or any of that doesn't I mean?
02:42I didn't sound like brian on there the original, you know, but I just I don't know I I wasn't around
02:49Gotcha and you know, i'm sure you've been asked this question a whole lot especially since 2016 since getting back into the band
02:55And doing the whole reunion tour and whatnot, uh, what's the status or potential of of some new music from you guys?
03:01Yeah, we'll say we have a ton of it, but we have to sit down
03:06And you know put it all together so that that is coming
03:09That's like one of those things where we have to like go
03:12Okay, so we're gonna go and we're gonna listen to all this stuff and then start compiling what's gonna go on the next record
03:18And so we're getting to that point where we're gonna do that, but we I don't know exactly when or where it's gonna happen
03:26It'll just happen
03:27Suddenly for whatever reason and then once that starts then the whole thing i'll sort of take off, you know
03:33Gotcha. Very cool. So of course guns and rose has been on tour with you
03:37Reunited lineup for almost a decade straight now circling the globe many many times at this point
03:42I mean three-hour bangers night after night city after city
03:45Uh closest that you're coming to the philadelphia area. Um, including
03:51You know your 2026 tour, um is hershey park stadium on august 1st also met life stadium on august the 2nd
03:57You guys have some killer openers on this tour including public enemy
04:01For the shows that I just mentioned some other dates have ice cube and black crows and pierce the veil and the barbarians of california
04:08Who from your camp decides these uh these openers? They're super awesome. Uh, we said axel and def and I do it together
04:14We just you know sort of somebody has an idea and we all agree on it and it just goes
04:19And uh, I mean like with the vibe of a public enemy with the vibe of an ice cube who i've seen before live
04:25But it's just like, you know between your audience and say a public enemy audience or an ice cube audience
04:31Do you think it meshes well?
04:33Well, I mean we've played with public enemy before we did some uh a whole leg of a tour with them in uh europe
04:41And so that was that was killer. I mean, it's it's it's a great sort of
04:47Uh crossover kind of a thing and it works really well
04:51And we come we come from the same era and we knew each other back then so it was sort of like
04:57Really fun to go and sort of revisit
04:59You know like sort of an 80s kind of a thing where you have both those bands together
05:04Um, we've never we've never done a gig with ice cube, but I love ice cube
05:08So we'll just see what that's like, but it's interesting because we can take these these artists
05:15And you know and ourselves and put us together and have people from different sides of the fence
05:20I'll come to a show and it's it's a blast
05:22It is a beautiful thing is there an album or albums that you could and would like to see performed in its entirety by guns and roses
05:32Um, I you know, I mean obviously the the the no-brainer would just be to do appetite innocent in it
05:39but I don't know if that's something that's sort of
05:43Uh, I know fans will probably be into it just for the novelty of it
05:46But you know the the idea of doing it something like that's never I'm just saying that to you now because you asked
05:53But I we've never really talked about anything like that
05:56Okay, uh, and with the hershey park shows and of course met life up there in east rutherford any chance of a philadelphia show on this particular tour
06:03This whatever whatever's whatever's on the thing is what we've got
06:07I don't think it's going to change, but it's it's not not entirely impossible, but
06:13You know I I couldn't tell you right now
06:15Okay, cool. I know we have limited time with you and before I let you go, uh like gnr. I'm a massive conspirators fan
06:22And I know album number five is close to being done anything that you could tell us about it's done
06:26We just finished mixing it. Uh, I finished the sequence yesterday
06:31It's a killer record man. We're excited about it
06:33But these come out till the gun store is over so it'll get released in in probably january
06:38Of 2027 and then there'll be the whole
06:42World tour that goes along with that so I had to wait to release it because guns is out from march till through december
06:50Of this year, so putting out in 2027, but it's it's done
06:54And uh, orgy of the damned by the way blues album effing killer man great job on that. Thank you. Thank you
07:01They'll probably be we did a little bit of a tour, you know, like a summer
07:06Festival tour with that and so i'm probably gonna at some point where there's a window i'll do the
07:12I'll do another record and another tour with those guys
