00:06it's meltdown here discussing microphones and microphone sizes with Gene Simmons and
00:10by the way he did this size doesn't count that's right welcome on welcome here to the
00:17latest rockin Bruce congratulations man I have little or nothing to do with it I just work here
00:23and and by the way I get a lot of attention and it's unfair Tony come here Danny Danny here
00:33there you go
00:33why does Tony always say say my name first okay okay so this there we go so this is Danny
00:45not Tony
00:47and we could talk all we want to with blue in the face how we're committed to rock and brews
00:53and
00:54Royal Oaks and the folks are going to be getting their first jobs here and how craft beers or local
01:00breweries by local brew masters and fresh vegetables and fresh meat coming location wise you're not
01:07talking about refrigerator trains where the food lasts for weeks and coming here no because your
01:15first experience comes with the people that go in now this is the best Danny and his brother are the
01:22best things that can happen to this community because they're building a park that's not necessarily a
01:30business it's free to the local community right there they're doing it now because they care about
01:36the community they're hiring local folks it's the best thing and instead of yapping my weight you should
01:42talk you should talk to Danny no no I've already talked to Danny oh that's it yeah were you in
01:47a
01:47band for decades spitting blood sticking the tongue out that no that wasn't you okay all right were you
01:53there 30 years ago June 26 1996 when Kiss put their makeup back on for the first time what were
01:59your
01:59thoughts about that going into it and since then what were your thoughts about that it was good 30
02:04years ago that happened in June yeah don't I look good where's Tony Tony I'm gonna I'm gonna go find
02:12him right away Jay they're a powerful and attractive man thank you sir so what did you think going in
02:18that 30 that that show 30 years ago putting the makeup back out for the first time original members
02:22and what do you think looking back on it some of it was initially like you're you're on your best
02:30behavior when you get back together with your ex and then familiarity breeds contempt I'd like to say
02:38that it was all wonderful and anything but history tends to repeat itself I couldn't wait to restart the
02:46relationship with the two guys that helped us make everything possible but you got to be on top of your
02:51game you can't go out there and be in the Olympics and do the bad stuff because the 50,000
02:58folks who
02:59came to see you at the concert had to work hard for their tickets so this idea that you can
03:04get up
03:04there and not do the best you can and I'm trying to use nice language is unacceptable although it's
03:12great that you guys are all honored at the Kennedy centers yes last year that was awesome how's that
03:16experience well it it was emotionally uplifting you know the American dream and everything and I'm
03:24sweating bullets because you're beside me and you're so handsome and here comes Tony with a fan
03:30but the saddest part was even though ace found out because the white house called he found out about
03:40the awards and he couldn't believe it he was looking forward to it but I got to tell you the
03:45saddest
03:45part is he just didn't make it he passed away before the Kennedy Center on and that's the saddest part
03:52I got a couple of questions from some Detroit right rock icons are you ready first of all kid rock
03:57said
03:57he wanted to say hello he says you're a fan and a friend and you want to say hello Ted
04:03Nugent I had
04:03to write this down because Ted's is a little bit long you know these guys yeah Ted said I have
04:07him tell
04:08you about when he hired me for so many years and so many tours because we share the same belief
04:11in
04:11hard rock and music and the full entertainment showmanship I guess that's its comment actually right
04:16I think it goes deeper that everything we do the music we play the instruments we play everything
04:24was invented here in America it comes originally from black music blues jazz hip-hop rock and roll it
04:31all comes from America and it's something we take for granted the rest of the world name a French rock
04:39band right yeah you can't do it anymore yeah name a famous Japanese rock man go ahead loudness famous
04:47I know I produced I produced easy oh but what's the second song of the first record you have no
04:53idea
04:54with no idea yeah yeah America gave pop culture American pop culture rules the planet so you can't
05:02talk about the music or Royal Oaks or Detroit without talking about America the red white and
05:09blue culture dominates the planet and that means our movies our culture our style because there's
05:16a profound difference between don't blow yourself don't blow me the hell you can move closer all of a
05:26sudden the cool stopped and she's happy good lord you hate me I swear I swear all right Gene one
05:35more
05:35question from anybody okay all right I'm kind of a big deal but now I forgot what I was going
05:41to
05:41talk about well I got one more question from a Detroit rock icon are you ready wow John five wants
05:48to know what is that called when somebody a daisy what is it daisy chain yeah there you go John
05:53five
05:53wants to know your favorite outfit on stage from 1974 through 1983 I like dressing up like him yeah like
05:59John yeah how does he just I don't know if you've been to his museum has he been to mine
06:04I think he
06:05has it's at the Rio Hotel yeah oh I'm sure he has come on now yeah well Gene thanks so
06:10much for your
06:11time I I've actually spoken to John five's cousin John four all right Gene Simmons here rock and
06:21bruise in Detroit Royal Oak with 101 WRF thank you so much you don't have to validate Royal Oaks with
06:27any other city this is as cool as it gets I know Detroit's over there you come to Royal Oaks
06:33and find
06:33out how special this is and as always you can go to rock and bruise.com
06:45may I say just before we begin a lot of people get a lot of credit here but the real
06:51credit goes to these two
06:52young fellows who look like they're so that's right these two guys are not going to brag about it that
07:00they're the best
07:00neighbors you can have in your community because there's a park that's going to be built for you
07:05and your kids and they're reaching into their pockets to make your life better how about that
07:15I want to tell you that Detroit everybody talks about Detroit we own our stuff to Detroit first
07:22city that appreciated the band that I'm in which we're a small
07:38but don't kid yourself this spot Royal Oaks is as cool as it gets you don't need to define yourself
07:46by Detroit when I look outside I don't see graffiti there are no drug addicts running down the street up
07:52down the homeless folks this is a beautiful neighborhood and you should be proud of it
