01:04When we look for this beach house, Renee wants a naked mermaid.
01:09Ever since I was a little girl, my parents used to bring us here.
01:13And my fondest memory is being on a ferry boat and watching the dolphins swim across the channel.
01:21I'm a water baby, so I love being around the water.
01:24Renee and I met through mutual friends.
01:27We went on one date, and I saw this tall, dark, handsome man walk down the sidewalk.
01:32And I gave him a big hug, and he felt so good.
01:36Lo and behold, about 10 months later, he proposed.

01:49Victoria is 11 years old.

01:59Some of the beach activities that the kids like to do are playing football or soccer on the beach,

02:10We have a very hectic, busy lifestyle in San Antonio.
02:14I buy properties, and then I turn around and I rehab them.
02:18I have an auto glass business in San Antonio.
02:21Renee is constantly going, and when it comes time to disconnect, that is when coming to the beach, coming to North Padre Island is so important to us.
02:32And as we cross the causeway, that's when the peace comes.
02:37North Padre Island sits just off the eastern coast of Corpus Christi, Texas.
02:44And with the high humidity there, a 85-degree day can be a real schvitz.
02:51We have worked so hard for so many years trying to make this dream come true.
02:57And we're finally on that path to realizing our dream of beach life.
03:06To find their cheap coastal cottage, these San Antonians are going to need a lively local real estate agent.
03:13Meet Clarissa, the only property dealer daring enough to wear platforms on the beach.

03:22What makes me different from any other agent out here anywhere is that I'm very authentic.

03:37It is hot here, though, but that's what the beach is for.
03:40Corpus Christi is 100 miles of coastline, so you have a little bit of everything down here.

03:48Everyone in your family, no matter if they're this big or this big, they're going to have fun.
03:53It feels like you're kind of in a beach resort, but it still has that Texas vibe to it.
03:58That southern hospitality, but you're on the coast, you're on the water.
04:01The wonderful thing about Corpus is that you've got all price points here.
04:05You're going to have houses in the millions, but if you just move over just a smidge,
04:08you're going to have townhomes, you're going to have condos that could start at the 200s, which is extremely affordable.
04:13You're absolutely getting a million dollar view for a lot less down here.

04:22So let's kind of get into it and talk about exactly what you're looking for.
04:26Minimum three bedrooms, and ideally we would love for everyone to have their own bathroom if possible.
04:33We have a dog, and so we would like to have a yard.
04:37Ideally, we would like to be in the $300,000 or less price range,
04:42but if there is something that meets our family's needs, we would consider going up to about $400,000.

04:54Access to a boat ramp would be nice, a dock for the boat as well maybe,
04:58a hot tub, a swimming pool, anything like that.
05:01So we need outdoor entertaining.

05:04Having to park nearby, that way it's easy to ride a bike to or even a short drive to get to take the kids, the dog.
05:12We would love to be on the water, but we have to have a water view of some way, shape, or form.

05:23The reason I'm taking Rene and Elizabeth to Sunset Harbor is that backyard entertaining that they absolutely love.

17:34modern love the cabinetry the island is very nice but hey that's a lot of steps
17:41that's three flights of stairs just to get to the living room in the kitchen how
17:46are we gonna get all the groceries we have to go everything has to come up
17:50through those stairs overall I mean it will be a good entertaining space once
17:55you get everybody up here
18:03just steps from the waves bargain beach pad pursuers Renee and Elizabeth scaled a
18:10summit of stairs to find a classy kitchen but will the price of this place be too
18:16steep to climb hey so here's the bathroom beautiful granite walk-in shower

18:27problem is we have to share the restroom with everybody on this floor that's a
18:32very good point thankfully you only have to share the bathroom with the people

19:09space it is large I like the man cave on the first floor my big concern is the
19:15kitchen being on the third floor and having to trace up and down all of those
19:19steps with groceries that would be a bit of a challenge four hundred and forty
19:24nine thousand dollars that is pretty pricey but I do like that it is super
19:30close to the beach I think you've got a lot to chew on we certainly do yeah now
19:35it's time for these Texans to lasso in a decision as big as the horizon
19:40chocolate loves the park she's ready to go go look at her tail we have a view of
19:49the water over here guys we can watch the sunset and the seaside sandcastle these
19:57Texas wranglers will rustle up is we ended up choosing the Padre Island escape
20:03house even though it does have the white carpet even though it does have the small
20:10kitchen we chose that because the price point was phenomenal and we loved the
20:16neighborhood we love that it had a water terrace view we love the access to the
20:23city park and the two boat ramps in the neighborhood and so we felt that that was
20:27a compromise that we were willing to work with sunset Harbor our patio was very
20:32small and it had no water view and we didn't end up choosing the village by the
20:38beach because of all of the flights of stairs it just wasn't going to work for
20:43our family I think I'm most excited about this new house is this the beach
20:50nearby we can't wiggle our toes in our front yard or our backyard but just a
20:56short walk away and it's there they wanted 250 and we offered 240 cash and they
21:03we accepted our offer we finally have our beach house my mom and my dad used to
21:10bring me here as a little girl and now I'm able to bring them here and share the
21:16home with us and bring that memory full circle today Renee and Elizabeth learned you
21:24don't need deep pockets to saddle up to stunning shorelines just your loved ones and a
21:31horizon to call your own
