00:02:3811 a.m. could you send all of the candidates in please
00:03:08good morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome to my boardroom now it's a special occasion this
00:03:18it's the 20th year since our own mr. Campbell here was the first winner of The Apprentice it never made me
00:03:28any money but now a lot of changed in the past 20 years I mean there's been financial crashes and
00:03:38pandemics not to mention Liz Truss but there's been two constant positives one is this process and the
00:03:48other is Arsenal never won the league now 20 years ago there was a statement that I made I don't like
00:04:01liars I don't like cheats I don't like bullshit is and I don't like schmoozes still remains the same
00:04:09other than that I'm quite a nice bloke right now just because we've been doing this for a while it
00:04:17doesn't mean you know what's coming next let me tell you you don't
00:04:23yes or sugar yeah you got I think two other people waiting out there that is correct good bring them
00:04:36in thank you so 20 of you now right little extra competition just got tougher yeah but eventually
00:04:56after 12 weeks one of you is going to get 250,000 pounds investment and my 60 years of business
00:05:06experience and I have done everything I've sat on a production line I've packed boxes I've delivered
00:05:14out of my van I've negotiated with banks and that is something that money can't buy right well I'm going
00:05:23to look at your CVs now Levi where are you now your business at the moment is bespoke pet cremation
00:05:34urns is that right that's correct low sugar yeah pet in a pot one of your claims to fame you you was a
00:05:44bodyguard for Boris Johnson is that right yeah when I'm in the what was you doing protecting him from his
00:05:49wives when I'm in the armed forces I got hadn't picked so you've been in the army that's correct
00:05:56law sugar did seven years good good now Georgina hello Georgina so I'm currently an events manager
00:06:03but I trained in musical theatre so I'm a quadruple threat so I sing dance act and I do business and I
00:06:11would love for you and I to open up a production company specializing in pantomime why can't it be
00:06:16sunshine and rainbows well it can be if your business deals in solar energy I suppose yeah
00:06:23good all right Priya oh hello sugar you are an accounts manager at Pricewaterhouse is that right
00:06:31yeah correct and I also have my own cocktail bar business cocktails yeah and you're an accounts
00:06:36manager yeah exactly it's a creative and financial what's one of your one of your drinks is tax on the
00:06:41beach now then Daniel or Dan Dan's great thanks what is your business yeah so I set the company up
00:06:52when I was 17 didn't really want to go to uni and I felt there was a big gap in the market to help
00:06:56students find apprenticeships once you make your first million which is what I did at 25 it becomes
00:07:05easier to make your next that you've made a million have you that turned over a million yeah turned
00:07:11over yeah oh right you do know that turnover is slightly different to actually making the money
00:07:17yeah I see uh Andrea hello Lord sugar now you're a letting agent is that right that's right it's my
00:07:24own company I manage 250 properties across the South Yorkshire region and then this is an unusual thing
00:07:30you got a degree in midwifery is that right registered midwife and I delivered my grandson
00:07:36let's hope you deliver on these tasks then shall we yeah okay right enough chit chat it's time to get
00:07:47down to business I'm kicking things off by sending you to one of the world's most vibrant trading hubs Hong
00:07:56Kong now Hong Kong I've been there at least 40 times my business was started from Hong Kong and so
00:08:13for this task you have to go and find nine items now I'm keeping things simple the teams will be boys
00:08:23versus girls the team that spends the least amount of money to secure the nine items wins and on the
00:08:31losing team at least one of you will be fired so good luck to you all and I'll see you in a few days time
00:08:40off you go thank you thank you so much Hong Kong starting point for both teams Kowloon on the mainland
00:08:52before them a city scattered over more than 200 islands where modern finance meets ancient tradition
00:09:04how's everyone feeling good excited first thing to pin down so who wants to put themselves forward for
00:09:12project I'll put myself forward so we've got Kieran a project manager I'm an estate agent so you know
00:09:18I deal with people buying all the time so I deal with a lot of international investors on a weekly
00:09:23basis so I just feel like I'm probably best suited I don't mind putting myself forward I don't have
00:09:27been much experience in selling I can read a map I'm confident I know what I'm doing let's get it
00:09:35done everyone we hand up for Kieran as PM yeah okay yeah really nice there's huge pressure if we fail
00:09:43I feel like it's all on me and I could be going home on the first week which wasn't the plan right
00:09:47but they've got the best man for the job we're gonna get the win upstairs do you know what I would
00:09:54actually really love to put myself forward for project manager if anybody agrees with me auditioning
00:09:58for the role of leader I feel like I've got the skills to keep everybody motivated on task feeling
00:10:03positive trained actress Georgie so yeah if everybody feels confident what about your geography skills
00:10:09the main thing that we need to do today is work together because none of us are in competition right
00:10:15now but I don't know my way around no does anyone else want to put themselves forward I want to put
00:10:20myself forward also I'm in sales I'm good at negotiating so I think I can lead this into a
00:10:24win fantastic all in favor of Nikki put your hands up so I guess that's settled I would love to I am
00:10:35sub team leader today I'm delighted to be in charge of a group of people and I'm just grateful that I've
00:10:40been given that trust and that commitment from the group at this stage both teams have maps local
00:10:47directories and a list of nine items shrimp paste spec 10 times 300 gram brick we'll get that that's
00:10:56happened at the fish market including a mahjong set hand-painted it's like tiny little blocks like
00:11:03dominoes oh yes it looks just like dominoes yeah and baby corn specification for catty picked today
00:11:09baby corn there's agriculture in the north of the mainland yeah if you want to pick today that's where the
00:11:14farms are next we have Chinese calligraphy brush it's for Chinese writing it's yeah calligraphy
00:11:20is yeah I'm trying to like dragon boat head guys I know exactly what this is I've done dragon boat
00:11:25racing before they've made out of wood they stay basically stick on the very front of the boat
00:11:29next a golden pineapple spec paper you know you got a lot of like Chinese lanterns and stuff made out of
00:11:35paper maybe something yeah yeah I'm feeling quite confident I think the only one that we really don't
00:11:41know is the uh-huh apart from that we've got quite a good uh-huh golden pineapple golden pineapple um
00:11:50that could be anywhere do we know what a ding ding illustration actually is um no the next item is
00:12:03error erhu e r h u but that one let's just ask the locals we will find out yeah next on the list tea
00:12:13cake that is labeled 2005 okay a traditional way of packaging tea leaves any idea 2005 we've been
00:12:21finished food we have no idea we just gonna have to ask yeah okay we've got the new territories at the
00:12:29top that's the agriculture the baby corn could just be started off there absolutely list locked down the
00:12:35boys lay out their plan I was thinking someone starts at the top someone starts at the bottom we
00:12:40can then meet in the middle I think we're going too specific into guys let's see what else is in these
00:12:43areas I was I was still speaking but um I think if we focus on just Hong Kong Island okay to confirm
00:12:49please area we're currently in Kowloon what I would suggest is go now to Northern Territories to a farm
00:12:56somewhere do our picking and then head back to Kowloon the other team takes Hong Kong Island and then
00:13:01make their way over to Lantau agreed yeah yeah yeah can I just clarify as well no one go below 30%
00:13:08off the market price yeah as your first of also get creative get creative that's how I said I know
00:13:13I'm saying also oh sorry also get creative I think Kieran has very strong opinions and thoughts but
00:13:21sometimes they lack a bit of substance and I think I was just there to fill in the blanks to guide him
00:13:25to his vision Levi has been in Asia negotiating before with his company so I feel like he would
00:13:31be a good stop team leader I'll get a will yeah yeah that's it I've got three team members with me
00:13:37so far I've got Andrea Roxy and Carrington next for project manager Nikki Vanessa and
00:13:42decide who goes where is it equals for little people sorry oh because I didn't count yeah no
00:13:49that's fine I just think this is getting really messy let's just stick down the middle okay you guys on
00:13:54this side going to Stanley we on this side going to Central that's making it really really really
00:13:58simple Nikki do you think we should start splitting the items so shrimp paste we've got
00:14:04I think we'll take it on then yeah I'll know we'll take the baby we'll take in the pond yeah
00:14:08it's just that the central have dried which we take the shrimp paste in rather than I think we
00:14:23should just swap I think you guys should go to central so we'll do Stanley you guys do central
00:14:28okay for any swaps yeah it seems to be an awful lot of confusion amongst this team already there's
00:14:37no real consideration being given to all the variety of information that Lord Sugar's provided
00:14:41for them they had maps they had brochures but they haven't considered any of that they're just going
00:14:45on gut feel and hoping for the best that's not a strategy so lads in terms of travel those
00:14:50going to the Hong Kong Island we'll be taking the ferry then he's taking Trump most of the way
00:14:55please and where are we in the big brother be on time I do not like people who are like I think
00:15:00we should start making way to the Lantern Island at four o'clock okay yeah I think we've got this in
00:15:04the bag ladies yeah 10 30 a.m we're getting the star we're gonna go to the port please driver to
00:15:16the port sir teams have eight hours to find their items we are beautiful powerful passionate women
00:15:22we've got this we're gonna smash it Carrington you're on maps and you're happy with that yeah and buy them
00:15:27for the best possible price I'm really struggling to even find where we are on this map to where we
00:15:32need to be Nicky juggling the geography it's so difficult because everyone knows where we are I'm
00:15:37gonna keep an eye out and see Nicky's girls oh look Aberdeen it says Aberdeen straight ahead and
00:15:45that's the job that is the shrimp paste is in Aberdeen yes you got our Aberdeen are you alright yeah
00:15:50yeah yeah that's fine could we go to Aberdeen please okay I can't even find Aberdeen on the map can
00:15:55anyone see where I know can everyone find Aberdeen on the map let's see if we get some farms in the
00:16:02New Territories towards the north if we're going all the way up to the top of New Territories like
00:16:06it could be pretty far while Levi's lads change course on corn I think chin off going off to New
00:16:12Territories but to Kowloon it's got markets and that there fresh off the ferry in search of Stanley
00:16:19okay so should we find an information center here how about a bus terminus oh guys the rest of
00:16:25the boys hi uh we are trying to find the best way to get to Stanley in our big busters we have a
00:16:31route in Stanley how long does it take the tour is around two hours is there a quicker way maybe
00:16:38tries the tram that we could well there's no Trump to go there really Stanley is the south side of Hong
00:16:46yeah I put the file so far down to Marcus it was his idea to get the ferry here and get a tram we're
00:16:53here there is a tram but not to where we need to go so it's a complete waste of our time I'm then
00:16:58gonna get in the car we're gonna go to Stanley Street anyone's got any objections please shout now we're
00:17:05going to stand let's go thank you have a nice day let's go let's go let's go let's go we'll get to the
00:17:12market then we can ask questions market charging a course to their first item I feel like this is a
00:17:18great place to start do you have a thing measure yes in the bag Georgie's half of the girls head to a
00:17:24party supply store hello could you tell me where you've seen a dragon boat head on their wish list
00:17:31a wooden carving found on the front of boats check again we want a gamble Chinese second ball yeah
00:17:39please be a meter can I have someone that's good at maps over here it needs a bit oh if we take the
00:17:50stick out I don't believe this is the right thing because I think it's actually a meter of the head
00:17:54itself yeah so I'm really sorry we won't be able to take this you don't need this one no sorry it's not
00:18:03what we're looking for head one meter yeah oh you want stick a very big one yeah so sorry guys we need
00:18:16to be uber specific when we ask about things let's move on okay let's go to that market such a waste of
00:18:23time on the other half of the team hey let's just look out for signs yeah try and locate where we
00:18:32are sniffing out shrimp paste but then we just need to go ask you to ask me to figure out and then we
00:18:38can make a plan driver can you stop when it's safe to do so project manager Nikki let's just ask
00:18:45someone anyone how far is Aberdeen hello hi excuse me do you speak English no no okay anyone on the road
00:18:55anyone on the road should we just ask hiya do you speak English no no hi do you speak English oh this
00:19:03is security on the security man should we just go yeah sorry do you speak English do you speak English
00:19:08English no excuse me sorry guys should we go down to the shops do you speak English do you speak English
00:19:15no honestly I don't think any of us are good with geography no one seems to know much about where they
00:19:21are where they're going and how to read a map which is crucial in this task so we need to be able to
00:19:26know where we are can I just say let's head back to the car let's just regroup and let's find the
00:19:30figure out next steps there you're right with that yeah okay for lunch time oh look there's an
00:19:38arts and crafts shop here right there great spot hunting down their first item do you have a Chinese
00:19:45calligraphy brush yes but the 20 centimeter brush Levi's half of the boys to be at their take measure
00:19:52yeah I've got to make sure that's the size no hopes of the brush rubbed out next on the list a golden
00:20:00pineapple golden pineapple a traditional sculpture burned at religious festivals okay there's no
00:20:13pineapple on that does that mean doesn't mean the color so which is the gold back paper spec okay
00:20:19this is golden pineapple paper okay we can take this downstairs and because yeah okay that's one
00:20:27bit us golden pineapple we all assumed origami this is 45 Hong Kong dollars what is the best price you
00:20:34can maybe do what if we okay 43 yeah 35 dollars no I'll buy you present next time I'm sorry okay 38 and
00:20:43then we can have a deal okay 38 what day thank you thank you thank you thank you okay the really good
00:20:51thing for tan is he did a great negotiation but the bad news is is he bought the wrong product she told
00:20:57him it was golden pineapple paper well it might be but it's certainly not the golden pineapple he should
00:21:03be looking for great work time I think yeah you couldn't knock anything more off that I think and
00:21:07we've got our first product yeah we got one tick-tock yeah do you have Emma John sat hand painted while Nikki's
00:21:18team finally locked down a lead how far are you from Aberdeen okay at Central District Food Market we're
00:21:27looking for fresh baby corn for cutties still on the hunt for their first item guys guys I think the
00:21:34other team are ringing Georgie's half the girls hello how are you getting on so we're just about to pick up
00:21:41the baby corn we haven't picked up we haven't got anything yet not yet don't worry we're all in the
00:21:52the same boat it's been a really difficult day but we're gonna pull this bag gosh where about are you
00:21:57so we found the Mahjong is near you guys we've phoned ahead brilliant okay so what we're gonna do now
00:22:08we're gonna try for baby corn then we're gonna go to this toy shop I can't believe that we both don't
00:22:15have anything yet we're all in the same boat so all we've got to do is really try and pull together now
00:22:20let's go let's do this 1 30 p.m so we're looking to find dragon boat heads over a meter on route to
00:22:32the coast do you think it might be a good chance in Stanley because they do the racing there that's
00:22:36right that's what I was thinking Kieran's boys fish for answers do you know where we can get like an
00:22:43uh-huh what what is it exactly six miles away in Aberdeen I'm just seeing that there's a place
00:22:55where they teach English do you want to ask them where we can get the should I still in search of
00:23:01shrimp paste okay are we ready let's go okay go property expert Andrea seeks out grade A Intel
00:23:08hello hello so we're actually looking for some shrimp paste do you know of any markets that we could get
00:23:15some shrimp paste from yeah there's wet markets okay okay you walk outside there along the harbour yeah
00:23:22uh there is a small boat okay which is take you like a two minutes ride to the opposite side and then
00:23:28there's a public market there there's place that you're able to buy this from that's absolutely
00:23:32fantastic thank you bye that was really helpful guys amazing she said two minutes on the boat
00:23:40for the rest of the girls in Central it needs to be freshly picked today if not we cannot buy
00:23:50okay let's go let's go let's go please my bad corn canned a new plan but I have absolutely no luck
00:23:56getting warning for I think it's best that we actually go to the earth and get the game yeah absolutely
00:24:00we need to be as quick as we can now let's go finally washing up on the coast come on Stanley where the
00:24:07magic happens boys this might happen we are getting everything here for Kieran's team a chance to
00:24:14check in who's speaking Oli Kieran mate how are you getting on we're yet to find an item but we're
00:24:21just going down what the earth who is oh yeah write it down write it down it's a two string instrument
00:24:28perfect we're going to hand that over to you because I think it's unlikely that we're going to find it
00:24:32here we're going to focus on the shrimp paste and the dragon's head how are you doing on your other
00:24:36items we've only found the golden pineapple paper guys let's keep the head up let's keep going we're
00:24:41going to go to the beach and we'll see you shortly okay good work but I'm quite happy with that
00:24:48because we've got something difficult they've got no eyes yeah but at least we do we know what
00:24:53on earth who is see how Connor just took over the phone I bet Connor was like give me the phone
00:24:57let me chat back in Aberdeen come on ladies searching for a water taxi to reach the wet market she said we
00:25:08need to take a boat yeah straight up straight up Nikki's girls are all at sea is it a bow straight free
00:25:17last guys I don't know keep going there are dogs everywhere guys where the hell are we going I don't
00:25:28know guys I'm scared I don't deal well with dogs I don't either we think it's too likely
00:25:34okay we have to go back now there's no entry we need to go back it's really stressful at the moment
00:25:44that we've got no items and time is really ticking on it's going to take us a long time to get to the
00:25:48meeting point as well and it's just really stressful at the moment we've just wasted so much time on this
00:25:53shrimp can we ask this guy no don't even bother in Stanley some tactics here guys I don't find out
00:26:04how much he would usually sell them for a kind of working down from there aiming to net a dragon
00:26:09boathead how are you it's good yes okay oh yes good salesman Rajan turns on the charm how much would
00:26:17you normally sell one of these for about 4,000 something like that 4,000 wow yeah yeah you have
00:26:23a very beautiful store here yeah yeah what would be the best price you could do on this
00:26:28are they handmade by yourself very very good quality what would be the best price should be
00:26:38able to do this for us 2,500 in my pocket right now this is all I have this is 2,300 can we make
00:26:49a deal I think we done really really well as a negotiation I mean it all depends on the
00:27:02chemistry you build with the individual and the kind of like relationship this the smooth talking
00:27:07is this one meter a little bit more oh that's perfect that's fine so yeah it worked out pretty
00:27:12well good job guys one down a few more to go we wasted so much time on this shrimp pace what time
00:27:20is it now after after four hours searching for shrimp paste we've got to leave at four so we've got an
00:27:26hour and a half but half hour it's gonna take us to get to Stanley from here Nikki's girls wash up at
00:27:31the wet market are we here excuse me it's closed already close yeah already closed up is there any
00:27:40way that we can get shrimp at all from you today shrimp paste I don't think so there is no chance we're
00:27:46really desperate you know anywhere else that will sell shrimp paste at this time to give it up
00:27:54I think I'm absolutely gutted we didn't get the fish paste gutted I think there's no clear
00:28:11direction and that's where we're going wrong so we're heading to Stanley without a shop we not know
00:28:16where we're going in Stanley guys it is 25 to 4 we need to leave at 4
00:28:20I hope we're going the right way oh I hope so too in Central I haven't ran like this ever
00:28:30hunting for the handed over ma-jong set I hope that's the right way or I'm gonna actually cry
00:28:37real human shit for Georgie's girls look look look look Cochrane here Linus Aberdeen right a puzzle
00:28:46it's called global ma-jong it's four oh five p.m. boy five that's number five so maybe we're at the
00:28:55wrong bloody end look how far the atmosphere is that's five that's 21 what number's up there 14 a
00:29:07call the shop call the shop call the shop and ask them what is near when we can start gauging please
00:29:19let's just call the shop oh my god this is crazy it's absolutely chaotic right now you know we're
00:29:27running about the whole of Hong Kong and it's just crazy and I feel like Georgie hasn't been able to give
00:29:34us much direction with where we're supposed to be going just be quicker by then we're outside
00:29:40Windelust currently on Aberdeen Street and we're just trying to find you are we going up the hill my

00:36:33Searching for the dragon on foot.
00:36:35But is it not left? There's a road here.
00:36:37I don't think that's it.
00:36:39Nikki's hopes go up in smoke.
00:36:42If it's a boat, please, do you not think it's going to be more?
00:36:44I don't think we're going to get anywhere on foot.
00:36:47We might as well get in the taxi.
00:36:48We've been sent in there.
00:36:49Yeah, I know.
00:36:50We might not be there.
00:36:51We just sent in there.
00:36:52Let's try and find where the taxi is, because where the taxi is,
00:36:54that's where that'll be.
00:36:55The taxi driver said it was over the tree,
00:36:57and we're over the tree, but we're on the wrong side.
00:37:00So I think...
00:37:01Let's run and go right.
00:37:02Okay, let's go.
00:37:04Okay, so once we get to the cable cars,
00:37:08we'll get on the cable cars, then go to the big footer.
00:37:11One hour till teams must stop shopping.
00:37:14Yeah, if you do end up late, Kieran is going to have a go at us.
00:37:17Yeah.
00:37:18Because that's what he said.
00:37:19The one thing I don't want you guys to be is late.
00:37:21For being late, or having incorrect or missing items...
00:37:25Where is the driver?
00:37:26We don't know.
00:37:27The driver is at the boathouse, wherever the boathouse is.
00:37:30A fine.
00:37:31All the way down.
00:37:32It's all the way down.

00:38:17Okay, okay.
00:38:18Yay!
00:38:19Finish line, the big Buddha.
00:38:22Do you know how long it will take, roughly?
00:38:24One hour, 30 minutes?
00:38:26Wow.
00:38:27On Lantau Island.
00:38:29We've got to run the town.

00:39:59Well done.
00:40:01Oh, no, don't cry.
00:40:02She made me cry, please.
00:40:03Ladies.
00:40:04Yeah?
00:40:05Would you come over here, please?
00:40:07We'd like to see you tomorrow at cloud 39 in the Henderson Building on Hong Kong Island.
00:40:14Be there at 10 o'clock sharp.
00:40:16Okay?
00:40:17Okay.
00:40:18Yes.
00:40:19Yes.
00:40:21What do we think's gonna happen tomorrow?
00:40:22Oh, gosh.
00:40:23That doesn't sound too good.
00:40:25That doesn't sound too good.
00:40:26Right it's not too good.
00:40:55I
00:41:00Can't believe they're not here girl. Where are they?
00:41:038 p.m
00:41:04My honest Brady's gone home Tim's gone home the boys have gone home. How long are we gonna stand here?
00:41:09It's it's way past the deadline
00:41:14Come ladies, they better be running up those stairs. Keep going girls
00:41:19Have they just stood there looking at us? All of them. I just want to know what happened. Yeah
00:41:24Me too. Like what went so so wrong?
00:41:29They've got a lot to answer for
00:41:35What happened girls? Yeah, what happened? Honestly, it's just been manic. What what happened with that? We lost our driver
00:41:54Oh
00:42:09You can go through now
00:42:11Oh
00:42:25I can't believe that
00:42:27Well, you didn't expect me to send you out here
00:42:44to the greatest negotiating commercial centre in the world
00:42:48without me being here, did you?
00:42:50Come on, let's be fair, right?
00:42:57Let me start with the boys.
00:43:00Kieran, I believe that you were the project manager.
00:43:03I was indeed, myself and Levi put our names forward.
00:43:06I suppose being an estate agent,
00:43:09part of this task is all about location, location, location, right?
00:43:18Yeah?
00:43:19Anyway, you kicked off at 9.30 in the morning approximately, right?
00:43:23From what I've understood from Baroness Brady,
00:43:27I don't think you bought your first item till about 3pm, is that right?
00:43:32Correct.
00:43:33Come on, what were you doing for six hours?
00:43:36What the issue was, we got the ferry over to the centre
00:43:39and then realised when we got there
00:43:42that we can actually get to Stanley from there.
00:43:45Headless chickens?
00:43:47Yeah.
00:43:47Anyway, Ranjan, you got the dragon boat head, right?
00:43:51That's correct, law sugar, yeah.
00:43:52Started off at 4,000 Hong Kong dollars
00:43:55and you ended up getting it for 2,300.
00:43:59That's correct, yeah.
00:44:00So my initial strategy was to make a bit of small talk with him,
00:44:04get him a bit more comfortable with me.
00:44:06Fortunately, that strategy paid off
00:44:08and yeah, I ended up getting 42% off his original asking price.
00:44:12Now, the sub-team leader, Levi...
00:44:17That's me, law sugar.
00:44:18Yeah.
00:44:19We were looking to go to the new territories to get the baby corn.
00:44:22And then upon looking how far it is,
00:44:25we chinned that area off and then proceeded to another area
00:44:27and that's where we stumbled across the golden pineapple piece of paper, yeah.
00:44:32They must have seen you coming.
00:44:34This mug come from England, right?
00:44:38I'll show you what you should have got.
00:44:40Aww.
00:44:41That's what you should have got.
00:44:43That's what I wanted you to go and get.
00:44:45There's hundreds of them in the street here.
00:44:47You must really walk past them 20 times
00:44:50and you end up buying a load of bloody paper.
00:44:55Yeah, that's correct, law sugar.
00:44:57Chinese year of the prat, that's what you might be.
00:44:59Anyway, so who bought the uh-who?
00:45:05I did.
00:45:05And did you stand around for half an hour afterwards
00:45:08listening to the bloke playing it?
00:45:10Because we didn't want to be disrespectful,
00:45:12so we just thought...
00:45:13They were just showing us the wonderful instruments,
00:45:14so I just thought she was like, why don't we play it?
00:45:17Why don't you bought it? Why don't you just go?
00:45:19Waste of time.
00:45:20Complete and utter waste of time.
00:45:22Anyway, Kieran, you've got two items.
00:45:25Your sub-team only got one item out of nine.
00:45:29You've messed it up.
00:45:32Completely messed it up.
00:45:38Ladies, this lot have made a mess
00:45:41and from what I can understand, so have you.
00:45:45Nikki, you were the PM, is that right?
00:45:48Yes, Lord Sugar.
00:45:48I'm a good, strong negotiator,
00:45:50so I felt like I was the best fit for this task.
00:45:52Yeah, well, before you get to negotiate with somebody,
00:45:55you've got to get to a vendor
00:45:57that is actually selling one of the items that you require.
00:46:02Yes, Lord Sugar.
00:46:02And you didn't find them.
00:46:04No, Lord Sugar.
00:46:05You never found the bloody items, did you?
00:46:07No.
00:46:07I don't know what else I could do.
00:46:10It's just so frustrating.
00:46:12I gave you maps, brochures and all that stuff.
00:46:15According to Tim, in the brainstorm,
00:46:18you didn't make reference to them at all.
00:46:20Lord Sugar, I think the main issue here was,
00:46:22in our team, we were obsessed with finding the shrimp paste
00:46:24and I think a lot of time got wasted there.
00:46:26We got a bit lost, we wanted a bit of a detour
00:46:28and again, that wasted some time.
00:46:31Yeah.
00:46:31When you finally got to a place that sold shrimp paste,
00:46:35it was closed, wasn't it?
00:46:36It was, I'm sorry, it was.
00:46:38May I speak? Would that be okay?
00:46:40Yeah, you can speak, yeah.
00:46:41So, on the sub team,
00:46:43we did, at the very beginning,
00:46:44come across this lovely lady
00:46:45and she bought out what she thought was this dragon boat head
00:46:48but then we realised pretty quickly
00:46:50it wasn't the right product
00:46:51and we did have numerous opportunities
00:46:52so if we had a bit more time,
00:46:54that would have been our next point of thought.
00:46:55Bit more time?
00:46:56I know, I know, it was a struggle.
00:46:58Can I add, Lord Sugar,
00:46:59and we found a shop in Central.
00:47:01The shop had mahjong.
00:47:03We weren't in Central at that time
00:47:04but we knew that the sub team were
00:47:06so we let them know.
00:47:07Karishma, you bought the mahjong.
00:47:09Oh, she was great, I have to say.
00:47:10So, I know that in this specific market
00:47:13they're very used to being aggressively negotiated with.
00:47:17When people are buying on a regular basis
00:47:19and they're buying in quantity
00:47:21then you want to have a relationship
00:47:22but otherwise it's not relevant.
00:47:24You bought one, right?
00:47:25Yeah, she did.
00:47:26The starting price was 1482 Hong Kong dollars
00:47:30and in the end you got it for 700.
00:47:33I did, yeah.
00:47:33Right, why don't you just say that then?
00:47:35Oh, I wanted to tell you the story.
00:47:37It's a really good story.
00:47:38It's a good story.
00:47:38Can we tell you?
00:47:40No, I don't want to hear any more about this
00:47:42because this is not a joke.
00:47:43Of course.
00:47:44But Lord Sugar, might I just add that
00:47:46at the start of the day
00:47:47Nikki didn't make a point
00:47:48that we had to be back at the Buddha
00:47:50and not to be late.
00:47:51By the time we got back
00:47:52it was daylight
00:47:53and when they reached it was dark.
00:47:54We were very late
00:47:55but we made an executive decision
00:47:57we were guaranteed to get the dragon's head
00:47:59so it was either a fine for being late
00:48:01or a fine for not getting the item.
00:48:04I would just like to add one thing
00:48:05I think we did well on the sub team
00:48:06was we all really worked together.
00:48:08Yeah.
00:48:08I feel like everybody had a fair shot
00:48:10at giving things a try.
00:48:11But Georgina, you didn't get any items.
00:48:12You worked together.
00:48:13We got the one and we got one.
00:48:13Busy fools.
00:48:14Sound like a bunch of busy fools.
00:48:18It's very disheartening for me.
00:48:20This is the 20th year
00:48:23and so much work
00:48:25has gone into the preparation
00:48:28of sending you all
00:48:30to this commercial metropolis.
00:48:33Best one in the world.
00:48:35But nevertheless
00:48:36we're going to read out
00:48:37how much you spent.
00:48:40It's not so much how much you spent
00:48:42but more likely
00:48:43how much you got fined.
00:48:45So Karen,
00:48:47let's start with the boys.
00:48:48They managed to get
00:48:51three correct items
00:48:53which cost them
00:48:543,195 Hong Kong dollars
00:48:57and they also spent
00:48:5938 Hong Kong dollars
00:49:00on the incorrect item
00:49:02which was the golden pineapple
00:49:04that gave them
00:49:06a total spend
00:49:07of 3,233 Hong Kong dollars
00:49:11including transport.
00:49:12But there was of course
00:49:13five items
00:49:14they didn't secure
00:49:15as well as
00:49:17the incorrect item
00:49:19which incurs a fine
00:49:20and half the team were late.
00:49:22So that means
00:49:23a total fines on them
00:49:24of 4,040 Hong Kong dollars
00:49:27which gives them
00:49:29total spend
00:49:30of 7,273.
00:49:32Well a total joke
00:49:34a complete
00:49:35and utter joke.
00:49:39Tim, same thing.
00:49:41Well the ladies
00:49:42they only bought
00:49:43two items
00:49:44so that gave them
00:49:45a total spend
00:49:45of
00:49:463,200 Hong Kong dollars.
00:49:49But as they didn't buy
00:49:50seven of the items
00:49:51and
00:49:52half of the team
00:49:53were almost
00:49:54two hours late
00:49:55you imposed fines
00:49:57of them
00:49:57totaling
00:49:587,000 Hong Kong dollars
00:50:01giving them
00:50:02a total spend
00:50:03of 10,200.
00:50:04Yes!
00:50:07What are you
00:50:08celebrating for?
00:50:11I mean technically
00:50:13yes you've won
00:50:14but I'll call this
00:50:16a win
00:50:16quite frankly
00:50:18it's a bloody
00:50:18disgrace.
00:50:20Honestly
00:50:20a total disgrace.
00:50:24Off you go.
00:50:38As bad as that lot are
00:50:40ladies
00:50:40you are
00:50:41worse.
00:50:44So I need you
00:50:45to go away
00:50:46talk amongst yourselves
00:50:48and we're going to
00:50:49come back in here again
00:50:50and I'm going to
00:50:51decide
00:50:52which
00:50:53of you
00:50:54are going to
00:50:55leave the process.
00:50:56Off you go.
00:50:57Thank you
00:50:57Lord Sugar.
00:50:59Thank you for having
00:50:59this pretty.
00:51:00Thank you Tim.
00:51:03Two items
00:51:04out of nine
00:51:05is unbelievable.
00:51:07I just don't get it.
00:51:08I mean
00:51:09and you gave them maps
00:51:11you gave them a directory
00:51:12you gave them a car
00:51:13you gave them a description
00:51:14a specification
00:51:15I mean
00:51:16I'm not quite sure
00:51:17what more you could have done.
00:51:18Unbelievable.
00:51:19Unbelievable.
00:51:21Right girls
00:51:21what happened?
00:51:22What went wrong?
00:51:23It was from the start.
00:51:24What went wrong
00:51:24happened right from the start.
00:51:26We needed structure
00:51:26we needed to know
00:51:27where we were
00:51:28where we were going to go
00:51:29there was no structure
00:51:30no one was aware
00:51:31of what we were doing.
00:51:33I don't feel like
00:51:34the failure lands with me
00:51:35I think the fault lies
00:51:36with the sub team
00:51:37they spent a lot of time
00:51:38running around
00:51:39you know
00:51:40they could have bought more
00:51:40and ultimately
00:51:41we could have won this task.
00:51:42The item that you got
00:51:43we phoned
00:51:44and we managed to get that
00:51:45I don't know
00:51:46to be honest
00:51:47it's not rocket science
00:51:48to phone you.
00:51:49We didn't make sure
00:51:50that item that you got.
00:51:50Yeah you called up the store
00:51:52and you made sure
00:51:52that it was there.
00:51:53We negotiated it
00:51:54and we sold it.
00:51:54But if we didn't get that product
00:51:56would you have had zero items then?
00:51:58No.
00:51:59I don't believe that
00:51:59I'm to blame
00:52:00for the failure of this task
00:52:01I feel like I kept
00:52:02everybody's morale high
00:52:03I kept the positivity going
00:52:04and there was not a chance
00:52:05that we were not going to make it
00:52:07to Big Budap on time.
00:52:08You guys were so late
00:52:09you were two hours late girls.
00:52:11It was that
00:52:11we're not getting the item.
00:52:12You said
00:52:13make sure you're there on time.
00:52:14If you as a team leader
00:52:15cannot even follow
00:52:16your overall set
00:52:17the failure of this task
00:52:19belongs to the PM
00:52:20the structure
00:52:21was not there from the start
00:52:23if one thing fails at the start
00:52:24just forget the whole plan
00:52:25the whole thing fails.
00:52:34would you send the candidates
00:52:38in please?
00:52:53A whole day
00:52:54a whole working day
00:52:57and each team
00:52:59came in with one item each.
00:53:05I think where it went wrong
00:53:07is we were lost
00:53:09at the beginning
00:53:10and we found ourselves
00:53:11in Aberdeen
00:53:11and we knew that
00:53:12the shrimp paste was there
00:53:13so because we was already there
00:53:14we thought we would
00:53:15get the shrimp paste
00:53:16and it continued.
00:53:17But you didn't get that though.
00:53:18We spent too long there
00:53:19that was the problem
00:53:20we spent too long
00:53:21we didn't know
00:53:21where we were going.
00:53:22Can I just say something?
00:53:24Nobody was reading
00:53:25where we needed to be
00:53:26looking at the maps
00:53:27seeing where we needed to go.
00:53:28But I said that
00:53:29right at the very beginning.
00:53:31We didn't.
00:53:32Nobody used it.
00:53:34Can I also just add
00:53:36to that at the brief
00:53:37Nicky said
00:53:38whatever happens
00:53:39just make sure
00:53:40you leave at four
00:53:41to just make their
00:53:42Buddha temple on time
00:53:43so that's what
00:53:44the sub team did.
00:53:46You got there two hours later?
00:53:48Yeah.
00:53:49So what happened
00:53:50to your leave at four?
00:53:52We had lost the driver
00:53:53so at this point
00:53:54we was already late
00:53:55so it was either
00:53:55Lost the driver?
00:53:57Yeah.
00:53:57I don't think that was the reason.
00:53:59Well we was already late
00:54:00so I made the executive decision
00:54:02to be late with no product
00:54:03or be late with a product.
00:54:06And that's the situation
00:54:06we were in
00:54:07we had one product
00:54:08we could have gone
00:54:08and definitely got
00:54:09a second product
00:54:10but we chose
00:54:11to leave on time.
00:54:12How late was your lot
00:54:13turning up?
00:54:14We weren't late at time.
00:54:15We raced up the stairs
00:54:16alongside the boys
00:54:16and we got there on time.
00:54:17And that's why Georgie's
00:54:18decided that we should
00:54:19leave at four
00:54:20because that was the rules
00:54:20of the PM.
00:54:21All the calls
00:54:22that you guys
00:54:22were making all day
00:54:23not once did you say
00:54:24get all items
00:54:25and forget about
00:54:25being on time.
00:54:26You got the item
00:54:27at six.
00:54:27I think the problem
00:54:28is that we didn't sit
00:54:30and like strategise
00:54:31each step of the way.
00:54:33It was just a lot
00:54:33of voices
00:54:34we kind of went running.
00:54:35Clearly no strategy
00:54:36you know.
00:54:37I don't think
00:54:38you could find
00:54:39a sofa in DFS.
00:54:42Honestly
00:54:42I mean
00:54:43it's ridiculous
00:54:44what has gone on here.
00:54:45Towards the end
00:54:46of the day
00:54:46I think we got
00:54:47a lot better
00:54:47with the maps
00:54:48and locations
00:54:49and we knew
00:54:49where we were
00:54:50we were warming up
00:54:51and I know
00:54:51that isn't good enough.
00:54:53Not good enough
00:54:54is an understatement.
00:54:56I mean
00:54:56the point is
00:54:57is that you
00:54:58only got one item.
00:55:00I know
00:55:00it's embarrassing.
00:55:03Look
00:55:03I'm going to bring
00:55:04this thing
00:55:05to an end
00:55:06now.
00:55:08Georgina
00:55:08I'm going to ask you
00:55:10to bring back
00:55:10two people
00:55:11from your sub team
00:55:13and
00:55:15Nikki I'm going to ask you
00:55:16to bring
00:55:17two people back
00:55:18from your team.
00:55:19Can I just say
00:55:20this pains me
00:55:21to do this
00:55:21as I really don't
00:55:22believe that
00:55:22our team's responsible
00:55:23just first and foremost
00:55:25but thank you.
00:55:26Whether it pains you
00:55:27to do it or not.
00:55:28I just wanted you to do it.
00:55:29Yeah.
00:55:31Absolutely nothing
00:55:31personal ladies
00:55:32but I would like
00:55:33to bring back
00:55:33Roxanne and Carrington
00:55:36please.
00:55:37And I'm really sorry.
00:55:38Roxanne and Carrington
00:55:39right.
00:55:40Georgie
00:55:40if it wasn't for me
00:55:41you wouldn't know
00:55:41how to nag and forget
00:55:42your way around
00:55:42I've got
00:55:43I'm so sorry
00:55:44I have a reason
00:55:45and I'm so sorry.
00:55:46And who are you
00:55:47going to bring back?
00:55:49I'm going to bring
00:55:50back Andrea
00:55:51and Rothner.
00:55:52I don't know
00:55:53why you do that.
00:55:55I literally felt
00:55:56like I was leading
00:55:56half the time
00:55:57asking you
00:55:57are you sure
00:55:58you want to go here
00:55:58you want to go there
00:55:59but fine
00:55:59we can speak about it
00:56:00later.
00:56:01I can tell
00:56:01I can tell
00:56:02that's okay.
00:56:03Okay.
00:56:04The rest of you
00:56:05you can
00:56:06you can leave.
00:56:10Thanks guys.
00:56:12Good luck.
00:56:14I'm sorry sorry.
00:56:19I'm going to have
00:56:20a discussion with
00:56:21Baroness Brady
00:56:22and Tim
00:56:24and in the meantime
00:56:25you have to step outside
00:56:28and I'll call you back in shortly.
00:56:30Okay?
00:56:31Thank you very much buddy.
00:56:33Thank you Tim.
00:56:38Well
00:56:39a bit unusual
00:56:40of nine items
00:56:41the sub team
00:56:43and the main team
00:56:44they've only got
00:56:45one item each
00:56:46so that's why
00:56:47I decided
00:56:47that the project manager
00:56:50should bring back
00:56:51two people
00:56:52and the sub team leader
00:56:54should bring back
00:56:54two people.
00:56:55that's where we are.
00:56:57Watching the candidates
00:56:58on the task
00:56:58Roxanne was the one
00:57:00I saw do least
00:57:01throughout the whole
00:57:02of the endeavour
00:57:03from Carrington as well
00:57:04she was responsible
00:57:05for the match
00:57:05but several times
00:57:06the team said
00:57:07that they were lost
00:57:07if she was responsible
00:57:09for it she didn't do
00:57:09a very good job.
00:57:10Karen?
00:57:11Obviously I didn't
00:57:11follow the ladies
00:57:12but I have to say
00:57:13Andrea and Rothner
00:57:14have been ever so quiet
00:57:15haven't got a sense
00:57:17of who they are
00:57:17or what they did
00:57:18at all.
00:57:19Nikki.
00:57:20Every member of this team
00:57:21is saying that there
00:57:22wasn't a clear strategy
00:57:23and as project manager
00:57:24that is really
00:57:25Nikki's responsibility
00:57:25to set.
00:57:27I worry for Georgina
00:57:28in this process
00:57:29when you asked her
00:57:31to bring back
00:57:32two people
00:57:33she started to get
00:57:34very upset.
00:57:36This is a tough process
00:57:37it only gets tougher
00:57:39and maybe this process
00:57:41isn't for her.
00:57:42Hmm.
00:57:45Yes Lord Sugar.
00:57:46Could you send me
00:57:47candidates in please?
00:58:00Nikki.
00:58:01Why are you bringing
00:58:02these two people back?
00:58:05So Lord Sugar
00:58:05I brought back Rothner
00:58:06because she saw
00:58:07the teacher in Aberdeen
00:58:09she mentioned
00:58:10to get out of the car
00:58:11and ask her
00:58:12so we wasted
00:58:12a lot of time
00:58:13speaking to this lady.
00:58:14It was up to you
00:58:15as project manager
00:58:16whether you wanted
00:58:16to get out of the car
00:58:17and ask them
00:58:17you decided to do that.
00:58:19We didn't even sit
00:58:20to strategise Lord Sugar
00:58:21even after the English Centre
00:58:22we're running off
00:58:23in another direction
00:58:23you're not sitting
00:58:24the team
00:58:25gathering us together
00:58:26and being like
00:58:27guys what should we do
00:58:28what's our next step?
00:58:29So are you saying
00:58:31that she's responsible
00:58:32for the failure
00:58:32of this task?
00:58:33Yeah 100%
00:58:34I didn't feel supported
00:58:35I didn't feel like
00:58:35I was directed.
00:58:36Okay same question
00:58:38to you Nikki
00:58:39concerning Andrea here.
00:58:42I brought Andrea back
00:58:43just because
00:58:43I felt like
00:58:44there wasn't
00:58:44a lot of direction
00:58:45more noise
00:58:46just from her
00:58:47to be honest
00:58:47so I don't feel
00:58:49like she contributed
00:58:50a lot towards this task.
00:58:51I was put on the sub team
00:58:53I was changed
00:58:54at the last minute
00:58:55and you said
00:58:56I'm just going to go
00:58:56straight down the middle.
00:58:57It wasn't a change.
00:58:58Can I say my opinion please?
00:58:59Sorry.
00:59:00Okay so when
00:59:01I didn't get time
00:59:02to write down
00:59:03the new items
00:59:03I didn't have them listed
00:59:05you didn't listen to us
00:59:06we tried to communicate
00:59:08you totally left us out.
00:59:10Okay Georgina
00:59:11same thing.
00:59:13So regarding Carrington
00:59:14I am genuinely
00:59:15really sorry
00:59:16that you're here
00:59:16the only reason
00:59:18that I chose
00:59:18to bring her back
00:59:19was because
00:59:20I gave you
00:59:21the responsibility
00:59:21of the maps
00:59:22but in your defence
00:59:23I feel like
00:59:24the only reason
00:59:25you didn't know
00:59:25where we were
00:59:26was because
00:59:27at the very beginning
00:59:27of the day
00:59:28we didn't open
00:59:29the map
00:59:29in the briefing.
00:59:30And what's the reason
00:59:32for Roxanne being here?
00:59:34Again I'm so sorry
00:59:35you're here
00:59:35out of the five of us
00:59:36I just felt you
00:59:37were the quietest
00:59:38and that is all.
00:59:39I disagree on that point
00:59:40I feel like
00:59:41I was never given
00:59:41that opportunity.
00:59:43Did I not ask you?
00:59:44Sorry.
00:59:45If you can just
00:59:46at me first please.
00:59:46Of course yeah
00:59:47I'm sorry.
00:59:48So I just felt like
00:59:49I was just kept
00:59:50in the shadows
00:59:51the whole time
00:59:52within the team
00:59:53so I don't deserve
00:59:54to be here.
00:59:54No I don't think
00:59:55either of you do
00:59:55I would prefer
00:59:56to be here on my own.
00:59:58So if she
00:59:59they don't deserve
01:00:00to be here
01:00:01who does deserve
01:00:01to be here?
01:00:02I feel like
01:00:03Nikki deserves
01:00:04to be here
01:00:04and I can't
01:00:05obviously no one's
01:00:06going to take blame
01:00:06and everyone's
01:00:07going to take
01:00:07the easy option
01:00:08by blaming
01:00:09the project manager
01:00:09but I did turn
01:00:10things around
01:00:11I made the executive
01:00:12decision like
01:00:12let's go after
01:00:13the dragon head
01:00:14I'm the one
01:00:14who phoned the sub team
01:00:15and told them
01:00:16about the mahjong
01:00:16and I didn't carry on.
01:00:17You didn't turn things
01:00:18around though
01:00:18because you were
01:00:19two hours late
01:00:19you made the decision
01:00:20to be two hours late
01:00:21you made it so
01:00:22we didn't make a decision
01:00:23to be two hours late
01:00:24this is a simple task
01:00:26and you completely
01:00:28and utterly
01:00:29messed up
01:00:30so I'm going to
01:00:32I'm going to
01:00:33summarise
01:00:33and I don't want
01:00:34to hear any more
01:00:35from anybody
01:00:36Andrea
01:00:38I find your explanation
01:00:43rather difficult
01:00:44to comprehend
01:00:45and similarly
01:00:47Roxanne
01:00:50I'm kind of wondering
01:00:52exactly
01:00:53what you've done
01:00:56Nikki
01:01:01yes
01:01:04you put yourself
01:01:05forward as the
01:01:05project manager
01:01:06very brave
01:01:07but
01:01:08you was
01:01:11two hours late
01:01:12and
01:01:13you only got
01:01:14one item
01:01:15and you were
01:01:16the overall
01:01:17project manager
01:01:18no you can't
01:01:21and so
01:01:23it is
01:01:23with regret
01:01:24that
01:01:25you're fired
01:01:26thank you
01:01:27Lord Sugar
01:01:28I'm afraid
01:01:28you're here
01:01:29Georgina
01:01:40I think
01:01:44you're your own
01:01:44worst enemy
01:01:45you come in here
01:01:48you
01:01:50bring two people in
01:01:52and you say
01:01:52they shouldn't be here
01:01:53and so
01:01:55you leave me
01:01:56nowhere to go
01:01:57so
01:01:59Georgina
01:02:00regretfully
01:02:01you're fired
01:02:02thank you Lord Sugar
01:02:03thank you very much
01:02:05thank you Tim
01:02:05now
01:02:14you have
01:02:15four ladies
01:02:16I'd just like you
01:02:18to collect your thoughts
01:02:19and realize
01:02:20and realize how serious
01:02:21this process is
01:02:23okay
01:02:24off you go
01:02:24thank you Lord Sugar
01:02:25thank you Lord Sugar
01:02:26if I put myself forward
01:02:34to be project manager
01:02:34because that's just the type of person I am
01:02:36I always go for the challenge
01:02:37and I'm always wise to it
01:02:38but it just didn't work out
01:02:39on this occasion
01:02:40I feel really disappointed
01:02:42I feel like I've gone too soon
01:02:44and I just wish that I'd have that opportunity
01:02:46to go further
01:02:48and show him what I'm made of
01:02:49what happened in the boardroom
01:02:52so Lord Sugar was not happy
01:02:54he asked the project manager
01:02:56to bring two people back
01:02:58and he also asked the sub team
01:03:00to bring two people back as well
01:03:02do you think it's going to be a double
01:03:04at least
01:03:04I think it's going to be a double
01:03:06girl so only four of you come back
01:03:19until the firing
01:03:20yeah
01:03:20it was insane
01:03:21who went first
01:03:23Nikki went first
01:03:24he was like
01:03:25you're fired
01:03:26she left
01:03:27so how come Georgie went
01:03:28and then Lord Sugar was like
01:03:29so Georgie why are we here
01:03:31because she essentially said that
01:03:32she didn't need to bring us back
01:03:34and she was kind of
01:03:35her hand was full basically
01:03:36it was a mess
01:03:37you don't know how serious this is
01:03:39until you're sat in front of Lord Sugar
01:03:40fighting for your life
01:03:41now 18 candidates remain
01:03:47the search for Lord Sugar's
01:03:50next business partner
01:03:51has begun
01:03:53next time
01:03:55I want you to create a story
01:03:57for four to six year olds
01:03:59novel narrations
01:04:01duh duh
01:04:02plot twists
01:04:04we're not going to get this book
01:04:06finished
01:04:06and in the boardroom
01:04:08the book itself
01:04:10was rubbish
01:04:11a thriller
01:04:12well that's very unusual
01:04:14it's ridiculous
01:04:15if you think
01:04:44you've got what it takes
01:04:45to become Lord Sugar's
01:04:46next business partner
