00:06I will be reviewing the movie Burning Sands on Netflix while washing my hair.
00:10It's all about the brotherhood.

00:58So let's get started.
00:59So let me start by saying, I'm not Greek.
01:01There's these black dudes, right?
01:03And they wanna be in the fraternity.
01:06So bad.
01:07I'm just gonna section my hair so it makes it easier to apply and detangle.
01:11Shout out to Javonte Rose, cause he's in this movie and he's also a fellow Longhorn.
01:15And he looks good in this movie, my god.
01:18Okay, so let's not pretend that, you know, wanting to be in a fraternity is all like fun
01:24and games.
01:25While I'm doing this my hair might get dry so I'm just going to spritz it a little bit.
01:28But yeah, there's all this hazing that goes on in fraternities and people don't talk about
01:34it, you know?
01:35People need to talk about it.
01:36Ooh, this feels good.
01:37There are these five aspirants.
01:38The main character, his name is Zeke.
01:40The movie goes from Monday through Hell Night.
01:43Hell Night's supposed to be the worst night and that's the night that if you like prove yourself,
01:47you kind of cross or whatever.
01:48They are getting beat up basically and yelled at and talk to you like they're crazy and
01:52they're just taking it cause I really want to be in this fraternity so bad.
01:55That looks good, right?
01:57Zeke, the main character, has to do pushups.
02:01I think I'm remembering this right.
02:03So the guy, his big brother, I think they call him, kicked him in the ribs and like fractured
02:09his ribs.
02:10But again, this guy wants his so bad, like he's trying so hard.
02:13His relationships are strained by wanting to be, wanting to cross the burning sands.
02:18There's a lot of like hyper-masculinity in this movie.
02:20A lot of shirts off, which I didn't mind all the shirts off, you know, like nice chesticles
02:25were there.
02:26Alright, so now I'm gonna put this plastic cap over my head and let this deconditioner sit
02:31in my hair for a little bit.
02:33Again, get you one of these, it's the greatest brush there is.
02:37I've said that in the last video, I'll say that in the next, I'll be back.
02:41At this point, they've been hazed for about a week.
02:45His ribs are cracked, his girlfriend's broken up with him, he's been taking wood, and you
02:51know, he's sick and tired.
02:52Zeke, the main character, is like, I'm gonna take this to the Dean of Students.
02:56The Dean of Students is also frat, and he's the shadiest dean of all shady deans in shady
03:01dean kingdom.
03:02So, he goes to the dean, and he's like, hey man, you know, I don't know if you know
03:06this, but like, stuff is going down, and it's not good, like, and he's like, yo, uh, what's
03:12one more night of torture?
03:13I'm just gonna put in this leave-in conditioner.
03:16It looks a little thicker, even though I thought I should have vlogged.
03:19Yeah, this is a little, this is more like a creamy leave-in.
03:21I didn't expect, here's what we'll do.
03:24We'll take this part out too.
03:25Oh, it's hell night.
03:27They show up, and there's all these other dudes from the fraternity.
03:32Like, it's like, a bunch of dudes in there, and they're all just yelling at him, and screaming,
03:39and going crazy.
03:40A whole movie, you've been seeing this guy with, like, rib issues, like, oh, his ribs
03:44fractured.
03:45He might not make it.
03:46My hair looks great.
03:47Wouldn't you agree?
03:49It looks wonderful.
03:51And in a surprising plot twist, the most shocking plot twist of all, one of the guys, not Zeke,
03:58starts seizing.
04:00They're like, what are we gonna do?
04:01I don't know.
04:02Turn over.
04:03Wake up.
04:04Oh my god.
04:05Meanwhile, the dude's foaming at the mouth on a freaking, I don't know, barnyard floor.
04:07That's what it looks like.
04:08Okay.
04:09So, um, they drop his body off at the hospital.
04:11He's basically dead.
04:12Um, and his friends are like, we could go back, or we could stay here.
04:15And Zeke's like, we need to stay.
04:16We can't leave this guy.
04:17This is so sad.
04:18He died.
04:19I'm only gonna use as much of this cream gel, because I don't think I need it.
04:21I feel like this leave-in conditioner is kind of also a styler.
04:23So I'm just gonna like, run it through my hair, and just like, scrunch.
04:27The dude died, and Zeke calls his dead.
04:30And that is the end of the movie.
04:32Now that is the cheapest ending of a movie that I've ever seen.
04:35There's no sign that his friend was gonna die.
04:38Then he dies.
04:39And then, I don't know, his one moment of empathy is, I guess I'll stay.
04:43And not like, go back and get hay so I can cross Lambda Lambda Phi.
04:47I don't know.
04:48Overall, I think they had really attractive black men in the movie.
04:51They were very attractive.
04:53There's probably two redeeming women, female characters.
04:56Out of five stars, I would probably give it three stars.
05:01The movie was great.
05:02The ending just sucked.
05:03It didn't seem like it fit at all.
