00:00This book is loaded with the dish, including details of Donald and Melania's
00:05bedroom habits. Don't change the channel.
00:07On Thursday, the late-night host poked fun at Michael Wolff's Donald Trump
00:10White House tell-all in light of the response from the West Wing that the
00:13president does not want the book to publish. Fire and Fury, inside the Trump
00:17White House, which includes many unflattering revelations about the
00:20president and his administration, was originally scheduled to publish on
00:24January 9th, but due to unprecedented demand, was moved up to Friday.
00:28In addition, early excerpts were released by New York Magazine and GQ, and
00:32Wolff wrote a column about his year inside the White House for the
00:35Hollywood Reporter. The author is also a columnist for THR.
00:38On ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host said he found the administration's legal
00:41threats a little strange.
00:43This is what I would ask Donald Trump, Kimmel announced.
00:45If you don't want people to read a book about you, why would you take legal
00:48action to try to stop people from reading the book about you? I wasn't
00:52going to buy the book.
00:53But now that Trump's lawyers are going all out to try to stop it from being
00:56published. I'm buying 20 copies. I can't buy enough of these books.
01:00Kimmel emphasized that threatening legal action was the dumbest move the
01:03president could have made, unless it's all part of a brilliant master plan.
01:08Or more likely, he's just dumb, and everyone around him is dumb.
01:11On Comedy Central's Daily Show, host Trevor Noah joked that the book sounds like
01:14the real Housewives of Pennsylvania Avenue. After playing a montage of news
01:18clips providing details and quotes from the book, Noah came to this conclusion.
01:22Wow. Trump's own people think that he's dumb as a watermelon. I guess the
01:28country isn't as divided as it seems.
01:30The host added, however, that the tidbits from the book have helped the
01:33country discover little details that help us understand President Trump a
01:37little bit more, including the fact that he reportedly frequently ate at
01:40McDonald's for fear of being poisoned.
01:43Let me get this straight. Trump only trusts food if the people who made it had
01:47no idea it was for him. That's why he goes to McDonald's.
01:51Things got a little racy over at CBS's The Late Show, with host Stephen Colbert
01:54saying in his opening monologue,
01:56It turns out that the president and the first lady have separate bedrooms, the
01:59first first couple to do so since John and Jackie Kennedy.
02:02Meaning Donald Trump has had just as much sex as JFK has had in the past year.
02:08But if you're concerned that the president might have a mistress, don't
02:11worry, Colbert said, before quoting one of the revelations in the book, which
02:15claims that if Trump did not have one of his regular dinners with Steve Bannon, he
02:19was instead in bed by 6.30 p.m. with a cheeseburger.
02:22I'm gonna hope eating it.
02:26What did you think of the late night host's reactions to fire and fury and
02:29Trump's objections to it? Let us know in the comments.
02:32For The Hollywood Reporter News, I'm Lindsay Rodriguez.
