00:00So this is the light developer. Right off the bat I like that it has its own base so it's able to
00:04stand up on its own so when it's off the bench I don't have to find out how to make it stand up
00:09it's just there already. I've had light developers that I have to put them up against the wall shove
00:13them in a corner and it just makes it difficult for them to stand up without tipping over. So this
00:18is a big plus where it has a tone base has wheels at the front so I can simply lift the back and
00:23then it's going to move forward back and forth easily. This is actually surprisingly very light
00:28however it can support a lot of weight and it feels very sturdy. The padding itself it uses the
00:34same round padding five inch diameter as the ab attachment. It's very comfortable very thick
00:40and it uses that grippy vinyl that the bench has as well. Now this the pads right here for the thighs
00:46these are actually flat these are supposed to distribute the weight better evenly and prevent
00:52any pinching but on on the leg side you have the leg rollers here that are round the shin rollers
00:57are also round and these by the way are adjustable you can adjust the length this way horizontally and
01:02this one vertically up and down so people of different heights can use it which is a big plus.
01:07Now one thing I did notice though is that the knob caps here the knob caps for adjusting the length of
01:13this these are hard plastic I'd like it better if they were aluminum just because aluminum is going
01:19to last longer but these are very hard I don't think they'll break but aluminum will be a better
01:24option in my opinion. I'm looking down here you have the weight horn the weight horn is set for two inch
01:30diameter for Olympic weight plates but it is detachable you can attach it at the front there's
01:35a little bolt you just unscrew it take this off and if you're somebody that uses standard weight plates
01:40with a one inch diameter then you have the option to use those with this leg developer but it does have
01:46this cap here for the Olympic weight plates that are more common in the USA.
01:49Now if I keep going down here right down here I already attached the cable attachment this is
01:55something that's optional it's not very expensive to add on but it's something that's optional if you
02:00have a cable machine it doesn't matter if you have a functional trainer a cable tower DIY pulley system
02:06a digital cable machine it doesn't matter as long as you have a carabiner you can attach
02:10a cable to the bottom here this is the cable here it's 64 inches in length and the advantage of having
02:17a cable is that you're going to get constant resistance because the way these work because
02:21they're lever based when you get to the top of the exercise when you lift this up
02:26you're going to lose some of that weight at the top of the exercise so it's not a lot of the weight
02:33that you're going to lose but with a cable machine a cable attachment you're getting constant tension
02:38so if you're somebody that has that option where you have a cable machine then you might want to make
02:43the jump the leap and just pick this up because it's not very expensive to add on connecting the
02:48leg developer to the bench is very simple you lift this up to 15 degrees of incline then you lift up
02:53the leg developer insert it into the port make sure you pull the pop pin out and then it'll pop in place
02:59and then you want to make sure the knob is twisted and that's pretty much all that's all there's to it
03:04if you're just going to use this as a plate loaded leg developer now if you bought the optional
03:09cable attachment then you want to use this bolt here to make sure that you secure the leg developer
03:15to the bench so i'm going to show you that right now so if you got the cable attachment you want
03:19to make sure you use this bolt here you're going to find it in the package it's going to be extra
03:23and that is going to go through here and connect to the leg developer over here to prevent it
03:28from moving if you go too heavy on cable exercises because the cable is coming from this direction so
03:34it's going to be pulling in a horizontal fashion so that is what this is for so you want to insert
03:40it through the frame here and then you pull back a little bit until the leg developer touches the bolt
03:46and that's all there's to it it's connected so if you picked up the cable attachment this is what
03:50you're going to get you're going to get this piece right here that connects to the vertical post of
03:54the leg developer and then this one over here this pulley that connects to the base of the leg
03:59developer and of course you're going to get the cable that comes with it so i'm going to show you
04:03how to install it so you just slide that under the pulley bring it up to the front and then you
04:07have this pin here and then you just insert the pin through the end of the cable right there and
04:16that's pretty much that's all there's to it now i'm going to run the cable to my cable machine all
04:21right so i have the cable connected to my cable machine it's running from the upright to the leg
04:27developer but one thing you want to make sure is that you push the bench back so that the cable is
04:31taut that'll give you the most tension right from the first rep and also as an fyi you want to make
04:37sure you have 10 feet of space at least because you're going to need room for the bench and then
04:42the extra cable length so make sure you have 10 feet of space at the very least so the first thing i do
04:48before i start working out is i make sure that the cable is taut now this one here even though it's
04:52straight it feels loose so i'm going to push the bench back and cut the slack here make it tight
04:58there you go that's better and that way i'm going to make sure that from the first rep i'm going to
05:03have tension right from the beginning of the exercise so i'm going to show you the leg extensions
05:08first
05:09now right when i sit down this feels comfortable the flat pads right on my hamstrings and then from here
05:17you can see that my shins are going back that's very important the shin angle is very important
05:22because there's leg developers out there that don't do a good job and then you start with your shin
05:27in a vertical position and that takes off all the tension from the beginning of the rep so you
05:33want to make sure you have a leg developer like this one here they did a good job where the shin
05:38angle is going backwards because that's already putting my quads into a stretch if you notice it's
05:43angled 15 degrees so i can recline a little bit that's going to open up my hips that's going to create
05:48more of a more of a stretch right before i even start the first rep and then from here i can hang
05:53onto the handles and do my reps now because i'm using the cable machine here the cable attachment
06:01i'm getting constant tension even at the top there's tension and with a plate loaded leg developer
06:07you still get a lot of tension but because this uses a lever you're not going to have the same
06:14amount of weight the exact amount of weight from the bottom to the top and that's just physics i mean
06:18there's nothing really that you can do about it unless you start introducing a cam or a cable
06:23attachment to the leg developer but for the cable attachments this feels really good
06:28i'm able to get full tension there's no jerkiness at all so that means that the cable down here
06:36is traveling well on the pulley so i'll give it a thumbs up great job on the cable attachment i'm
06:43going to show you a plate loaded leg curl and i want you to notice this arm here this was designed
06:47very well when i go up on the leg curl you're going to notice that the weight plates stay at an angle
06:51like this not vertically if they were to go vertically i would lose a lot of tension so they
06:56stay like this so that gravity continues to pull the weight down and that continues to create tension
07:02in my hamstrings and again this is adjustable you can move this up and down if you have long legs
07:06feel free to do so that has six different settings i'm going to get on here
07:11and i have handles here that i can support myself with and from here i already feel a little bit of
07:20a pre-stretch on my hamstrings and then once i curl up you're going to notice that the weight stays at
07:26an angle which is exactly what you want so i feel pretty good tension throughout
07:31the pads here the flat pads feel comfortable on my thighs
07:38and i feel that i can hang on to the handles here and almost pull myself
07:44gives me more stability so overall i feel this is this is a really good leg developer
07:53i showed you the cable version gives you constant tension if you have a cable machine that might be
07:58something you want to like look into but if you don't the plate loaded version still gives you
08:02full range of motion you get a good pre-stretch at the beginning and then at the top you have
08:07that continuous tension because of the angle of this arm so very good that's my review on the freak
