Transcript
00:00All right, we've got to rapid fire this one because we've got about seven minutes to do it.
00:03Our final circle of swarm of the season.
00:06What we're looking for is players, right, who are looking to swarm.
00:10The swarm mindset, that whole mentality.
00:12We want players to have a special work ethic and a relentless mindset in everything that they do.
00:17Who's in?
00:18This is a special group of men. Believe it.
00:20It's the Payne and Pendergast Texans Circle of Swarm.
00:25All right, Seth, let's do this.
00:26It's a real quick explanation for those who don't know.
00:29Seth and I, every week, pick a six-person circle of swarm.
00:32We each pick three.
00:33The swarmiest Texans.
00:34This one will be entirely based on the New England game with maybe a little bit of a tiebreaker for the entirety of the season, I guess, maybe?
00:41Oh, I was leaning more towards the entirety of the season.
00:44Oh, see, I was going to use the scoreboard as the season.
00:46Okay, all right, let's use it.
00:47Okay, we'll make it more heavily based on the Patriots, I guess.
00:51I'm going to give a boost for the season performance.
00:54That's fine.
00:54So this isn't the 2025 season.
00:58Yeah.
00:58Or 2025 season.
01:00This is the...
01:01This is on last week.
01:03Correct.
01:03Yep.
01:03All right.
01:04Then that's an easy one.
01:05Will Anderson, the number one selection.
01:08Yeah, Will Anderson.
01:08Will Anderson, who had three sacks in the game, if I'm not mistaken.
01:15And I'll just put Daniil Hunter in right now.
01:17He had two sacks in the game, including they both forced a fumble in the game.
01:21Daniil Hunter had the forced fumble deep in Patriot territory, which the Patriots jumped on.
01:26Will Anderson had the forced fumble.
01:29Or did he have a forced fumble in that game?
01:30Yeah, I think he did.
01:31Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:32So he had one.
01:33There was one other who...
01:34Oh, I remember who had the other one.
01:35Okay.
01:36But you're up right now, so I don't want to say the name.
01:38Okay.
01:39Then I would go with...
01:41And again, I'm trying to...
01:42I got to recalibrate for just this game itself.
01:46Yeah.
01:47Sorry about that.
01:48No, that's all right.
01:49That's all right.
01:50I'm going to go with...
01:50Well, that's an easy one, though, anyway.
01:52Honestly, lo and behold, I think the guys that really showed up in the biggest game of
01:57the year are also guys that would be on my regular season.
02:01Yeah.
02:01Circles of Storm, Tommy Togiai.
02:03Tommy Togiai was the one who...
02:04With a forced fumble in that game.
02:05He forced the other fumble.
02:06Yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:07I wanted to leave that one for you.
02:07The guys that did the most to counteract the devastating play of C.J. Stroud and his
02:13turnovers are the guys on defense that they themselves created turnovers.
02:17That's exactly right.
02:18And along those lines, I am going to put next in the final circle of Swarm, Aziz Al-Shair,
02:25who fell on both of those fumbles.
02:27Ah, good call.
02:28They were recovered by the Texans.
02:29Yeah.
02:30And led the team in tackles as well.
02:33And I'll give you another one, Sean.
02:35A guy that you knew in these last two weeks in the playoffs, it was very clear that for
02:43the Steelers and the Patriots thought, all right, we got to figure out a way to target
02:46Henry Toa Toa.
02:47We got to figure out a way to take advantage of Henry Toa Toa.
02:51And Henry Toa Toa showed up.
02:53Yeah, so Henry Toa Toa, circle of Swarm.
02:57I like that one.
02:58Toa Toa.
02:58Okay, so, so far, we've got five.
03:00Showed up in a good way.
03:01In a good way.
03:02Yeah, no, we've got five defensive players.
03:04We've got Will Anderson Jr.
03:06We've got Daniil Hunter, Tommy Togiai, Aziz Al-Shair, and Henry Toa Toa.
03:12And, you know, I only bring up PFF scores when I feel like they match the eyeball test.
03:16But just to wit, the guy with the best coverage score on PFF for the Texans on that day was
03:22Henry Toa Toa.
03:23Was he really?
03:24Yeah, yeah.
03:25Boy, that's a huge improvement.
03:26I'm happy for him, man.
03:27That, you know, Toa Toa becomes an interesting conversation.
03:31He, like CJ and Will, just finished up his third season.
03:36And I'm not saying Toa Toa should get Roquan Smith money or something like that.
03:40Yeah.
03:41But Jalen Petrie wasn't an elite safety when he got his deal, and it was after his third season.
03:45I sense that Toa Toa is a guy they want to keep in the building at the right price.
03:50And I do wonder if he's a guy who would get a contract after.
03:55Not a big, not a, you know, a cap-plus thing contract.
03:58He's in that sweet spot where I think, you know, he plays a position that doesn't command
04:02huge money unless you're truly elite.
04:05And he's also, he's kind of on the rise right now.
04:08He doesn't have an established body of work that they might get him at a contract that you
04:12feel very good about.
04:13Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
04:14Uh, is it your turn or my turn?
04:16It's my, no, you did your three.
04:18Oh!
04:19Yep, you did your three.
04:19You better not screw this up.
04:20No, I won't screw this, screw this at all.
04:23And I'm actually, um, I'm just, I'm, I'm simultaneously getting the final score put together here
04:29to reveal to the audience.
04:31So I'm, you know, moving guys up the ranks here.
04:33My last one is not a defensive player.
04:35Oh.
04:35Nor an offensive player.
04:37Ooh.
04:37Jaime Fairburn.
04:39Jaime Fairburn kicked three field goals in the snow, including a 51-yarder.
04:42All right.
04:44Who am I leaving out?
04:45Kamari Lasseter.
04:47Played well in that game.
04:48Yeah.
04:48He was good.
04:49He played really well.
04:50Yeah.
04:51He's not one of the guys that was responsible for a touchdown.
04:53Kaylin Bullock was responsible for a touchdown.
04:55Uh, Jalen Reed was responsible for a touchdown.
04:58Derek Singler was responsible for a touchdown.
05:00I, I, I, I totally get it.
05:02I totally get it.
05:03Yeah.
05:03Jaime Fairburn kicking outdoors had been a major concern for this team.
05:07And since kind of, he's been here and he had a really good game in Pittsburgh and he
05:12had a really good game in new England.
05:14And I can't remember any other than the, other than the kick at the end of the Steeler
05:19game where he just booted a line drive below the crossbar.
05:22I attribute that to the turf in Pittsburgh more than I do.
05:24Kay me.
05:25I'm putting, uh, the whole, it's really hard for me.
05:27And maybe this is just my old school D baggery.
05:30Uh, the, the special work ethic and relentless mindset, the things, uh, the very acronym, the
05:35swarm is, it's just hard for me to put it, to give it to a kicker.
05:39I give him credit for being solid, steady.
05:41I don't know where the relentless, uh, part comes in with kickers, but okay.
05:45Uh, he kicked 44 field goals.
05:47That's a special kind of relentlessness.
05:49Yeah.
05:49So, okay, good.
05:50Yeah.
05:50He's relentless.
05:51He's relentless and kicking all 44 of those.
05:53Um, you want the final tally here of, uh, the circle on the whole season, on the whole
05:57season.
05:58Yep.
05:58Here it is.
06:00The winner is test into the year by one week.
06:06Will Anderson, Jr.
06:08Oh, 11, 11 out of, well, I say 17 plus two, 11 out of 19 circles of swarm.
06:16And William, the whole thing about it is on a week by week basis, just based on work ethic
06:21and relentless mindset, uh, it might not have always showed up in the production in
06:25various games, but that's the way he plays every single week.
06:29So a very deserving honor to will Anderson.
06:32Who do you think?
06:32Number two was Daniel Hunter, Daniel Hunter, number two at 10 that I liked that.
06:38Our circle of swarm kind of does match the, like the cat, what the catalysts of the team
06:43are.
06:43Yeah.
06:44Who do you think was number three?
06:45I think number three was probably Kamari Lasseter.
06:48Mark Lasseter was tied for four.
06:50Jalen Petrie.
06:50Jalen Petrie also tied for fourth with six.
06:53Okay.
06:54Was it Nico Collins?
06:55It was Nico Collins.
06:55Okay.
06:56Seven circles of swarm for Nico Collins.
06:58And then five players tied with six, man.
07:02I like the way this shook out, Seth.
07:04I think I can go Anderson, Hunter, Nico easily, easily as the top three guys on the team.
07:10And then the five guys tied for fourth are Dalton Schultz.
07:14Tied for fourth.
07:15Tied for fourth.
07:17Cause Anderson, Hunter, Nico, and then these, these five guys are next.
07:21So they're tied for fourth.
07:22So the next set of guys would be tied for ninth or whatever.
07:25Um, Dalton Schultz, Kamari Lasseter, Jalen Petrie, Tommy Togiai, Woody Marks.
07:34And Tommy Togiai, uh, you know, uh, spotted everybody a couple of games cause he was inactive
07:40for the first couple of games, man.
07:42Yeah.
07:43He, he, he did get a contract during that time.
07:45That was pretty swarmy of him.
07:46Now the one for the tough thing for Woody Marks will be, he was getting, uh, he was getting
07:50a little bit of a bump because he's a rookie, uh, because he was playing then because he's
07:55a smaller guy, because he's playing behind an offensive line that was really finding the
07:59way.
08:00Remember it was a, uh, it was a half season long competition to see who would be the
08:05starting left guard.
08:06And it turned out neither of the guys in the competition were going to be the left guard.
08:10Right.
08:10It was, uh, so, uh, next year he won't get the benefit of the doubt.
08:14He will not.
08:15He, he will not.
08:16All right.
08:16So, um, so there you go.
08:18That was, uh, our final circle of swarm of the season.
