02:11a transition potentially to whatever your next career is unless you're just going to be bozos

02:23health insurance for five years well philip rivers has 10 kids and he retired five years ago yeah so
02:32on some level philip was probably like you know what i could really use health insurance
02:38for another five years dude he had to be like charlie opening up the chocolate bar with the
02:43golden tickets yeah well you know and i don't want to make it you know too serious or anything but like
02:48you know you never in any given family if you have a kid that has serious health concerns i mean
02:52that could that could actually be or millions of dollars depending on what it would be um so that
02:57yeah i don't i don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities and not to be clear i don't know

05:52he come he's out of louisville yeah he was a six-round pick out of louisville last year he was a good
05:56player and he had some yeah he had some great explosive plays in college he's a you know i do
06:02this with running backs all the time a lot of these guys that are undrafted or taking the late
06:06rounds you turn on their highlights from college and you're like oh my gosh this is the next walter
06:11payton it's gonna be incredible he hung a buck 50 on notre dame yeah so the biggest question is
06:16just he's a smaller guy he's about 5 10 185 pounds um so not going to be a feature back or anything
06:22unless he turns into the next work done but he's got speed he's got ability as a receiver and he's
06:28flashed during training camp and that's a lot of texans fans right now are upset because they've
06:34been clamoring for jawar jordan especially as the team hung on to damian pierce for so long
06:39and um they're happy to see him get that performance but there has been kind of a
06:43burgeoning drum beat to see jawar jordan here in houston and and he delivered when he showed up
06:49sunday so they drafted i didn't realize they drafted two running backs woody marks
06:55jawar was 20 20 24 woody was this year yeah oh oh it's jawar's second year yes yeah he's
07:04a little bit he's been on the practice squad for two years now okay got it okay now now it makes a
07:10little more sense to me yeah and also the damian pierce thing i'll never understand i mean it was
07:16what three years ago he was your best player he was like your only ross ross three years ago ross you
07:22know what you real quick you know how um after the season teams put out collateral with like their best
07:28players on it to encourage people to buy season tickets you know how they do that they put like
07:32their six best players on there all like with mean mugging with their arms folded damian pierce

09:15they can avoid going on the road three times is to win the division they can win out the texans
09:20because they go raiders chargers colts those are three winnable games the the the jacks who they're
09:26trying to catch go broncos colts titans they are at the broncos this weekend i want your thoughts on
09:33that game because that game is just as critical for the texans as this weekend's texans game is
09:38against the raiders what happens if they what happens if the if the texans went out and the
09:45jags only lose to the broncos they can any of the three games the is as long as the jags lose one of
09:50these next three games because the other two are division games and that'll give them a worse
09:54division record than the texans but if they lose to the jags i mean if they lose to the broncos the
10:01texans still have the tiebreaker yes because it'll be record against common opponents and the
10:05texans will win that wow that's huge
10:08um i uh i think the jaguars are pretty darn good okay uh i was i mean to put it in perspective
10:18four out of the last five games trevor lawrence has not played at the end of the game it's been
10:27nick mullen's time that's how dominant the jags have been they really could have gone two ways
10:33after they collapsed against davis mills and the texans that that could have sent the season spiraling
10:41or could have put them in a better place and they bounced back they've won whatever it is five
10:47straight now it's kind of wild because the division would pretty much be a wrap if they had just not
10:52blown a 19 point lead to davis mills totally and the texans but they did and i'll say in particular these
11:01last i don't know three games it's maybe the best i've ever seen trevor lawrence play they're good
11:07on both sides of the ball no they didn't play great team you know a great team in the jets
11:12but right before that they hammered the colts right before that you know the titans are actually playing
11:19pretty decent they smoked them and then they beat the tar out of the chargers who are a 10 win team
11:28so right now i think jacksonville as much as anybody and i think that that game against
11:33denver is fantastic i'm really looking forward to it who are you picking
11:37probably jacksonville actually i'm about to record about to record the even money betting podcast and
11:47i think jacksonville is getting three there's a lot of lines like that this week where
11:52i much prefer when it's three and a half or two and a half yeah or seven and a half or whatever but
11:58i think i'm going to take i mean certainly if the jags if it goes up to three and a half but even at
12:04three i'm going to take the jags because i think they have an excellent chance to win outright you know
12:10the broncos are coming off of like uh that was a huge milestone win against the packers that was big
12:17for them that come from behind and oh nicks maybe the best game of his career blah blah blah
12:23whereas the jags starters were like chilling the last 10 minutes against the jets i i think there's
12:30a chance the jags go to denver and kind of make a statement a la set pain 1997 oh no he wasn't on
12:37the team yet were you no i wasn't 97 you're thinking of the 96 uh uh the 96 team in the 97
12:45playoffs and that's having yeah got it oh so then so then you got drafted by the jags after they
12:53had just gone to the afc championship game yeah yeah it was uh wow that's sweet yeah i still didn't
12:58know yeah yeah it was pretty cool i stepped right into i love how excited ross is about that that's
13:03sweet yeah i guess yeah i didn't um uh i got there like uh i was going to an expansion team but
13:10like not in the normal type of situation where you're you know you're going to struggle for
13:15five years or so right i would get that experience later on yeah i was uh i got to go to two expansion
13:21teams but one wasn't the typical expansion team experience right right i said no give me the real
13:26deal i want authenticity yeah i want to play this role like mickey rourke would hey ross before we
13:32before we cut you loose what are your thoughts on this upcoming offseason for kansas city in light of
13:37the fact that they were already going to be probably in some sort of a reset because of
13:41missing the playoffs but man now this mahomes acl thing really throws a monkey wrench into things
13:46yeah you know it's so funny because when a season like this happens these people are coming out of
13:54the woodwork to see uh oh the roster you know they got old the roster i don't think there's anything
14:00wrong with their roster you know i think what's wrong is whatever they had done in recent years
14:07to enable them to always i repeat seemingly always make the clutch plays late to win these games
14:14they just didn't do that this year for whatever reason whether they did a deal with the devil
14:18or they forgot to sprinkle their magic pixie dust i have no idea what happened to the chiefs
14:25late in games this year but i'm looking at their receivers hollywood brown is abyer worthy rushy rice
14:31kelsey's better this year than he was last year they're healthier running back you know the o-line
14:37didn't play great but they o-line hadn't been playing great the other years either mahomes was
14:41fine i think the defense probably was maybe the more of the issue the defense probably took
14:47more of a step back the um hey ross the one of the big you know news it won't be headline news for
14:54most of the nfl but here in houston the texans are playing with a defensive tackle rotation for
14:58much of the season where they've gotten way more out of the defensive tackle position than you would
15:02think just by looking at the depth chart but now with mario edwards going on ir they've got three deep
15:08three potentially starting defensive tackles from training camp now on ir and they're not going to
15:14be able to rotate guys uh the way they have been all season long and i try to expensive tackles
15:20perspective but from an offensive lineman's perspective you just tell me how
15:23like what it's like when you're out there and all of a sudden like a a fresh legged 320 pound
15:31guy comes in just to to relieve the other guy that you just had
15:35it makes a big difference and i actually was thinking about you this morning
15:41seth believe it or not both of you guys but when i was talking about the power rankings on the
15:48ross tucker podcast this is the second week in a row they lost the d tackle right yeah yeah yeah
15:55i mean it was settled last week and now it's mario this week yep yeah so now they've got sheldon
16:01togeye and naquan jones is that it yeah naquan jones played like 10 or 12 snaps in the game
16:09danico plays can give him a bunch of reps yeah but but you know how danico like danico autry is not
16:13going to be in there on you know you don't want him as a defensive tackle on third and one or something
16:17yeah that's not good because you're right they were actually getting really good play from their
16:23d tackles and i've said for a long time and this is not seth related i think that d tackle
16:32is the second most important position in the sport after quarterback you know some people say offensive
16:39line i say defensive line because you just need to have you just need to be at least average as the
16:45offensive line yeah you can't be average on d line and like get to the super bowl that's just
16:51that's not a thing that can't happen you have to be better than average and i believe that d tackle
16:57is more important than edge rusher just because i think even if you're not getting necessarily
17:03pressure um you know it counts as a pressure just being in the quarterback's face you know being that
17:10that threat in the middle if you've got a good d tackle then they're going to want to double team
17:16them then you get the edge guys freed up quarterback does a good job of stepping up i don't know i just
17:21think d tackle second most important position in the sport you know ross you know you and i we've
17:25talked before and i've heard you talk about references on your podcast afterwards um that one of the big
17:30challenges for the texans offensively is okay hey are they facing a stud defensive line and you can
17:36almost look and see whether what the outcome of the game is going to be based on that as the season's
17:41gone along what we've really learned is that if they've got a stud interior defensive lineman that's
17:47when the texans really struggle even versus the versus the titans when they had both to vandre sweat
17:52and jeffrey simmons at the same time the texans offense really struggled against that so on the
17:57offensive side of the ball we definitely feel that that's the biggest the biggest thing i fear in the
18:02playoffs is the teams that have stud interior defensive lineman absolutely all right that's
