00:00Spurs and the Rockets in the NBA tonight, Joe.
00:02It's an 8 o'clock tip time.
00:03Spurs are on the road.
00:04Home team is the Rockets.
00:05The Battle of Texas tonight.
00:07This opening line overnight was around minus three.
00:09Now I'm seeing minus three and a half and minus fours in the marketplace
00:12in a total that sits at 220 and a half,
00:14which is down overnight from that 224 and a half.
00:17This is going to be a, yeah, again,
00:19future playoff game and a playoff series coming your way.
00:23Rockets at home.
00:24San Antonio looking to kind of continue their winning ways here
00:30against the Western Conference best.
00:33But the Rockets have not been great, Donnie, over the last month here.
00:37They can't shoot the three anymore.
00:38That's kind of been a big reason as to why they've been about a 500 team at best.
00:43But they are better at home at the Toyota Center than any place else.
00:47I actually saw a couple of spots had this at four and a half, five last night.
00:51I'm seeing three and a half in a number of spots here, Donnie, now.
00:56So it does appear overnight money favoring the Spurs.
01:00But I believe the Rockets, as long as Webb Ayama is playing,
01:03and if he's not, you may want to grab the Rockets at this price
01:07because you won't get it at this if he's announced out.
01:10Joe, we got three 10 o'clock games Eastern tonight.
01:12This one, the Miami Heat and the Sacramento Kings out of the West Coast.
01:1510 o'clock start here.
01:16Minus two and a half as the favorite for the Miami Heat.
01:18Also a total listed at 236 and a half.
01:20Keith Kings, give me a spread line for that one.
01:23Miami got crushed by Golden State and watched Jimmy Butler
01:26blow out his ACL for them last night.
01:29Now they take on a Sacramento team who has DeMontis Sabonis back
01:33and has been playing some great basketball,
01:35even though they got absolutely crushed last game.
01:38And second of a back-to-back for the Heat.
01:40It's all about the scheduling in this one.
01:42We did see the Heat as a bigger favorite,
01:44but all the money overnight coming towards the Kings.
01:47Ah, the NBA tonight.
01:49Looks like we have three, let's see, six, seven games on the card today, Joe.
01:54No afternoon action.
01:55We had an MLK Day celebration.
01:57A couple games in the afternoon yesterday and then filtered into the night.
02:01Some teams are playing a back-to-back,
02:03and that includes those Philadelphia 76ers who won yesterday against the lowly Pacers.
02:08Couldn't get a better opponent today in the city with the Phoenix Suns coming to town.
02:12This line opened up overnight, Joe.
02:13Minus one point favorite towards the Sixers.
02:15Most outlets still sitting at minus one.
02:17Some have gone to minus one and a half.
02:19Some even have the Phoenix Suns as a one-point favorite here.
02:22And a total of 223 and a half.
02:24Always tough to gauge when Joel Embiid plays the day before.
02:28If he's going to play today, will it matter at this point?
02:30Which way would you go, Joe?
02:32Sixers on a back-to-back Suns here in town.
02:35What are we looking at here?
02:37Listen, I know the Suns here.
02:39As long as Booker is playing here,
02:41Yeah, I got no problem.
02:43I have no problem backing them at this short number.
02:46I mean, that was a great effort yesterday.
02:48But second of a back-to-back,
02:51Sixers haven't exactly been money at home in these spots here.
02:55So, but Paul George did sit out yesterday, right?
02:59So likely he will go today, and Embiid will likely be out.
03:03But my goodness, Phoenix has really, really been playing well here.
03:08So, and, you know, they handled easily the, what, the Brooklyn Nets?
03:12I think they're 5-2 in their last seven games.
03:15They're, they're, this is a big, long road trip for them.
03:18They're only 2-2.
03:19But to me, I think the Suns have the edge on the glass with Mark Williams now.
03:26And it feels like, yeah, one, one and a half,
03:29Phoenix Suns could be the right side here.
03:31Yeah, both teams playing a back-to-back today.
03:35The Suns were in Brooklyn.
03:36The Sixers were at home.
03:37So maybe a slight travel advantage for the Sixers
03:39because they didn't travel at all.
03:40Brooklyn, not certainly not too far from Philadelphia.
03:43But you still have to change hotels, get in the town.
03:45You may be getting a little bit late, just the way it is.
03:46But a one-point favorite for those Philadelphia 76ers.
03:49Game number two, we'll talk about, Joe.
03:50An 8 p.m. start tonight in the association.
03:53The Spurs on the road to take on the Houston Rockets.
03:55This line opened up around three overnight.
03:58Now we see fours and even as high as four and a half.
04:01In the marketplace.
04:02Only about 40% of the tickets right now, Joe, I'm seeing,
04:05coming in on the Houston Rockets.
04:06And a total that has dropped overnight, 224 and a half,
04:09down to 220 and a half.
04:12How about that, Spurs Rockets?
04:14Yeah, so we need to know exactly who's playing in this game here
04:18for San Antonio.
04:21And, you know, Wemby, still on a minutes restriction here of sorts.
04:25Is he going to go if he does?
04:28I mean, Stephen Castle was dealing with flu-like symptoms the other night.
04:33But it would be great if we could see him.
04:35I know Stephen Adams is out.
04:37Eason is out.
04:38Or at least day-to-day for Houston.
04:41Houston, I tend to like to back at home in spots like this.
04:45But it feels like if I can get points with San Antonio,
04:49it feels like it's worth rolling, especially more than a bucket, Donnie.
04:53It feels like it might be worth rolling the dice,
04:55even if Wemby is a late scratch.
04:58Yeah, Wemby, 33-10 last night.
05:00And, again, it is a back-to-back, but the Spurs were at home.
05:03Not a great long night.
05:04It's not that the Spurs are going to, let's just say, Minnesota.
05:06They're only traveling in-state.
05:07We'll see if that turns out.
05:08But the early indicators are the Rockets catching a little bit of steam
05:11this morning, despite, again, only having about 40% of the ticket count.
05:14One team on a buy, one team not on a buy.
05:16Those are the differences that Joe points out.
05:18Maybe wait until a little bit later in the day to see who's in, who's out.
05:21Then those numbers certainly will be baked into the line at that time.
05:24The Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Denver Nuggets in elevation.
05:27How about this, Joe?
05:28Opening line favorite for the Lakers at minus two.
05:31Most outlets now coming back at minus two and a half as a favorite for the
05:34Los Angeles Lakers in a total of 228 and a half live,
05:38despite only 25% of the tickets here coming in on the Denver Nuggets at home.
05:46Yeah, I can't believe this is the first time they're actually playing.
05:48I got three games set this season, Donnie, against one another.
05:52I believe Aaron Gordon already good to go.
05:56But the Lakers don't have Austin Reeves.
05:59I think DeAndre Ayton, they said, could also be good to go here tonight, which is nice because
06:05the Nuggets don't have Valanciunas and they don't have the Joker.
06:08So they don't have a big man right now until they can get healthy.
06:12But Aaron Gordon is a pretty tough, you know, customer there.
06:15And they still have Murray.
06:17Christian Braun has already been ruled out.
06:19So, you know, the Lakers tend to be really good against those sub-500 teams, Donnie.
06:24They don't tend to be this good against teams that are over 500.
06:29And it feels like, yeah, the Nuggets at home, second half might be worth taking a look here
06:36and certainly might be worth it.
06:38Plus money, maybe a little sprinkle on the money line.
06:40Let's see what Luka Doncic has to say about that game time.
06:43Also, Joe, the NBA betting odds for the awards here.
06:46Shea Galgis-Alexander, did you know today, as we sit on June the 20th, is a minus 350 price
06:52to be the MVP, followed by Luka Doncic at a plus 8 to 1 price.
06:57And then Cade Cunningham and Jalen Brown.
06:59Is it so easy if OKC just maintains and down the stretch, SGA is just normal.
07:03SGA, he wins that?
07:04Or is there a chance that Luka can go absolutely nuclear and take this?
07:08Because coming into the season, a lot of people thought Luka Doncic would be able to overtake
07:11and win that MVP.
07:13But SGA seems like just in cruise control and being priced appropriately that way.
07:17Yeah, and that's kind of what it looks like right here.
07:20But listen, we all knew Luka is more than capable of scoring every night
07:27and being a one-man wrecking machine.
07:30I don't know that that's going to win him a lot of games against the upper echelon teams
07:33in the West, though.
07:34But he'll certainly rack up enough stats to make it very interesting, won't he?
07:39Yeah, we take a look at the Western Conference odds here to win it.
07:42And certainly OKC is a favorite at minus 155.
07:45But isn't that substantial here?
07:46Because they're just a short plus money, a basically favorite,
07:50to win the NBA championship, followed by the Nuggets, Spurs, Rockets, and Timberwolves.
07:53And as we continue to say, we sit here late January in the first part of February.
07:58The trade deadline is going to hit, and some of those things certainly will change those numbers.
08:02But it's clear, if OKC is healthy, Joe, entering into the playoffs,
08:06they're going to be a decided favorite, and rightfully so, being the home team
08:08and staying at home, have a great record here.
08:11But the one thing also is once the Denver Nuggets just get back to being healthy again,
08:15and I'm not saying like, you know, a surprise where it's like, hey, you know,
08:19our big man, if he misses some games, could he be fresher for the playoff run
08:23for the Nuggets, Joe, and some value there?
08:25Yeah, absolutely.
08:28You know, Valanchunas was supposed to be the depth behind the Joker,
08:33because every time he goes to the bench, you know, their point differential is minus 12, minus 15.
08:40So he was actually doing a really good job of spelling the Joker and keeping up momentum.
08:45So getting both of those guys back healthy, the two big men,
08:49they are absolutely worth a look in the future market.
08:52How about the Clips sitting at a 50-to-1 price?
08:56Not for the NBA championship, to win the NBA Western Conference.
09:00Pretty incredible with some of these teams that are veteran-laden with superstars
09:04and the pricing that you can get.
09:05One good season.
09:06For me, Joe, I'm going back to the NBA tonight.
09:08Late night action, 10 p.m. start.
09:10The Miami Heat taking on the Sacramento Kings.
09:13Back-to-back for the Miami Heat.
09:14The Kings at home only catching around 35% to 37% of the tickets here as the home team and an underdog.
09:20This line opened up at 2.5, went to 3.5.
09:23Now it's back to 2.5 at most outlets.
09:24I grabbed the 3.5 here.
09:26Let's go tonight with an outright winner for the Sacramento Kings
09:29and the fallback option to take them at plus 3.5.
09:33I don't know how I lost yesterday, Joe.
09:34A minus 3, my team won the game and I didn't cover.
09:37That's a tough scene.
09:38Tonight, Joe, we go 2-0 for the people post-college football season.
09:42That's how you celebrate it.
