00:00The central and eastern U.S. has had a long dry spell here the past five days,
00:04but for a lot of us, we go back much deeper than that.
00:07We're running a nine, ten-day string of dry weather,
00:11and that will continue through the rest of this week.
00:13If we look at New York, Allentown, Philadelphia, D.C., and Raleigh,
00:16we've gone quite a while, since October 16th or 17th,
00:20since we last saw measurable rain,
00:22and all these areas will likely be dry through at least Sunday and into Monday.
00:27That's the first day where we have a reasonable chance for rain,
00:31and that will put most of us into a 15- to 16-day-long string of days without measurable
00:36rain.
00:36That's our longest dry spell since 2024 in some places,
00:40when we had a much, much longer dry spell.
00:42Some spots had over a month of dry weather.
00:45We're going to stay warm as well in through the weekend.
00:48Any breeze will lead to fire danger given the dry conditions,
00:51and the next reasonable chance for showers enters the forecast on Monday
00:54with a better chance later next week.
