00:00The Houston Rockets going to take on the Philadelphia 76ers in Philadelphia, Joe.
00:03Minus twos to two and a half across the board as a favorite for the Rockets.
00:07Correct me if I'm wrong.
00:08I think this is actually the third game in four nights for the Philadelphia 76ers.
00:13220, 221 and a half is the total.
00:15But the Rockets, Joe, come to Philadelphia as favorites here
00:17and getting about 75% of those tickets.
00:20What's your spread line for that game tonight in Philadelphia?
00:23Yeah, well, I mean, listen, the Rockets have been going through it.
00:26They haven't exactly been playing their best basketball here as of late.
00:30They're finding it kind of hard, although they did have a nice comeback there against San Antonio.
00:37And it was all because of Reed Shepard in that game.
00:39And they're hoping that was the spark that can propel them forward.
00:43Because, Donnie, they went a month without being able to hit a three, which wasn't great.
00:49But Philadelphia looks to have Embiid back here tonight.
00:52Looks like Paul George also is trending in that direction at playing.
00:57So when it comes to Philadelphia, Donnie, we're seeing two different versions of this team,
01:01depending on what the availability of both Embiid and Paul George are.
01:06But it looks like Embiid is going here tonight.
01:08And the market opened up overnight, minus three with Houston.
01:12And we've seen nothing but Philadelphia money early this morning.
01:15By the way, one, two, three, four, five, their fifth straight home game for the Philadelphia 76ers
01:21takes place tonight against the Houston Rockets.
01:23Maybe they get some of that home cooking because they've lost three out of the four games already.
01:27Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers out west coast tonight, Joe.
01:31The Battle of Los Angeles.
01:32The Lakers come into this game as an underdog of plus one.
01:36You see the lines overnight around plus two, excuse me, minus two and a half to minus two for the Clippers,
01:40depending where you're shopping at.
01:41But now we see it settling in around a minus one favorite for the Clippers at home.
01:46Kawhi Leonard, of course, probably not going to be there tonight.
01:48James Harden, we'll see if he makes it.
01:49Questions on the Lakers.
01:51Roughly a toss up, Joe.
01:52What's your spread line for this game tonight in the Battle of L.A.?
01:55Well, they've been, listen, the Clippers have been red hot and it all started, Donnie.
02:00They were six and 21 on the season on December 20th.
02:05That is when they shut down the Lakers, 103-88, and then began winning 13 of their next 16 games.
02:13They're coming back.
02:14It's the first game home off a long road trip here.
02:17They just lost and kind of got beat up by Chicago.
02:20But like you said, no Kawhi Leonard.
02:23However, Kawhi Leonard is back to being questionable tonight.
02:26He has been in L.A. for the last couple of games here.
02:30He left the team to work on that knee.
02:32We'll see if he's available, but the Lakers have no interest in losing to the Clippers here.
02:38They had a nice effort in that last game.
02:40Big effort in Denver to get it done.
02:43Now they've got to take on the hot Clippers.
02:45Keep an eye on the injury report.
02:47Is Kawhi available?
02:49Is he not?
02:49Because if he becomes available, this line is going to change.
02:53And right now, Lakers, Clippers opened up two overnight as a favorite.
02:58We're seeing closer to a pick-em right now.
03:00That will change if Kawhi is healthy.
03:03Let's get down to the business in the NBA tonight right here on the Early Line on the Sports Grid Network.
03:07Donnie Wrights out along with Joe Ranieri in the city of brotherly love.
03:10The Philadelphia 76ers taking on the Houston Rockets.
03:13The fifth straight home game for the Philadelphia 76ers.
03:16Losers of three out of their first four at home.
03:18Maybe they rebound tonight, but they are the underdog.
03:20Opening lines overnight, minus two and a half or so for the Houston Rockets.
03:24That's down to twos and one and a halves, depending on where you're shopping at, Joe.
03:27And a total of 221 and a half.
03:30Full go Sixers at home against the Rockets?
03:32Could be.
03:33What are we thinking here?
03:34Yeah, no, it could very well be.
03:37Rockets actually came from behind in a big effort at home last game against San Antonio there.
03:44It has not been a great month for them.
03:46They've had these shooting woes, especially from three.
03:49But Reed Shepard appears to have found the stroke for them and really kind of ignited the comeback there against San Antonio.
03:55And they're hoping that continues here.
03:58But we mentioned it, Donnie.
04:00You know, the Sixers, it appears we get two different teams on some nights, right?
04:04Because Embiid is good to go again here tonight for this game.
04:08Paul George remains questionable, but it looks like he is trending towards playing.
04:13So this is, I would rather have Embiid in the lineup against the Rockets than anything else.
04:18The Rockets were a three-point favorite overnight.
04:21We've seen some Philadelphia money come in this morning, and I agree with it.
04:26You know, with Embiid on the court, it's a different team.
04:29And I think the matchup is pretty good here for the Sixers at home against this Rockets team,
04:34who I'm not sold has actually found their perimeter game yet.
04:38Hornets going to take on the Magic tonight in Orlando.
04:41The Magic, roughly a touchdown favorite, sitting at minus six and a half at just about every outlet, Joe.
04:45A total of 229 and a half here.
04:48Charlotte going up against the Magic.
04:50What do we got tonight?
04:52Yeah, Charlotte got absolutely embarrassed in that game yesterday there and against the Cavs,
04:59although they made a spirited effort in the second half.
05:02I would expect a big effort from them here tonight.
05:06But it is the second of a back-to-back.
05:08You've got Orlando with the rest advantage here.
05:12And you have an Orlando team that has, well, got a little healthier, right?
05:16Franz Wagner is back now.
05:18So they've got one of their leading scorers back on the court.
05:22It's a tough spot for Charlotte.
05:24I expect a big effort from them, but likely they're going to come up a little bit short
05:28against the very physical Orlando Magic.
05:31Denver Nuggets taking on the Washington Wizards.
05:33Denver is on the road here.
05:35Opened up overnight as a minus six-point favorite or so.
05:37Now sits at five and a half across the board, but a total of 231 and a half.
05:4275% of the tickets pouring in this morning for the Denver Nuggets taking on the Wizards, Joe.
05:47What do we see here from the Nuggets-Wizards, Matt, Joe?
05:49Listen, even a shorthanded Denver team here should have no issues dealing with the Washington Wizards here.
05:58And, in fact, I think this is what?
06:00I mean, this is a three-game homestand that ended.
06:05And I think they just played the Wizards, I think, Donnie.
06:09And Jamal Murray had 42 in that game.
06:11Hardaway Jr. had 30.
06:12And they basically ran away from Washington.
06:16I don't see how they're not going to do this in this one as well.
06:19But the good news for Denver is it appears Valanchunas and the Joker are trending coming back sooner rather than later.
06:28But they should have no problem handling business here tonight.
06:31How about the Golden State Warriors no longer having Jimmy Butler, but a three-and-a-half-point favorite overnight is now ballooning to minus five-and-a-half on the road to take on the Dallas Mavericks.
06:40That could probably be one thing, some injuries or some guys sitting out for the Dallas Mavericks.
06:44That total, 232-and-a-half Warriors Mavericks in Dallas tonight, Joe.
06:50Yeah, well, a question.
06:51I mean, the Warriors got some – they got to figure it out.
06:55And what they have come up with, and we said this, Donnie, the minute Jimmy Butler was lost for the season, well, there's no more trade talk about Jonathan Kaminga because it looks like he is back in the mix now for the Golden State Warriors.
07:08And don't forget, I mean, he did a great job for them last year on that playoff run with him and Jimmy Butler because Steph Curry, don't forget, remember, pulled his hamstring in the postseason against Minnesota.
07:18And then – but he came in in a big, big way.
07:23I mean, he did a great job, but he hasn't played because they've been stashing him in the, you know, did not available list because he keeps saying either play me or trade me.
07:32He demanded a trade, but they can't afford to trade him here.
07:36So, I'm going to be very interested to see the effort here that the Warriors give with him on the floor.
07:42But the reality is, Dallas, too many injuries and question marks.
07:47Keep an eye on whether Cooper Cup is actually going in this – Cooper Flag, rather, is actually going in this game because he is still questionable.
07:57And without him, there is no scoring punch to the Mavericks.
08:00Ah, don't fault you.
08:01He's got football in the mind and rightfully so this weekend.
08:04Big Cooper Cup action maybe for Joe this weekend.
08:06Chicago Bulls in the minute – there you go.
08:08First name is all you need.
08:09That's all we need in this sport.
08:11Bulls, Timberwolves here.
08:12Close to a double-digit favorite here for the Minnesota Timberwolves at home, Joe.
08:16And a high total of 239.5.
08:18T-Wolves at home to take on the Bulls.
08:20What are we looking at here?
08:22Yeah, and I believe Josh Giddey back in the mix here for Chicago.
08:26And we just saw them boat race the Clippers, right?
08:30So, yeah, I would only look at an over in this game.
08:34And don't forget, Minnesota coming off just a horrific loss there the other night against Utah.
08:39And now they are home, though.
08:41And I would expect a big effort offensively from everybody involved in this game.
08:47Yeah, over in a big way.
08:50Battle of L.A. tonight, Joe.
08:51Lakers-Clippers.
08:52Now, we talked about this game earlier.
08:53One-point favorite for the Clippers at home.
08:56But that could change due to availability of some players tonight on each one of these teams.
09:00And a total of 224.5 at the Intuit Dome tonight.
09:03The Battle of Los Angeles.
09:04Yeah, so the good news is that Kawhi Leonard is listed as questionable.
09:10He was overnight anyway, which means there's a chance he plays in this game.
09:14So, I would want to know what the availability is.
09:17Missed the last couple of games.
09:18He left the team on the road trip to get his knee worked on back home.
09:24We'll see if he goes.
09:25But if he does go, Donnie, this line is changing.
09:28I mean, they opened up as a two-point favorite overnight.
09:30It is kind of swung towards the Lakers this morning.
09:35But, to me, this is all about the availability of Kawhi Leonard in this game.
09:39San Antonio Spurs on the road.
09:41The take on the Jazz is roughly two touchdown favorites sitting at minus 13 and minus 12.5 at many outlets here.
09:47A total of 238.5.
09:49Full-go Spurs.
09:51Are they going to dominate the Jazz in their own building, Joe?
09:54No.
09:55I don't think so here.
09:56Because Utah is, they are feisty.
09:59And, by the way, I mean, Laurie Markkinen, much better at home and is likely available for this game.
10:05Even though Utah beat the Timberwolves without them, this is a much better team at home.
10:10And the Spurs kind of feel like they're going through the motions right now.
10:1412.5 is a big number, Donnie.
10:23Joe, once again, you hit the nail on the head last night with a victory.
10:26Give us another one tonight.
10:28Sean Miller in Texas, not winning at Rupp Arena, but certainly getting the cover at seven and a half there against Kentucky.
10:38All of a sudden, Kentucky now with three wins in a row in conference play.
10:43But we're going to head to the association here tonight, Donnie.
10:47And it's so funny because as we're sitting here and when I put this play in to the guys there in master control, yeah, all of a sudden the line has moved against me.
10:58And the under is getting money now in this Spurs-Jazz game tonight.
11:03And quite honestly, I'm happy about it because it gives us a better number for this thing to go over.
11:10And the reason it's being bet under is the overreaction to the news that Laurie Markkinen will not be playing tonight in this one.
11:17But I don't care at this point because Utah at home, Donnie, one of the best over teams in the NBA, 17-5 to the over at home.
11:29And you'd be hard-pressed to find a line that was under 240 in this spot.
11:35These teams already played in Utah, and it landed over 240.
11:39And when Bayama wasn't even on the court, it's a bounce-back spot for them.
11:44I think we're getting nothing but points once again here tonight.
11:47So I'll gladly take the over 237 now, Donnie, in the market.
11:52And I hope it keeps dropping so we can get it again at an even lower number.
11:57And I'll gladly take a team that actually has a winning record as opposed to a non-winning record like the Sacramento Kings.
12:03I'm going to take a look at the Philadelphia 76ers tonight and take the two points, Joe.
12:06Only 25% of the tickets coming in early on the Philadelphia 76ers.
12:11Overnight at FanDuel, minus 2.5.
12:13That's now dropped to 2.
12:14I'll take the plus 2 with the Sixers tonight as we get an NBA sweep before we head into another episode, Joe, of Football Friday.
