00:00Spreadlines on a Tuesday, the games that you need to know.
00:03Joe and Donnie, we got you covered.
00:04It starts in San Antonio tonight, 8 p.m. Eastern,
00:07the Trail Blazers and the San Antonio Spurs.
00:09Game number two, heavy lines here.
00:12Joe, overnight, opened up as 11.5-point favorite,
00:15still sits as an 11.5-point favorite for those San Antonio Spurs,
00:18and a total, Joe, of 220.5.
00:20Give me a spreadline, a little Trail Blazers-Spurs action tonight.
00:24Well, we're starting to see that theme, Donnie.
00:26A lot of game one lines pretty much in line with what we're seeing in game two.
00:30We saw it last night, except two out of three ended up,
00:33who lost game one, end up covering and winning outright.
00:37Listen, they lost by 13, Portland, Donnie,
00:40and they didn't play well at all,
00:42and they still had a chance to stay within the closing number of 12.5 in that spot.
00:47So I think with a little better effort, they shoot the ball a little bit better.
00:51I still think this number might be a little too much here.
00:54Portland can play some defense.
00:56I would only look at taking the points here tonight.
00:59I don't want to watch this next game.
01:01I really don't, Joe.
01:02It's a 7 o'clock start.
01:03It's the Philadelphia 76ers taking on the Boston Celtics.
01:06Line opened up after game number one at 13.5.
01:09Today, we're seeing 14s, and now, Joe, 14.5s in the marketplace.
01:14Two touchdown favorite for the Boston Celtics,
01:16and a total of 216.5.
01:18No Embiid yet on deck.
01:20No hope for my Sixers.
01:21But, Joe, that doesn't mean they have to win the game.
01:23Can they cover the spread?
01:25What's the spread line tonight for the Sixers and Celtics?
01:28When you start getting these kinds of spreads, Donnie,
01:30you got to ask yourself, if they're not covering early,
01:33are they really covering late?
01:35So if you think this, and listen,
01:38I always think that teams that get embarrassed,
01:40and they got embarrassed, those Sixers.
01:43You know, the best effort you're going to get
01:45is usually to start the game early on.
01:48I think they'll be focused.
01:49I would take the points in the first half,
01:51but I don't think they ultimately end up winning here,
01:55and it could get ugly in the second half.
01:56But I think you're going to get maximum effort early
01:59with these big spread games from these teams.
02:02Do we get Kevin Durant back tonight out west in Los Angeles?
02:06The Rockets take on the Lakers game number two.
02:08Lakers won game number one.
02:09This line, Joe, opened up at four and a half.
02:11Most outlets still sitting at four and a half,
02:13and a really low total in this one, Joe.
02:152-0-6-and-a-half, Rockets, Lakers out on the West Coast.
02:19Give me a spread line for this one.
02:21I don't care if he plays or he doesn't play.
02:24They are not shooting as terrible as they did last game.
02:27It's not happening.
02:2866 shots to 93.
02:31Guess who took 93 shots in the game
02:33and couldn't score 100 points?
02:35Yes, that was the Houston Rockets.
02:38That will not happen again.
02:39Houston team total, Donnie.
02:42It is artificially low.
02:43We'll buy low on it tonight here and take the over.
02:47Tuesday morning is a lot to talk about here on the Sports Grid Network.
02:50The early line, rise and grind, people.
02:52It's not the right side of the show.
02:53And here is Kevin Walsh.
02:54He's been up for hours skewering over this NBA card.
02:58And by the way, Kevin, saw you.
03:00You know, sometimes just align with the right side.
03:02I loved Atlanta yesterday.
03:04You loved Atlanta yesterday.
03:06Outright victory for them Hawks.
03:08Love to see it.
03:09Yeah, it was nice to see.
03:11I will say it didn't the rhythm of that game, though, wasn't exactly what I was anticipating here,
03:18where I thought Atlanta would have needed to jump on the Knicks and kind of control the game.
03:24And it was the complete opposite, right?
03:27They were down double digits heading into that fourth quarter.
03:30But the Hawks just kept battling.
03:33And that Knicks offense completely fell apart in the fourth there.
03:3615 points is what they scored against Atlanta.
03:40Lost that game 107-106, obviously.
03:44I couldn't believe it.
03:45And I thought they would have made a few more threes, too.
03:48But they did not.
03:50They weren't great from the perimeter.
03:52And they did a lot of their damage in the fourth quarter inside the paint and just dominating the Knicks.
03:58I just, I could not believe what I, they had nine points with about two and a half minutes to
04:02go.
04:02And I'm saying, where is the experience?
04:05Where is the Jalen Brunson?
04:06Now, all of a sudden, do we have a fight on our hands here in this series, you think?
04:11Yeah, I mean, I think we do.
04:13I think we were always supposed to, right, Joe?
04:15I don't think this was supposed to be a series that ended in, is there a helicopter in someone's backyard?
04:19It sounds like going on in my ear.
04:21I don't know if you guys are hearing that as well.
04:22I mean, yeah, I feel like I'm standing on top of Madison Square Garden.
04:27It's great.
04:27I love it.
04:30The, it was always supposed to be, oh, propellers down.
04:34There was always, it was supposed to be a really competitive series.
04:38And I do not view this Knicks core as a group who rely on Madison Square Garden to advance in
04:47series.
04:48I feel, obviously, you want to win your home games, but they've been good on the road.
04:52They've been susceptible at home.
04:54And that is exactly what we saw here against Atlanta.
04:58I don't think it's a panic for the Knicks.
05:00It's one of the reasons I liked Atlanta.
05:02To me, if Atlanta spotted the Knicks a 2-0 series lead, this thing would have been done.
05:07Probably within five games.
05:09So, impressive by Atlanta.
05:12Again, find themselves down double digits.
05:15But, like, in, like, real double digits, right?
05:17Like, not like 10.
05:18Like, it was a real deficit.
05:19And they just battled the entire way.
05:22Another tough beat for people who played the over, though, in this where really close to the number.
05:29But it just does not get there by a couple of points.
05:32Yeah, because 15 points in the fourth quarter by the Knicks.
05:35But the Hawks get the victory there.
05:36Tie up that series 1-1.
05:37Now, here's some terminology, Kevin, that you'll like here.
05:40And if we look at, you know, the WWE WrestleMania fans really upset about this.
05:44So, how about this game last night, Joe?
05:46You got the powder move by Anthony Edwards here.
05:49Brings the cheap heat late in the game.
05:51And the Jokic brothers might have to step in.
05:54Love to see the Timberwolves on the road.
05:56Give me a series here with the Nuggets.
05:57And it looks like some anger to build up.
06:00Love it.
06:01Yeah, I think for, obviously, I love the references.
06:04Yeah.
06:05For Denver, Jokic was uncomfortable on the offensive side of the basketball for one of the first times I can
06:15remember down the closing stretch.
06:17It is not, one single play is not going to be why they lost, right?
06:21But you think about all the times during LeBron's career, late in a shot or late in a game, right?
06:29Late in the shot clock, he passes instead of shoots.
06:31People are like, no, no, no.
06:32You have to take the shot.
06:33You have to take the shot.
06:34But people like myself are like, you made the right play.
06:38Jokic had a moment last night where he actually made the wrong play.
06:42Nikoli Jokic is one of the best floaters in basketball.
06:45Austin Rivers was talking about this on the broadcast.
06:47But he had missed a couple.
06:50He wasn't able to get his clean of looks off of Rudy Gobert.
06:53He overthought a pretty wide-open floater to drop it off to Christian Brown in a tight area.
07:02It wasn't a clean pass.
07:04Anthony Edwards almost stole that basketball.
07:06Braun did get fouled.
07:07It's up to Braun to make those free throws.
07:10But you much, if you're Denver, would have preferred Nikoli Jokic to let that shot go.
07:14That's a higher percentage shot from Jokic throughout his career.
07:19And it's not to say that, oh, they lost the game because Jokic went for 24-15-8 and was
07:25a plus one in his 40 minutes.
07:27But I thought Jokic was legitimately uncomfortable during stretches of that game.
07:34And we do not usually see that from Nikoli Jokic.
07:39They lost the game because, once again, the problem with this version of the Nuggets is they're not good defensively.
07:45It's their Achilles heel this year.
07:47They just—you can't give up at home.
07:50When is the last time you can remember, Kev, the Denver Nuggets and the Jokic giving up a 19-point
07:56lead at home in Denver in the second half?
07:59Kev, I mean, that's the problem with them here.
08:02I don't think you're going to have that problem tonight with Portland and San Antonio because we got a guy
08:07who's now the defensive player of the year easily.
08:11But I don't know.
08:1211-1⁄2—I mean, they only lost by 13, Portland, and they didn't play well at all, Kev.
08:18So I don't know.
08:20Is this just a little too rich here again?
08:22I think it's tough because I think you have these two monster numbers, right, on the slate tonight.
08:28I think most bettors will like one of the two dogs, and one of them will probably cover, and one
08:35of them will probably lose by, you know, 70, it'll feel like.
08:38So I haven't kind of figured out exactly where I'll land on that yet.
08:42Just quickly to the Wemby Defensive Player of the Year thing.
08:45The fact that he ended up being the youngest defensive player of the year when he finished second narrowly in
08:53his rookie year and would have won it going away if he didn't get injured in his second year and
09:00still yet—let's say, oh, he just had to wait, you know, extra seasons, still the youngest.
09:05And the one thing that I wonder about Victor Webinyama, just a bit of thought exercise for everybody, will there
09:11ever be a season in which he wins league MVP and doesn't also win the Defensive Player of the Year
09:18award?
09:18I just—I wonder if that's just, like, you know, another four, five, six coming his way.
09:23No, not allowed to do that.
09:25Just like in the end, hey, the MVP of the league is the quarterback.
09:27Yeah, but he's not the best player on the—let's be real.
09:29It's Christian McCaffrey, so we're going to be splitting those awards for the next decade.
09:33But also the NBA, round number one, Kevin, not really bringing the juice all that much, but I did like
09:38to see the upsets last night.
09:39We had a couple last night.
09:41Sixers getting 14-and-a-half, Spurs laying 11-and-a-half.
09:44You get the Rockets and Lakers tonight, which should be a good win if KD comes back.
09:47Then I look tomorrow, Kevin, a couple early spreads.
09:49Nine with the Pistons, 17-and-a-half with the Thunder.
09:52Ooh, man, it's like the haves and the have-nots right now.
09:55Yeah, look, it's round one.
09:57If people want, we could do that, you know, phony baloney NHL bracket that nobody understands that eliminates good teams.
10:04But I don't think anybody actually wants that.
10:06That's Kevin Walsh, Game Time Decision, celebrating his honeymoon with us on the grid.
10:11The Houston Rockets tonight taking on the Los Angeles Lakers.
10:15Lakers won game number one.
10:16Rockets looking to get back in game number two.
10:18The zigzag theory in full effect.
10:20Kevin Durant expected to be back.
10:22And their favorite, talking about the Rockets, at minus four-and-a-half.
10:25But here's the question, Joe, only 24% of the public here currently laying down their money on the Houston
10:29Rockets.
10:30And that line hasn't moved lower at this point.
10:33Love to see it.
10:33The handicap is simple, Joe.
10:35Nobody wants to take the Houston Rockets.
10:37You put the IRS.
10:38He's telling you, take the Houston Rockets tonight.
10:412-0 setup.
10:42PME is next.
10:43What a morning on the SportsCut Network.
10:45And it continues to roll along.
10:47Prediction Markets Edge right here on the early line for a Tuesday morning action-packed topics here.
10:53Great ways for you to invest your money and also look at some playoff action tonight in hockey as well
10:58as the NBA.
10:59Also some Major League Baseball.
11:01But, Joe, we're not going to leave out what's going to take place in roughly two days.
11:04That's the NFL draft.
11:06We got contracts, Joe, to take a look at on PME.
11:10Yes, we do.
11:12We got playoffs.
11:12We got Major League Baseball.
11:14We've got the draft.
11:16We got a lot going on here this week, Donnie.
11:19And the predictive markets are perfectly set up for this.
11:24No doubt about it, Joe.
11:26So let's get started here.
11:27Game number two, Portland and San Antonio.
11:298 p.m. start tonight.
11:31Heavy favorite for the San Antonio Spurs.
11:34Joe, I'm looking at Cal State right now.
11:35An 85% chance to win this game.
11:38So if you're like, you know what?
11:39I want to invest $100 on the Spurs.
11:41The payment?
11:41Only back $117.
11:44If you think Portland can get it going down there in San Antonio, win this game outright,
11:48look at this, Joe.
11:50$100 investment pays back $625.
11:53Heavily favorite tonight, the San Antonio Spurs.
11:57Yeah, and listen, there's actually two dogs that got a little cheaper here overnight.
12:04And this is one of them there with Portland.
12:06San Antonio opened about 12, 12.5, down to 11, 11.5 right now here.
12:13So listen, the market obviously believes San Antonio is going to win this game.
12:20But again, this was a team that we saw nothing but San Antonio money come in late in game one.
12:28It pushed it all the way up to 12.5, and they ended up winning by 13.
12:32But Portland played one of its worst games that it's played in a while.
12:37And I think that matters because this is a team that a lot of people expected, Donnie, to give San
12:43Antonio a run for their money.
12:45They've been one of the best defensive teams in the league.
12:48They never played against Wemby.
12:50That was a version of San Antonio.
12:52They didn't play.
12:53He didn't play in the three games during the regular season.
12:56Listen, I think they bounce back.
12:58All they're going to do is shoot a little bit better, and they'll stay within this number, I think, rather
13:02easily.
13:03And also, we talk about so many times, Joe, you can bet rebounds here in the predictive markets.
13:07You can bet points scoring at this point.
13:09You want to go for 35-plus, you can get that plus money here.
13:11But how about this, Joe?
13:13Events tonight, which includes, will they mention the term wingspan tonight?
13:17Which, every time Wemby plays, I feel like you have to notice that, hey, defensive player of the year, look
13:21at that wingspan.
13:22It's currently trading at 28% here, Joe, as a chance.
13:26But how about this?
13:26The contract is actually 64 cents.
13:29So, $100 investment pays back 157 if the word wingspan is announced during the telecast with Victor Webinyama.
13:36Let's move it over to Boston, Joe.
13:38You know me.
13:38The Sixers fan.
13:40Let's make this quick and painless as possible here.
13:42It's roughly a two-touchdown favorite.
13:44But if you take a look at Boston to win this game outright, Joe, in the marketplace, $100 investment, pays
13:49back $12 on the Boston Celtics.
13:52The Sixers, the spring, the upset, only listed at an 11% chance.
13:55The Sixers were wiped off the basketball court in game number one without Joel Embiid.
13:59And guess what?
14:00Joel Embiid's not back for game number two either.
14:03Boston Tea Party or Philadelphia comes to storm the fort, Joe.
14:08Well, I mentioned, right, we've seen two dogs get cheaper here over the last 24 hours.
14:13And this is the other one here because Philadelphia, Boston opened up a 14-and-a-half point favorite, Donnie.
14:20And now we're looking at 13, 13-and-a-halves here in some spots.
14:25So, now the question is really do we believe that Philadelphia is going to come out swinging here?
14:33And I think that's the best way to approach this because obviously there's a significant talent gap between Boston and
14:41Philadelphia right now.
14:42But, again, this is still a ridiculous number.
14:45And teams in the NBA at this point getting boat raced here by 30 points back-to-back games likely
14:53not going to happen here.
14:55I think if you're looking at Philly, you're looking at them early, Donnie, first half.
15:00And, by the way, if you think Boston is just that much better, then bet Boston in the first half
15:05to boat race them and then kind of take their foot off in the second half.
15:10So, it's what they did on Sunday.
15:11Boston right away in the first quarter, big lead at the half, cruised into the third quarter and smoked the
15:16Sixers.
15:16But if you are looking for a Sixers angle, Joe, right, you look at Tyrese Maxey and say, if he
15:20has a bad game, they're going to get blown out.
15:23But also, he can have a very good game and they can still get blown out.
15:26The reason I bring this up, Tyrese Maxey, 25-plus points or more tonight, $100 pays back $1.70 here,
15:32which, again, the contract is at 59 cents.
15:35But I just have that feeling like he's going to shoot 20-plus times tonight.
15:38They could still get blown out.
15:39But I do think he gets 25-plus points even if they're close or getting blown away.
15:44Just some way to bet the Sixers as opposed to, yeah, I think the Sixers can play within the number.
15:48And then it's 30-14 with two minutes to go in the first quarter.
15:51Like, yeah, why did I bet that here?
15:52Houston and the Los Angeles Lakers tonight, I like Houston in this game tonight.
15:56They are the favorite, Joe, currently trading on the Cal State Marketplace at 63% as a chance.
16:02And the contract, if they do win it outright, is listed at 65 cents.
16:06$100 investment will pay back $1.54.
16:08We had Kevin Walsh earlier here on the early line.
16:11The question is, looks like the rant's going to go.
16:13But as we know in the NBA, that mid-afternoon news cycle that goes downgraded from questionable to doubtful
16:20or doubtful to out or doubtful to probable, make sure you're watching that.
16:24But as it stands right now, Houston, Joe, is the favorite.
16:27Yeah, so the market is basically telling us, Donnie, that Houston is still the better team even on the road,
16:33even after losing game one.
16:35But it's also refusing to move this number until Durant, what's going on with him?
16:41Is he in or he is out, right?
16:43I mean, that's basically what we're trying to figure out.
16:46I do think there's a little bit of a bump here in what the anticipated total is, right?
16:52Because we've seen this open up at 205, 205 and a half.
16:55We're seeing 207, 207 and a half.
16:58So that means they're expecting a little more scoring.
17:02And I can tell you right now that is likely, whether Durant plays or not,
17:06that is still likely coming from Houston, who couldn't score 100 points on 93 shot attempts in that game.
17:13I agree.
17:14I think whether Durant plays or he doesn't play, I think totals, especially team totals,
17:20are the way to look here, specifically Houston here tonight.
17:24No, no, Luca, as we know, in the lineup for the Los Angeles Lakers.
17:27Also no, Austin Reeves, which means a lot of shots there for the old man, LeBron James,
17:31playing right now, basically, Joe, at even money.
17:34The contract is 50 cents.
17:35LeBron James has scored 25 plus or more points tonight.
17:38$100 investment pays back an even $200.
