00:00There were times where persons tried their best to draw me out and tried for me to get on that other side of gutter politics,
00:08but I chose to take the high road, recognizing that it's the dawn of a new era.
00:13It's time for us to campaign better. It's time for us to show to Bego that there's a different style of politics.
00:21Statistics show Mr. De Noon defeated Mr. Dennis by 245 votes.
00:26Speaking with TV6 News on Monday, the newly elected assemblyman said he is ready to serve all residents of his electoral district and the people of Tobago.
00:37As I have indicated during the campaign, there is no animosity between me and my former organization.
00:44Now the persons in the former organization, after January 12th, I am assemblyman for all in my district and look forward to serving all, whether they voted for me or not.
00:54Mr. De Noon says he has already begun work on the ground.
00:59A sand pit requested for Buku has now been established, one of just over two currently available in Tobago.
01:08He told us representation is paramount.
01:12And so for me, it's about getting the job done. It's about meeting the needs of the people.
01:16And it's about ensuring that the electoral district of Buku, Canaan and Mount Pleasant not only feel represented, but know that they are represented.
01:26On the advancement of Tobago's people, Mr. De Noon said the grace of Almighty God has placed him where he is today.
01:34Having resigned from the Youth Energized for Success Yes program, which serves young people across Tobago, he says he is confident the program remains in keepable hands.
01:47I'm just here to hand over all the passwords, all the files and so forth.
01:51Because succession planning is important and to ensure that the staff is not left just aimlessly, that they know exactly what needs to be done.
02:03And with the installation of secretaries and assistant secretaries of the Tobago House of Assembly set for Thursday, Mr. De Noon says he is ready to serve in whatever capacity he is called upon.
