00:00UNC candidate for Cuva South, Bari Pitaroff, is doubling down on his assertion that the
00:07PNM government, if re-elected, is intent on increasing water rates.
00:13We have said to you time and time again that the PNM is intent on raising water and electricity
00:22prices once or if, but we must not take God of our thoughts and put back the People's
00:29National Movement.
00:31Former Finance Minister, now Public Utilities Minister, Qom Imbert, however, at a business
00:36meeting on Wednesday, disputed any such notion.
00:41They have almost completed the process to increase the water rates.
00:48They have already received, the Regulated Industries Commission has received, the business
00:53model and the business plan from WASA.
00:56That has already been reviewed.
00:59The government has told the Regulated Industries Commission, wait, Dorothy, wait, wait, Dorothy,
01:07wait, because they're telling them, wait for after the election, because they do not want
01:12the political backlash.
01:14Meanwhile, Deputy Political Leader of the UNC, Dr. Rudal Munilal, warns against the
01:19re-branding of the PNM under Stuart Young's leadership as a new chapter.
01:24Give him a chance because he knew he now come, maybe he might do something good, Rauli gone.
01:33But that is hogwash.
01:35It is the same old, same old.
01:38You cannot have a new chapter in an old book.
01:43It is the same.
01:45Rauli has gone, but Rauli has remained in the person of Stuart Young.
01:50Today, the PNM is splitting apart.
01:53They are deflated because Stuart Young cannot lead them.
01:56The Oropuj East MP says people across the length and breadth of TNT are sensing a victory
02:02for the yellow party.
02:04Today, I was in Port of Spain meeting some folks there doing, conducting some business.
02:09And you know what they tell me?
02:10They say, I want to tell you something.
02:11In Port of Spain, which has historically been PNM, there is a momentum.
02:17The UNC is on a momentum, on an upward drive.
02:22We are riding a wave, and as Shakespeare said, there's a tide in the affairs of men.
02:28When taken at the flood, leads on to victory.
02:33On such a tide are we now afloat.
02:37And anywhere you go, even Port of Spain, people are saying the momentum is with the UNC.
02:43And this afternoon, General Secretary of the UNC, Peter Kanhai, announced the Congress
02:47of the People has joined the UNC's Coalition of Interests.
