Dave & Chuck the Freak talk about the closing of Dittrich Furs, a fur store in Detroit that has been around for 132 years. During the news report, they see a guy buying a blue fur coat and want it for themselves.

00:11fur store here and advertising for years it's called dietrich furs they still look like they

00:19air the commercials they aired in the 70s yeah and 80s yep

00:22well now as you may understand fur is not quite as popular anymore yes and they've decided to close

00:32their legendary store after 132 years in business it's really crazy but because they're doing a

00:3970 off sale it is nuts here's the story from wdiv tv i've been here since 10 a.m i really wanted to

00:48come here because it was iconic and it was 136 years so that was my reason for standing in that

00:54line for almost six hours i do remember um because i grew up in this area i remember dietrich's because

01:04my mother bought a coat from dietrich's in fact i still have that coat they are just such a strong

01:11hold they've been a stronghold in detroit for so many years

01:16oh yeah of course of course i told my brothers in them and they was like remember you know have

01:24um dietrich's first actually i still have that fur i just haven't gave it up she's passed on but

01:29i'm the only daughter so it went to me it's gonna go from my daughter from me to my daughter and

01:35that's what my memory is with dietrich's first because she bought her first it was beautiful

01:39i think they'll have some wonderful memories but detroit loved them it's being shown by people

01:47coming out i think i might buy this jacket i like the color what is happening this guy's wearing an

01:55electric blue fur coat it's incredible the confidence oh my god you imagine if any of us showed up in this

02:38i'm tempted right now to go there chuck you're insane you're not gonna buy can i tell you i don't

02:45know i might look great in a fur and i just don't know it yet i never thought i'd see a guy with that

02:58very confident and then i put a fur on and i'm like whoa chubby pins eat well

03:13guys i drove an hour and a half yesterday to stand in line to buy something from dietrich furs

03:16didn't get in until almost 9 30 last night they sold everything in one day oh yeah i bet yeah

03:23we gotta go find that bear i'm gonna miss him just the idea of being on advertisement

03:32and and i'm getting up age and just see how things just just kind of going away that i'm used to

03:39just congrats they're probably tired they probably need a break too

04:13oh my god i mean it wouldn't fit me like i'd look like a goomba in it with my little tiny head but

04:18yeah doesn't matter i think doesn't matter that coat and that long wig you had at christmas

04:57everyone's in there buying like classic fur and he gravitates to the electric blue

05:03huge collar unbelievable hundreds of dollars hundreds of dollars what animal has that fur

05:10what animal has that fur none do none do he's invited to the barbecue

05:15i think i might buy the jacket i kind of like it i like the color it's pretty good
