00:00
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, the Lord be with you.
00:20
Welcome to Mass, wherever you might be.
00:22
We come before our God full of joy, and full of gratitude for the incredible gifts that he's given us.
00:32
But we also know our own weakness, and so we humbly but confidently come before our God, also seeking his pardon.
00:46
Lord, sometimes we can take your precious gift of life for granted.
00:50
Lord, have mercy.
00:54
And Lord, sometimes we can take this beautiful world that you've given us for granted.
01:00
Christ, have mercy.
01:03
And Lord, sometimes in our selfishness and our hurry, we can take one another for granted.
01:09
Lord, have mercy.
01:12
May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to life everlasting.
01:18
Let us pray.
01:20
Grant, we ask, Almighty God, that the birth of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world,
01:28
made known by the guidance of a star, may be revealed ever more fully to our minds.
01:36
And we ask this through Christ our Lord.
01:39
Our first reading today is from St. John, a letter of St. John.
01:48
Who can overcome the world?
01:52
Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
01:56
Jesus Christ, who came by water and blood, not with water only, but with water and blood,
02:04
with the Spirit as another witness, since the Spirit is the truth.
02:08
So that there are three witnesses, the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and all three of them agree.
02:16
We accept the testimony of human witnesses, but God's testimony is much greater.
02:24
And this is God's testimony, given as evidence for His Son.
02:30
Everybody who believes in the Son of God has this testimony inside them.
02:36
And anyone who will not believe God is making God out to be a liar,
02:42
because he has not trusted the testimony God has given about His Son.
02:49
This is the testimony.
02:52
God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
02:58
Anyone who has the Son has life.
03:01
Anyone who does not have the Son does not have life.
03:04
And I've written all this to you, so that you who believe in the name of the Son of God
03:11
may be sure that you have eternal life.
03:16
The Word of the Lord.
03:19
And our response to the psalm today is,
03:23
Praise the Lord Jerusalem.
03:25
Praise the Lord Jerusalem.
03:28
Praise the Lord Jerusalem.
03:30
Try and praise your God.
03:31
He has strengthened the bars of your gates.
03:35
He has blessed the children within you.
03:38
Praise the Lord Jerusalem.
03:41
He established peace on your borders.
03:43
He feeds you with finest wheat.
03:45
He sends out His Word to the earth, and swiftly runs His command.
03:50
Praise the Lord Jerusalem.
03:53
He makes His Word known to Jacob, to Israel's laws and decrees.
03:59
He has not dealt thus with other nations.
04:01
He has not taught them His decrees.
04:05
Praise the Lord Jerusalem.
04:08
And we welcome the Gospel.
04:10
Hallelujah, hallelujah.
04:12
Jesus treats the good news of the kingdom, and heal all who were sick.
04:16
Hallelujah.
04:18
The Lord be with you.
04:24
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.
04:32
Jesus was in one of the towns when a man appeared covered with neprosy.
04:42
Seeing Jesus, this man fell on his face and implored Jesus.
04:49
Sir, he said, if you want to, you can cure me.
04:54
And Jesus stretched out his hands, touched him, and said, of course I want to.
05:01
Be cured.
05:01
His reputation continued to grow, and large crowds would gather to hear him and have their sickness cured.
05:25
But he would always go off to some place where he could be alone and pray.
05:35
The Gospel of the Lord.
05:42
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you.
05:46
The fruit of the earth, the work of human hands.
05:48
It will become for us the bread of life.
05:50
By the mist of this water and wine, may we come to share in the divinity of Christ,
06:00
who humbled himself to share in our humanity.
06:12
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you.
06:16
Bread of the vine, the work of human hands.
06:18
It will become our spiritual drink.
06:22
Lord God, we ask you to receive us and be pleased with the sacrifice.
06:25
We offer you with humble and contrite hearts.
06:28
Lord, wash away my iniquity.
06:30
Claims me from my sins.
06:40
Pray now, my brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, your mighty Father.
06:46
Receive with favour, O Lord, we pray, the offerings of us, your people,
06:56
that what we profess with devotion and faith may be ours through these heavenly mysteries.
07:02
We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
07:06
The Lord be with you.
07:08
Lift up your hearts.
07:10
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
07:12
It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere.
07:19
Give you thanks, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God.
07:23
For you have revealed the mystery of our salvation in Jesus Christ as a light for the nations.
07:32
And when he appeared in our mortal nature, you made us new by the glory of his immortal nature.
07:41
And so with angels, archangels, shrines for many as the hosts and powers of heaven,
07:46
we sing the hymn of your glory, as without end we acclaim.
07:51
Holy, holy, holy Lord God of hosts,
07:54
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
07:56
Hosanna in the highest.
07:58
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
08:01
Hosanna in the highest.
08:03
You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
08:12
Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall,
08:18
so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
08:22
At the time he was betrayed, and entered willingly into his passion,
08:27
he took bread, and giving thanks, he broke it,
08:30
gave it to his disciples, saying,
08:31
Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
08:33
for this is my body,
08:35
which will be given up for you.
08:38
In a similar way, when supper was ended,
08:59
he took the chalice, and once more, giving thanks,
09:01
he gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:03
Take this, all of you, and drink from it,
09:05
for this is the chalice of my blood.
09:07
The blood of the new and eternal covenant,
09:10
which will be poured out for you and for many,
09:13
for the forgiveness of sins.
09:16
Do this in memory of me.
09:33
The mystery of faith.
09:36
When we eat this bread, and drink this cup,
09:39
we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.
09:43
Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection,
09:46
we offer you, Lord, the bread of life,
09:49
and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks,
09:52
that you've held us worthy to be in your presence,
09:54
and to minister to you.
09:56
Humbly, we pray,
09:57
that partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
09:59
we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
10:04
Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world.
10:07
Bring her to the fullness of charity,
10:10
together with Leo, our Pope,
10:12
Charles, our Bishop,
10:14
all the clergy,
10:15
and the whole of God's people.
10:18
Remember also, our brothers and sisters,
10:19
who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
10:22
and all who have died in your mercy.
10:25
Welcome them into the light of your faith.
10:29
For the blessed virgin Mary,
10:32
mother of God,
10:33
St. Joseph,
10:34
the spouse,
10:35
the blessed apostles,
10:36
and all the saints,
10:37
who have pleased you throughout the ages,
10:39
we may merit to be
10:40
coheirs to eternal life,
10:43
and may praise and glorify you
10:44
through your Son,
10:45
Jesus Christ.
10:50
Through him, and with him,
10:52
and in him,
10:52
O God, Almighty Father,
10:54
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
10:56
all glory and honour is yours,
10:58
forever and ever.
11:02
Let us pray together
11:03
the beautiful family prayer
11:04
that Jesus taught us to pray.
11:07
Our Father,
11:09
who art in heaven,
11:10
hallowed be thy name.
11:12
Thy kingdom come,
11:13
thy will be done on earth,
11:14
as it is in heaven.
11:16
Give us this day our daily bread,
11:19
and forgive us our trespasses,
11:21
as we forgive those
11:22
who trespass against us,
11:24
and lead us not into temptation,
11:27
but deliver us from evil.
11:29
Deliver us, Lord,
11:29
we pray from every evil,
11:31
graciously grant peace in our day,
11:33
by the help of your mercy,
11:35
and be always free from sin,
11:37
and safe from all distress,
11:39
as we await the blessed hope,
11:41
and the coming of our Saviour,
11:43
Jesus Christ.
11:45
Lord Jesus Christ,
11:47
who said to your Apostles,
11:48
Peace I leave you,
11:49
my peace I give you.
11:51
Look not on our sins,
11:53
but on the faith of your Church,
11:55
and graciously grant her peace,
11:56
and unity in accordance with your will,
11:59
who live and reign forever and ever.
12:02
The peace of the Lord
12:03
be with you always.
12:04
Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
12:08
Peace now,
12:08
wherever you may be.
12:13
Lamb of God,
12:15
you take away the sins of the world,
12:17
have mercy on us.
12:18
Lamb of God,
12:19
you take away the sins of the world,
12:21
have mercy on us.
12:23
Lamb of God,
12:23
you take away the sins of the world,
12:25
grant us peace.
12:26
Behold the Lamb of God,
12:45
behold him who takes away the sins of the world,
12:48
as to those called to the supper of the Lamb.
12:51
Lord,
12:52
I am not worthy,
12:53
that you should enter under my roof.
12:55
Let me say the word,
12:57
and my soul shall be healed.
13:00
My Jesus,
13:01
I believe that you are present,
13:02
in the most blessed sacrament.
13:04
I love you above all things,
13:06
and I desire to receive you into my soul.
13:09
Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
13:13
commonly spiritually,
13:14
into my heart,
13:15
I embrace you as if you were already there,
13:17
and unite myself wholly to you.
13:21
Never permit me to be separated from you.
13:24
Amen.
13:25
Let us pray.
13:28
O God,
13:29
who touch us through our partaking of your sacrament,
13:33
work, we pray,
13:34
the effects of its power in our hearts,
13:37
that we may be made fit to receive your gift,
13:41
through this very gift itself.
13:44
And we ask this through Christ's hand.
13:46
The Lord be with you.
13:49
May almighty God bless you,
13:51
the Father,
13:51
the Son,
13:52
and the Holy Spirit.
13:54
The Mass has ended.
13:55
Let us go in peace.
13:57
Let us go in peace.
13:57
Let us go in peace.
13:58
Let us go in peace.
13:59
