Catholic Mass Today I Daily Holy Mass I Friday February 6 2026 I English Holy Mass
Transcript
00:00Today is the feast of St. Paul, Mickey and companions, Japanese martyrs who suffered
00:20terrible tortures and executions because of their faith and how God stood by them at this time.
00:28So we start our celebration in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
00:34Peace be with you. We acknowledge our sins, we acknowledge the compassion, the mercy and the love of God.
00:41Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
00:55Let us pray.
00:57O God, strength of all the saints, who through the cross was pleased to call the martyrs, St. Paul, Mickey and companions to life, grant we pray that by their intercession we may hold with courage even unto death,
01:10to the faith we profess through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
01:19A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Galatians.
01:25Through the law, I'm dead to the law, so that now I can live for God. I've been crucified with Christ and I live now, not with my own life, but with the life of Christ who lives in me.
01:39The life I now live in this body, I live in faith. Faith in the Son of God who loved me and who sacrificed himself for my sake.
01:51The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy.
02:01Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy. The heat, when the Lord delivered Zion from bondage, it seemed like a dream.
02:11Then was our mouth filled with laughter. On our lips there were songs.
02:16Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy. The heaters themselves said, What marvels the Lord worked for them. What marvels the Lord worked for us. Indeed, we were glad.
02:28Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy. Deliver us, O Lord, from our bondage as streams in dry land.
02:37Those who sow in tears will sing when they reap. Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy.
02:46They go out, they go out full of tears, carrying seed for the sowing. They come back, they come back full of song, carrying their seeds.
02:55Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy. Alleluia, alleluia. Go and teach our peoples my gospel. I'm with you always until the end of the world. Alleluia.
03:06The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
03:15The eleven disciples set out for Galilee to the mountain where Jesus had arranged to meet them.
03:21When they saw him, they fell down before him, though some hesitated.
03:26Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
03:33Go, therefore, make disciples of all the nations.
03:36Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
03:40And teach them to observe all the commands I gave you. And know that I am with you always, yes, to the end of time.
03:49The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
03:57The Japanese martyrs suffered horrible torture and deaths. But they stood steadfast. I read the account of their martyrdom this morning.
04:06And it was so encouraging and so full of faith.
04:10But we know that, you know, martyrs suffered a lot and they stood faithful. How faithful am I in the little things of every day?
04:21When someone does not like me or someone says the wrong thing, how do I react?
04:26Do I let my emotions take over? Or do I still follow the Gospel? Do I still forgive? Do I still respect?
04:34These little things that can irritate us and make us a bit blind to the Gospel and how we react.
04:42So we are very unlikely to give up our life for our faith here in Australia. Highly unlikely the way things are.
04:50But of course, Christians are still the most persecuted people on earth. When we look at what's happening in Nigeria and other places where Christians are actually dying for their faith.
05:01More Christians have died in the last several years than they had for a long time. So that still happens.
05:08But for us, it's about our wrong yes to God. Our wrong constant yes to God.
05:15And we pray for the grace that was given to them to be given to us so that we continue to deal with our egos, with our human imperfections and keep saying yes.
05:32Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for to your goodness we have this bread to offer.
05:37Which earth has given human answer made, it will become for us the bread of life.
05:42Blessed be God forever.
05:44Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for to your goodness we have this wine to offer.
05:59Fruit of divine work of human hands, it will become a spiritual drink.
06:04Blessed be God forever.
06:06Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God our almighty Father.
06:16I do not accept this sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy Church.
06:24Receive, O Holy Father, the offerings we bring in the commemoration of the holy martyrs.
06:30And grant that we, O servants, may be steadfast in confessing your name.
06:34Through Christ our Lord.
06:36Amen.
06:37The Lord be with you.
06:38And with your spirit.
06:39And with your spirit.
06:40Lift up your hearts.
06:41Lift up your hearts.
06:42Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
06:45It is right and just.
06:47It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you thanks.
06:53Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God, for the blood of your blessed Japanese martyrs, pulled out like Christ to glorify your name, shows forth your marvelous works, by which, in our weakness, you perfect your power, and on the feeble, bestow strength to bear your witness through Christ our Lord.
07:14And so, with the powers of heaven, we worship you constantly on earth, and before your majesty, without end, we acclaim Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of hosts.
07:27Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
07:29Hosanna in the highest.
07:31Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
07:35Hosanna in the highest.
07:37You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
07:40Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
07:51At the time he was betrayed and ended willingly into his passion, he took bread, and giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying,
08:01Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood.
08:12The blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be pulled out for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins.
08:23Do this in memory of me.
08:24Do this in memory of me.
08:25The mystery of faith.
08:30When we eat this bread and bring this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.
08:38Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you've held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
09:06Humbly, we pray, that, by taking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
09:15Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Cleo, our Pope, me, your unworthy servant, and all the clergy.
09:27Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy.
09:36Welcome them into the light of your face.
09:39Have mercy on us all.
09:40We pray that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the blessed Apostles, and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be coerced to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
09:59Through him and with him and in him, O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and ever. Amen.
10:13At the Savior's command, and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say,
10:18Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
10:28Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
10:37And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
10:42Deliver us, Lord, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
10:57For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever.
11:02Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles, Peace I leave you, my peace I give you, look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
11:19The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, always and with your spirit.
11:23Let's offer each other a sign of peace.
11:25Peace be with you all.
11:28Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, and mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, and mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
11:44Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
11:56Happy are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb.
11:59Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,
12:03but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
12:07My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
12:11I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul.
12:17Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
12:20comely spiritually into my heart,
12:22I embrace you as if you were already there
12:25and unite myself only to you.
12:28Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
12:31O God, who we, your holy martyrs,
12:34have wonderfully made known the mysteries of the cross,
12:38graciously grant the drawing strength from this sacrifice
12:41we may cling faithfully to Christ
12:43and labor in the church for the salvation of all.
12:47Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
12:49The Lord be with you.
12:50With your spirit.
12:51And may the peace and the blessing of the Father and of the Son
12:54and of the Holy Spirit come upon you and remain always with you.
