00:04Some of us have seen some lovely crisp winter sunshine, but others have seen heavy snowfall
00:11and that's all thanks to Arctic air across us at the moment.
00:14Northerly winds, quite a bitter wind and temperatures well below average.
00:19Further snow expected over the next few days.
00:22Met Office warnings out right through the rest of the weekend, right through Monday
00:26and into Tuesday as well.
00:28So do stay up to date with the warnings on our app and on our website as they are continuously
00:33being updated.
00:34As we head overnight tonight, further heavy snow across parts of northern Scotland, sleet
00:39and snow showers for Northern Ireland, western parts of Wales, the West Country and a few
00:44sleet and snow showers still for the east coast of England.
00:47Elsewhere clear skies and for all of us a widespread hard frost, some icy stretches as temperatures
00:53fall well below freezing, minus two to minus five and then locally minus seven to minus
00:59ten in the countryside of where the snow lies on the ground.
01:02So a very cold start to Sunday morning.
01:04Icy stretches, some disruption to transport, so it is worth checking before travelling.
01:11Through the day we'll see frequent heavy snow showers across northern Scotland.
01:15Again sleet and snow showers for Northern Ireland pushing into northwest England, perhaps even
01:20the Midlands.
01:21Parts of Wales and the West Country also seeing some sleet and snow showers.
01:25A few perhaps still down the east coast but a bit of a drier, brighter picture here compared
01:29to what we saw on Saturday.
01:31We've seen plenty of crisp winter sunshine, again the central belt seeing plenty of sunshine,
01:36maybe just one or two snow flurries passing through.
01:38But that wind coming down from the north, so very cold air for everybody.
01:42Temperatures really struggling, parts of Scotland staying below freezing all day.
01:47Elsewhere temperatures between one and four Celsius, maybe five or six across the very far
01:52southwest of England.
01:54Into the evening time we'll see further bands of sleet and snow pushing southwards across central
02:00parts of the UK into the south through the evening and early hours.
02:04This could lead to some icy stretches, further wintry showers for Northern Ireland.
02:08Scotland also seeing further snow showers accumulations but continuing to build here and perhaps the
02:13risk of some sleet and snow showers down the east coast still.
02:17And elsewhere overnight into Monday morning we'll see clear skies and once again widely temperatures
02:24below freezing.
02:25So icy stretches for first thing on Monday.
02:28Many of us going back to work, going back to school, so do take care when travelling.
02:32There'll be icy stretches on the roads.
02:34Further sleet and snow showers possible, particularly across the east and the west but also Northern
02:40Scotland.
02:40Warnings remaining out.
02:41But elsewhere another dry sunny day, particularly through the central spine of the country.
02:46Plenty of winter sunshine but some icy stretches still possible.
02:50Temperatures once again around two or three degrees at best, maybe five or six across the
02:55very far southwest.
02:57So it is remaining very cold through the rest of the weekend into the beginning of next week.
03:02Will it continue?
03:03Well it looks like the Atlantic tries to move in as we head towards Tuesday and Wednesday.
03:07Any weather systems coming in can bump into that cold air.
03:09So it is worth staying up to date with the forecast over the next few days.
