One family in Lowlands Tobago is celebrating ten years of lightning up their home with special Christmas lights for their village. One resident of the home Ken Patrick spoke with TV6'S Elizabeth Williams about the family's annual tradition.
00:00When we started out, it wasn't as much decorations as you see today. Reason being every year we try to add on and add on something different. All right. So this year we changed up a lot. We put some more state of the art decorations.
00:20A sight to behold as the entire house is lit up for the community and children from far and wide drive by with their parents and guardians to see the spectacle.
00:32Because during the course of the years, the decorations get better. It actually more functions on the lights, I should say, more movements on the lights. So it makes the place looks a lot more prettier.
00:46What was your vision for something like this? It's actually no vision. We just do it because it's a tradition that we just continued here in Tobago from the states. We migrated from the states to Tobago. So it's just a tradition.
01:00Mr. Patrick said it's all about bringing smiles to the faces of children every year and to spreading joy in gift giving.
01:09I just want to make people happy, have them to come and take a look at the lights. And once they're happy, we happy that they enjoy our hard work, that we take time to put up the lights.
