00:00We see that Mr. Ansel Dennessy was our youngest chief secretary and we see that this current
00:05administration is a plethora of young persons. Our minority leader is also a very young person.
00:12So I want to encourage young people at this stage, at this level, if you have aspirations,
00:16do not give up on your dream. You need to continue to go out there and see how is it
00:21that you are going to make Tobago better, even if it's not from the standpoint of being
00:25an assemblyman just yet, but working towards that goal and that aim, working alongside
00:30them, offering them counsel and that youth perspective.
00:33PNM Senator and PNM Tobago Council Political Leader Ansel Dennessy said the youth must
00:39step forward.
00:41Political parties like the PNM have a great responsibility to ensure that we advance young
00:48people. And the Prime Minister said it himself, that now is the time for young people to step
00:54forward and take responsibility for our country. And in the case of Tobago, take responsibility
01:02for our island.
01:03Meantime, Justin Charles of the Tobago West Youth League spoke of the importance of Tobago
01:09being in control of its environment.
01:12When we have the whole legislative arm, the Tobago legislature is a full legislature.
01:20We're going to see, you know, potentially some of the bills that are put forward and
01:26passed in the Tobago legislature, even adopted by central government someday, because just
01:32because of how far-reaching and important they are in Tobago, you could see how well
01:38they could be, you know, implemented in Trinidad and Tobago.
