00:28his ongoing commitment to peace.
00:34The second day of the Thailand-Cambodia General Border Committee's Secretariat meeting opened
00:38on the Thai side of the border, with about 30 delegates from each country taking part.
00:50Hello and welcome to From the South, from the headquarters of the Lesur English in Havana,
00:54Cuba. My name is Pablo Micheliche. We begin with the news. Stay with us.
00:58This Wednesday, the President of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, sent a message to the nation on the
01:16occasion of the Christmas celebrations. There, she reproached the public servants who decided to
01:22obey a foreign government and steal the vote from Hondurans. The head of state, Rafim, her gratitude
01:28to those who placed their trust in her and detailed her government's work. With a balance sheet
01:35highlighting the social agenda that lifted more than one million Hondurans out of poverty,
01:41she made evident that governing without corruption yields results that are currently recognized
01:47worldwide. By her statement that she will remain in office not one minute less, not one minute more,
01:54she recalled that the country she received in ruins had been governed by a narco government,
02:00the same one that foreign forces now intend to impose.
02:03Also in Honduras, an electoral coup has taken place with the declaration of Nasri Asfura as
02:15president by two members of the National Electoral Council, without concluding the special count or
02:20resolving the challenges that have been filed. The representatives of the two-party system in the
02:26National Electoral Council, Ana Paula Hall and Cosette Lopez, officially declared the presidential victory of the
02:32Nationalist candidate Nasri Asfura through the controversial broadcast of preliminary elections results
02:39without having completed the special count, as required by Honduran law, and with six days still
02:45remaining for the review of the irregularities. For his part, CNE Councilor Marlon Ochoa had warned
02:52that a declaration without exhausting all administrative processes constitutes a criminal offense amid demands
02:59from the citizens for a vote-by-vote count. This declaration confirms the execution of the electoral coup
03:05by the two-party system with the support of foreign interference crimes that have been repeatedly
03:11renounced by the Liberty and Refoundation Party.
03:18The full board of the CNE declares elected constitutional president of the Republic of Honduras
03:27for a four-year term beginning on January 27, 2026 and ending on January 27, 2030, Nasri Juan Asfura-Savla,
03:38who represents the National Party of Honduras with 18,757 ballot boxes records counted, equivalent to 97.86%
03:51of the results has obtained 1,479,748 ballot votes.
04:02United Nations experts condemn the blockade aggression and piracy on the high seas by the United States
04:08against Venezuela. UN members denounced that the partial maritime blockade imposed by Washington on
04:13Venezuela violates fundamental norms of international law. They also affirm that the use of force is also
04:20recognized as an illegal armed aggression as defined by the General Assembly because it endangers the
04:26right to life in the face of threats in the region. They also recall that the killings in Caribbean and
04:33Pacific waters must be investigated and prosecuted. In the meantime, the United States Congress must
04:39intervene to prevent further attacks in the Caribbean Sea and lift the blockade.
04:44also the Venezuelan foreign ministry thank the Islamic consultative assembly of Iran for his support in
04:56defending the sovereignty and rights of the Bolivarian country. Through his social media accounts,
05:01Foreign Minister Ivan Hill stated that on behalf of the Venezuelan people and President Nicolás Maduro,
05:07we send our most sincere thanks to the Islamic consultative assembly of Iran for his strong
05:13statement in defense of Venezuela's sovereignty and legitimate rights. His strong condemnation of the
05:19illegal and provocative actions of the United States government resonates deeply in our hearts
05:24and strengthens our struggle for justice and self-determination. He also emphasized that the seizure and
05:31persecution of our oil tankers in international waters is, without a doubt, an act of piracy that not
05:37only undermines our economy but also challenges the fundamental principles of international law. We appreciate
05:44Iran's support in denouncing these practices that seek to destabilize our nation and suggest our people to unjust siege.
05:52Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to his Venezuelan counterpart,
06:02Nicolás Maduro, highlighting the achievements of his government and expressing his solidarity with
06:07the Venezuelan people. In a statement, President Vladimir Putin said, His Excellency Mr. President,
06:13dear Nicolás, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The outgoing year has been quite
06:19successful for Russian-Venezuelan relations. The signing of the Strategic Cooperation Treaty created
06:27the conditions for qualitative and constructive increase in interaction in all areas. In this regard,
06:34the document stated we would like to reiterate our own waiver in solidarity with the people of Venezuela
06:39who are facing unprecedented external pressure, as well as our willingness to continue working closely
06:45together on current issues on the bilateral and international agenda. I wish you the best of health,
06:51happiness and success in the development of your state activities and peace and well-being to all your compatriots.
07:03The Government of Nicaragua expresses his support and solidarity with the Venezuelan people while
07:08emphasizing that unity is a symbol of new times for the peoples of the region. In a statement,
07:13the Government of Nicaragua expressed the following, To all of you in these days of renaissance,
07:18all our love, and the sure revolutionary Christian Bolivarian Sandinista Chavista,
07:23legitimate and genuine brotherhood of unique and strong souls. He also pointed out that our unshakable
07:31unity is a symbol of the better times that we must bring about in the midst of these great and formidable
07:38battles which we know herald are just true solidarity and complementary world that is coming, that will come.

09:38Argentinians protested in the city of Mendoza against the approval of a mining project
09:42that put the province's water and ecosystem at risk. On Tuesday, hundreds of activists and social
09:48organizations took to the streets of the town to demand that the regional government repeal the laws
09:54approving mining in the province. With banners and slogans such as water is now for sale, Argentinians
10:00condemned the mining initiative. For his part, the governor of the entity Alfredo Cornejo minimized the
10:07impact of the project and affirmed that the greatest consumption of water comes from the agricultural
10:12sector and residential use. The Federal Prosecutor's Office of New York in the United States has confirmed
10:25this Wednesday the finding of more than one million documents related to the pedophilia scandal in which
10:31the President of the United States appears implicated. The information was also confirmed by agents
10:36of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, better known as the FBI, to the Department of Justice.
10:43The office, headed by Prosecutor Pam Bondi, acknowledged the receipt of the finding and clarified that given
10:51the size of the files, their review will take several weeks. Some senators have asked the Department of
10:58Justice to examine the non-compliance with the legal deadlines established for the publication of the
11:03records of the sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein, reiterating that the victims deserve full disclosure
11:09and to live with the peace of mind they had sought for years.
11:14The second day of the Thailand-Camboria General Border Committee's criteria meeting opened Thursday
11:28morning on the Thai side of the border in Shantamburi province, with about 30 delegates from each
11:34country taking part. The talks followed the smaller session at the Banh Pak Khat permanent checkpoint on
11:41Wednesday where four representatives from each side set the agenda. According to the Cambodian
11:46Ministry of National Defence, the meeting began at 9.05 am and focused on halting hostilities and
11:53restoring stability. Delegates also prepared for the upcoming 3rd Special General Border Committee
12:00meeting scheduled for December 27, 2025. Their renewed dialogue comes amid deadly clashes that

12:22In Indonesia, four weeks after floods devastated three provinces on Sumatra Island and claiming more
12:28than 1,000 lives, residents of Ayyenggadol village in South Tapanuli gathered for Christmas months amid their
12:35wreckage. The church, surrounded by debris and locks carried by the floodwaters, became a symbol of

12:58displaced and are rebuilding their homes. Holding mass in the damaged village underscore both the
13:04hardship endured and the hope that collective spirit can help the community recover from one of the

13:48Welcome back. Paul Leo XIV celebrated Christmas Eve Mass at St. Peter's Basilica, one of the most important
13:55celebrations of the celebration of the year in the Vatican. Before thousands of faithful gathered in St.
14:00Peter's Basilica, the Pope shows as the central message of this festivity a phrase from St.
14:06Leo the Great, the Lord's Christmas is the Christmas of peace. During the homily, the pontiff lamented that
14:14a distorted economy treats human beings as mere commodities. It is worth noting that these remarks,
14:20the first Christmas of the United States Pope since his election is made and it is expected that
14:30the conclusion he will impart the Orbe et Orbe blessing.
14:45Farmers in southwestern France mark Christmas Eve with prayers on the A63 motorway
14:50incest as turning a highway blockade into a solemn vigil. The demonstration was part of ongoing
14:57protests against the government's mandatory cooling protocol for cattle herds affected by lumpy skin
15:04disease. The farmers say their prayers symbolize both their faith and their struggle, highlighting the
15:10human cost of the policy. They argue that mass cooling devastates rural livelihoods and have
15:17called for alternative measures such as vaccination. A Christmas Eve protest adds to a wave of farmer
15:23demonstrations across France, underscoring growing frustrations with agricultural policies and economic pressures.
15:37In the Netherlands, technology is being developed that simulates the characteristics of a womb
15:44during the gestation stage for premature babies between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy. Let's see more
15:50details in the following material. Various scientists from the universities of Eindhoven and Aachen are
15:58currently working on the device which is expected to generate conditions similar to those inside a woman's
16:05body with up to 97 percent accuracy. Yeah, so we want to keep the fetal physiology, the fetal circulation, we want to keep it intact so that the baby stays in a, comes into an environment that really mimics the maternal womb,
16:21so that it can develop for a couple more weeks. So we know that babies who are born at 28 weeks are stronger
16:27and have a higher quality of life. The technology, known as aqua womb, consists of airtight containers filled with artificial amniotic fluid
16:39and regulated at a constant temperature based on the baby's needs. Inside, the fetus is connected to an artificial placenta that supplies oxygen
16:49and nutrients and nutrients, which evolves through each stage of the child's growth and varies from the moment the baby enters until the time of natural birth.
17:00So then we have attached this transfer bag and we bring in our hand and then we can deliver the child into the transfer bag.
17:09Once the baby is inside, we can loosen the transfer bag from the channel and then we have access to the umbilical cords
17:17to connect it to the artificial placenta. Dr. Willem de Boode states that the most important thing is the critical transfer process
17:26between the birth of the premature baby and its entry into the aqua womb, so that there are no complications.
17:34So, for the delivery, it's really important that you prevent the triggering of spontaneous breathing.
17:41So, you should prevent that the baby takes a breath and get the lungs filled with air because then already the
17:49injurious effects are starting. So, that will mean that you need a transfer device from the womb into the
17:56perinatal life support that the baby doesn't start breathing air but is in artificial amniotic fluid.
18:04The process, currently in its early stages, represents a milestone in global medicine with the potential to
18:13significantly reduce infant mortality rates associated with high-risk pregnancies involving premature babies.
18:22When a baby at 24 weeks is exposed to air, the lungs will have higher risk of injury. If the heart is
18:30faced with higher pressures, higher volumes of blood when the baby is born on a regular way, it's being born right now.
18:41If you can preserve the fetal state and you can prevent all these effects, that will improve the outcome in later life.
18:52There's a huge difference if you're being born at 24 weeks or at 28 weeks.
18:56When you're being extremely preterm born, we know that young adults being born prematurely,
19:06they still face the complications related to their preterm birth.
19:10The scientific race does not stop there. Several universities and research teams,
19:17such as the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Toronto,
19:23are conducting animal trials of artificial wound systems, as scientists move closer to transforming
19:31neonatal care, stimulating competition, and setting the stage for a final project by the end of 2026.
19:39And with that story, we have come to the end of this news. Please remember, you can find this and many
