00:29Extremely honoured to be a part of the Pirelli calendar
00:33It's our cultural touchstone
00:35It's something we've all had in our lives
00:38And it's something that we have all paid attention to
00:42It is legendary
00:43And what I love about it is that it's truly moved with the times
00:54There is always a new reflection of beauty
00:56And I love that it's increasingly inclusive
00:59And diverse
01:01And really I love that they always choose a photographer
01:04Who has a strong vision
01:07A really strong point of view
01:08The process of the calendar
01:13Was that you started thinking of how to visualise it
01:17And then to do it outside felt overwhelming
01:20Because of all the information you get
01:22So for me a reductionist approach was to kind of take it inside
01:26So you can control everything
01:28So we started using new technology
01:31In terms of using huge LED walls
01:34And you can go out and sort of almost harvest nature
01:38And then bring it into the studio
01:40We wanted to work with women and nature
01:42And for me it was a way of abstracting nature
01:46So when you think of nature in its earliest forms
01:49A way of understanding it was to reduce it into its elements
01:52Core elements
01:52You know some people had four
01:54Some people had twelve
01:55But so it was a way of abstracting nature into its simplest elements
02:00Oh well we all got fire right
02:13I think obviously women have a special fire
02:15I didn't choose it though
02:17They chose fire for me
02:18But it was the best choice for sure
02:20You know it was amazing
02:22I think everyone knows a Pirelli calendar
02:24I think it's like a moment in your life
02:26If you get to photograph at least one time for it
02:29So I think it was a privilege
02:31It was a lot of pressure
02:33Because you know you're in great company
02:35And you want to be like looking amazing in history in these photos
02:39Fire just takes over
02:40I definitely take over
02:41Especially in my own life
02:43And just I think it represented the player that I've always been
02:49Just power, controlled aggression and strength
02:54It's definitely the perfect element for me
02:57Through the calendar we want to express quality and art
03:00The photographers are outstanding
03:03This year Solve did an amazing job
03:06And it's based on freedom
03:09We leave total freedom to the artists
03:13In order to express themselves
03:14It's a challenge for them
03:16The elements are a reduction of nature in a way
03:22It's always been a way of understanding nature
03:24From very early civilisation
03:26You know you had like the earth, wind, fire, water
03:28As a way of reducing nature into something we can comprehend and talk about
03:33So it felt very natural to work within a framework where you take everything
03:39Basically because nature is everything
03:41Into something that you can distill and control in a picture
03:46So that's where it came from
03:47Working with Solve is always a treat
03:51Literally
03:51I mean plus being underwater
03:55And you know achieving an image where he you know controls such a powerful element
04:04And manages to get you know this amazing result is beyond me
04:08So yeah it's amazing
04:10I am Pisces in the zodiac sign
04:13So I am confident in water
04:16I'm a very good swimmer
04:17I think water is you know it represents
04:21It's peaceful
04:23It's mysterious
04:24And at the same time I think it teaches you to abandon
04:27Because you cannot control
04:29You cannot
04:30I couldn't control
04:33My hair was everywhere
04:34My makeup was melting
04:36I was floating up and down
04:37So I mean it's just like you just have to embrace
04:40The freedom of you know whatever is given to you
04:45We went outside and we photographed and filmed nature
05:06And then we brought it back into the studio
05:08So we had huge LED screens that we put it on
05:11Sometimes we did reflection of the nature
05:15Sometimes we did the nature as behind
05:17Sometimes we did nature mixed into the photograph
05:20So it's every picture is different
05:21But it's all about subtracting and simplifying nature into its easiest components
05:28My part of the calendar shot in New York
05:31With Solve in the studio
05:33And my element was a wind
05:35Wind brings a lot of changes
05:37And I love changes
05:38It brings a lot of freedom
05:41And I think we're all human
05:44Loaning for freedom and changes
05:47So I feel like I marry my element really well
05:51Everything becomes so surreal
05:53Everything you stop thinking
05:55And you just take it in
05:57And that's when the most beautiful pictures get captured
06:00I love my element which is ether
06:06I love it because it's mysterious
06:10I was intrigued
06:11I didn't necessarily know what it was
06:13I knew about the ether
06:15I think beyond the stratosphere
06:17The idea of the great beyond
06:19But how Solve described it to me
06:22To me as the element that connects everything
06:25And then I started doing a little bit more research
06:28And thought it was once considered to be the fifth element
06:30It was once considered to be the element that carried light
06:36All those things have changed and evolved
06:38But connectivity in our age
06:41Is a beautiful and necessary thing
06:45To remind us that we are all connected
06:47And we are greater than our differences
06:51How many goodly creatures are there here?
06:54How beauteous mankind is?
06:57Oh, brave new world
07:00That has such people in it
