00:03maybe the biggest award that you can possibly get,

00:06like Super Bowl MVP is great, MVP, the basket, like all that.

00:09I think the Heisman is the most recognizable award, though.

00:13And I'm just looking at some interesting information.

00:18I was looking at Diego Pavia and Fernando Mendoza

00:22walking down Times Square for tonight.

00:25Look, I mean, if you watched the Big Ten championship game last week,

00:31Fernando Mendoza at one point was plus 170,

00:34and Diego Pavia was plus 170, and Mendoza was tailing off, right,

00:40because of the performance in the first half against Ohio State.

00:44Then fast forward, you have the late comeback by Indiana to pull that game out,

00:49and all of a sudden, Fernando Mendoza's minus 2,500 to steal the hardware,

00:55and Diego Pavia was as high as 12 to 1.

00:58Yeah.

00:58He settled back in at 10 to 1.

01:00Look, it's a popularity award.

01:04Diego Pavia hasn't played in two weeks, Donnie.

01:06So, like, yeah, he has more, I think, hype than Fernando Mendoza,

01:14but the voters only remember last week, which was Mendoza with the fourth quarter drive

01:20to seal the deal against top-ranked Ohio State.

01:23So, for me, I don't see any way how Mendoza doesn't take it tonight.

01:28But, again, if you want to take a lottery ticket, the value is there on Pavia.

01:35Looking at Cal, she had 98% chance for Fernando Mendoza,

01:38which means a $100 wager right now will give you $3.

01:42But you say, hey, that's an extra $3, you know, they can put towards good use, Joe.

01:46You're going to fire away on that?

01:47Can you buy a coffee with three bucks?

02:05Because if I do the math here for Diego Pavia, he's listed at a 4% chance, Joe.

02:11And some would say, you're wasting your money.

03:34They were smacked around by the Volunteers.

03:37They had lost those games by almost four touchdowns.

03:47He went into Knoxville.

03:49He went into Neyland Stadium.

03:50Had a huge performance.

03:52He put up the previous week against Kentucky.

03:57He almost knocked off Texas, right?

04:00His second half comeback, they lost but covered.

04:02And he went toe-to-toe with Alabama.

04:05If he would have picked up either one of those victories, he probably would have stole the Heisman.

04:12And he would have been in the playoff to boot.

04:14Take a look at this, Joe.

04:15Just looking at some of those previous Heisman Trophy winners, man.

04:18There are some, like, the who's who of football, like, the past 15 to 20 years.

04:22If you have a memory for yourself, Joe, Heisman Trophy, look, who was your favorite guy that got the Heisman Trophy?

04:27I like Barry Sanders back in the day.

04:29Barry was good.

04:30I mean, you know, think it back.

04:31I mean, some of the, you know, Reggie Bush to me in 05 was, you know, that year was amazing.

04:37And Leiner and that team, you know, recent memory.

04:40You just think last 20 years.

04:41I mean, I grew up with Herschel, Bo Jackson, you know, 1984, 1985.

04:47I mean, Chuck Long, those guys, you know, battling it out.

04:51I mean, that's what I remember about the Heisman, right?

04:53You just think about.

04:54And Charles Woodson, 1997, watching that game.

04:58Knock it off Peyton Manning.

05:00Well, yeah, but I'm talking about the Ohio State game where he runs back.

05:04Yeah, punt return.

05:06Yeah, punt return for a touchdown.

05:07And they smack Ohio State.

05:09He poses the Heisman.

05:10And he seals the deal.

05:12Desmond Howard.

05:13I mean, we can go on and on.

05:14I mean, the great players that played in the 90s and obviously, you know, 2000s and up until this point, it has lost its luster.

05:24It's not the same.

05:25You know, we, you know, Baker, you can make the argument winning, you know, that it got back to that.

05:31And obviously, Kyler and all that.

05:32But it's a lost.

05:35It's a popularity award.

05:37You know, think about it.

05:37Desmond Howard, but for me growing up, I mean, the catch against Notre Dame was phenomenal.

05:42A guy who made it because you know them when they were like, you know, Johnny and all these, you know, sometimes you've gotten to play a game.

05:46A schoolaria is crazy.

05:55You're going to be a winner.

05:58No matter how you're gonna take a year exactly, you know, once a year later he has been a hit.
