00:00So we talked about your top four, Indiana, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State.
00:03So you're thinking, okay, did Ohio State win the regular season?
00:06Indiana won the Big Ten championship.
00:08You can make those natural inferences when you're looking at some of this.
00:15Texas being their number five.
00:17Are we to assume, Bill, that Ohio State then beat Texas in Austin on the opening week?
00:24That's the other one.
00:26Could one beat one in the regular season and then they trade and play again?
00:29We talked about this on this show last week where this is a potential for a growing rivalry
00:34because they're going to see each other more.
00:36They have so much money, so much resources, so much talent at both places
00:41that it's impossible not to believe that they would see each other a couple times.
00:44This would tell me that, yeah, Ohio State wins that game
00:48and then Texas maybe gets to the SEC championship, which they did two years ago,
00:53loses to Georgia, gets the five seed, and then you get into a situation
00:57where they would be playing Pac-12 Boise State, by the way,
01:01because we can also assume that the group of six school most of the time
01:05is probably going to be that 12 seed unless they're undefeated
01:10or ranked in the top 15 somehow.
01:12But Boise State, perhaps UNLV, also even North Dakota State
01:17in their first year in the Mountain West Conference could be a candidate to get that spot.
01:23Yeah, that seems like a very coveted spot nowadays, that five spot
01:26where you're playing one of those group of six teams.
01:28It feels like it's not necessarily a bye week but kind of a tune-up week
01:32where you're not really showing everything you've got
01:34because you're playing a Boise State or you're playing a Tulane
01:38and you just have the talent where you don't need to go out there
01:41and, I guess, show everything.
01:42So what other – what big upsets do you have coming up?
01:46I'm just – I just really want to see just a full picture of this playoffs
01:49because I'm excited about it.
01:51Yeah, you know, we have USC in the playoff.
01:54We have them playing Miami.
01:55That was one that caught people's attention, that one, we had USC,
01:58and then two, I had them winning a game, you know, beating Miami in the first round,
02:03which would assume that Miami wins the ACC championship.
02:06The Trojans go in.
02:08That would be a fun first-round playoff game, by the way,
02:11if you had the U playing the Trojans.
02:14You know, one of the things about these playoff matchups is you come across,
02:17and they haven't played, you know, obviously in a long time.
02:22So, you know, if you have that matchup come materialize
02:26and you have Maiava playing against Mensah, that would be fun to see.
02:29So that was one of the surprises.
02:30And then you get into the quarterfinal round where you have matchups
02:34like Ohio State and Texas.
02:36And, you know, you have Notre Dame in the quarterfinal round,
02:39no problem this time.
02:40So it starts to get more fun at that point when, you know,
02:45those are the ones that are hard to predict.
02:47I'm not copping out because these are my predictions.
02:49They are – we do them every year.
02:51But, you know, last year, for example, I had Texas and Ohio State
02:55in the championship game because at the time I thought those are the –
02:58one thing I do do when I make these predictions is you kind of weigh on –
03:03those are the most talented rosters.
03:05And that does matter in a 12-team setup.
03:08It really does.
03:10The irony is you have Texas then.
03:11I mean, apparently Ohio State winning that first one.
03:14Texas winning the rematch in the playoffs.
03:16Moving on.
03:18Another team that you had making the playoffs and winning a game,
03:21Ole Miss down there led by Chambliss.
03:25I think that's going to be one of the more intriguing teams to watch this year,
03:28Bill, when you start talking and looking at this.
03:30USC being in there, that was, I mean, a crazy surprise
03:34because they should be pretty talented.
03:35Can Lincoln Riley get it done?
03:36But can the Ole Miss train keep on rolling even without Lane Kiffin?
03:42LSU noticeably absent from there with Georgia, Texas,
03:47Oklahoma, and Ole Miss.
03:49It was difficult to kind of parcel that out.
03:51And do you believe, you know,
03:53that the Rebs are going to be better than LSU this year?
03:55I do.
03:56And I think they're going to win that game when they play on September 19th.
03:59Now, I could change that and watch when we're talking in like week three,
04:02watch me pick LSU to win that game in my predictions file.
04:05But I do think Trinidad Chambliss and they have enough to get back there.
04:09Now, that spot could be LSU and it could be Alabama.
04:13Alabama's got one of the softer schedules out of the SEC team.
04:17So, again, Kalen DeBoer and that program, maybe out of sight, out of mind,
04:22isn't the worst thing in the world.
04:23Now, what also struck me with this quarterfinal round is I definitely have four Big Ten teams in there,
04:28Indiana, Ohio State, USC.
04:30And then what would be just an amazing matchup if we got it would be Oregon-Notre Dame.
04:36We've talked about Dan Lanning and Marcus Freeman being kind of the two coaches
04:40that are fighting for that title of best coach without a national championship right now.
04:44And if they were matched up, boy, I think home field would – or not home field,
04:49I guess proximity might matter in that one depending on what bowl game they were at.
04:53But you'd have a fantastic matchup there between those schools.
