00:00We're here at school. Tell me about the show.
00:04Well, the show is a spinoff of the Goldbergs.
00:08It's about William Penn Academy, the school where the Goldbergs attend.
00:14And so this show takes place 10 years later after the Goldbergs have left.
00:19And my character is now a principal of the school.
00:23Is playing the principal your thing now? Do people ask you that all the time?
00:28I've only played two principals, I think. I just do it really well.
00:33Maybe that's it.
00:34It's ingrained in people's mind now.
00:36And Anna Gasteyer is going to be guest starring, correct?
00:39So what's it like when you guys get to work together?
00:42I love Anna. We've worked together. We've known each other for a long time.
00:46We've worked together at SNL.
00:47You know, with people at SNL, there's like a camaraderie with each other.
00:53When you spend time together again, it's like no time has passed.
00:57I've had that experience with everybody that I've worked with.
01:01Anyone else you might see here from the cast?
01:03From what?
01:04From SNL?
01:05From SNL, yeah.
01:06I just want to think for a second, are there any more?
01:10Oh, Rob Riggle makes an appearance, and that's all.
01:13Do you have any funny stories you can share dealing with your principal or teachers from back in your high school days?
01:18Do I have any funny stories?
01:20Yeah.
01:20Boy, no.
01:21When I think of my teachers and my experience, I had teachers that were inspiring more so.
01:28I had a gym teacher named, and I remember his name too.
01:31It was Joe Kaminski.
01:32He was a former football player, and he coached football.
01:35He also saw something about me that he liked.
01:40I don't know what it was, but he sort of took me under his wing.
01:43I think he could sense that I didn't have, because my father wasn't in my home.
01:48But I could sense that he sensed that I needed a male figure.
01:53He let me be like his assistant during the regular school year.
01:56Then he found out that I was taking a summer job working at the school that he coached football at.
02:02So I became like the water boy, for lack of a better term.
02:07But he was a great guy.
02:09He was so, he was amazing.
02:10And I don't even think about him occasionally, except in moments like this.
02:15I just think, like, why did he do that?
02:17You know, he didn't have to.
02:20But he was great.
02:21Yeah, Joe Kaminski.
02:22If you're out there, I hope you're well.
02:24He's an amazing dude.
02:25You put me on the spot with the funny story.
02:27If you just said, hey, do you have any stories about, you know, principals or teachers, then I can give you a movie.
02:35How is the show going to be different than The Goldbergs?
02:37I don't know how it's different from The Goldbergs.
02:40Comedically, it's probably along the same lines.
02:43I think it's more of a workplace comedy, whereas The Goldbergs is a family-oriented comedy.
02:47I think the problems and issues that we deal with on Schooled are probably more about working with people and also working with kids.
03:02Whereas The Goldbergs is more about relationship between the siblings and their extended friends and acquaintances.
03:09Hi, I'm Tim Meadows.
03:12Hello, Hollywood Life.
03:14You are on the set of Schooled, a new show from ABC.
03:18It's going to be a blast.
03:20Don't miss it.
